00:00 [MUSIC - "HUNGER GAMES"]
00:02 This blood on the side of the mountain
00:05 is writing all over the wall.
00:09 Shadows of us are still dancing.
00:12 And everyone will be falling.
00:14 I'll tell you, we are looking at the original song
00:16 from Olivia Rodrigo for the new movie, "Hunger Games,"
00:21 ballads of a songbird and snakes.
00:24 And we thought we'd bring in our own songbird,
00:26 and that is Tia Penny here with us.
00:29 So we're kind of like having a little "Hunger Games"
00:31 theme going on.
00:32 And so in the movie, she is an artist, the character,
00:36 the star.
00:37 And so we wanted to bring you in, because you're our star.
00:39 How are you doing?
00:40 I'm good.
00:40 How are you doing?
00:41 Good.
00:42 Listen, I remember when we first started,
00:44 the guitar was bigger than you.
00:45 And now look at you.
00:47 You have released singles.
00:48 You've been traveling New York.
00:49 You've been traveling the country,
00:50 touring, all kinds of stuff.
00:51 And so we're very lucky to get you home this weekend.
00:54 I'm so happy to be here.
00:56 I love this show.
00:56 Where are you performing this weekend?
00:59 I have two events on Saturday.
01:00 One is 2 to 4 at Local Trade, and the other
01:03 is at 5 PM for a fundraiser for this local radio station, KWSS.
01:10 All right.
01:10 Now look, and you're going to perform a couple of new songs
01:12 for us.
01:13 So let me just ask you, we've been watching Taylor Swift,
01:16 of course, become a billionaire.
01:17 Are you ready to become a billionaire?
01:19 Oh, I'm ready.
01:19 Are you?
01:20 [LAUGHTER]
01:21 That's great.
01:22 So you've released, of course, a couple of new songs
01:24 over the last couple of months, which is amazing.
01:26 And so you've been in New York doing stuff, touring.
01:29 How's that been?
01:30 It's been really cool.
01:32 All the recording stuff is just amazing.
01:34 I mean, it's really cool to have come this far
01:36 to be able to put out my own stuff in the world.
01:37 Yeah.
01:38 It's really fun.
01:38 Well, I like it.
01:39 So would you like to, of course, do us one of your songs?
01:42 Yeah, sure.
01:42 Which one are you going to play for us?
01:44 This is my latest release.
01:46 It's called "Goodbye."
01:49 I wrote it in kind of an emotional state.
01:52 I was worried about my friend one night,
01:55 worried that they wouldn't be there the next day.
01:58 So I partnered with Teen Lifeline for the music video.
02:02 Yeah.
02:02 I like it.
02:03 All right, take it away.
02:04 [MUSIC - TEEN LIFELINE, "GOODBYE"]
02:08 [GUITAR PLAYING]
02:14 Didn't I see it coming?
02:18 Quiet for weeks on end.
02:22 Still a big shock, a scare that haunts my life.
02:26 Thought you had lost all hope.
02:34 Guess I just didn't know if you would be alive that night.
02:41 Oh, please tell me that I didn't mean to say goodbye.
02:50 I, I, and I don't want to leave you, not tonight, tonight,
02:58 tonight.
