00:00 >> Do you feel like your role in the offense has maybe evolved this year and
00:02 you feel like you're kind of settling into something?
00:05 >> I definitely think I'm settling into something.
00:07 You get later in the season and teams watch a lot more films.
00:10 So everybody has to be used in a little bit different way to be creative and
00:14 they're doing a great job of that.
00:16 So I just happen to benefit from it.
00:19 >> In your career you haven't faced this team before.
00:20 What have you heard about Arizona State in this program?
00:24 >> Obviously, I know Coach Dilley and he's a great guy and
00:26 he got some playing really hard watching film.
00:28 Defense, they do a lot of things that cause some people some trouble.
00:33 And then I've obviously seen the history of it.
00:36 They're hard to go down there and play and say all this and that.
00:39 So looking forward to it.
00:41 >> You've seen the history, are familiar with it.
00:42 What is the history from your perspective then?
00:45 >> Just obviously like the 2019 season and I think there's a season before that.
00:49 I was a fan growing up and getting recruited.
00:51 So I watched some of those games and I'm not gonna talk about it.
00:57 >> Are you aware at all just how close you are to having
01:01 most acceptance in a single season for your position?
01:03 Is that something that matters to you at all?
01:06 >> I didn't know that at all.
01:07 And I'm just trying to win as many games as possible and take us to a playoff.
01:11 So that's really what our goal is.
01:13 We're tight in room.
01:14 We kind of have something we don't really look at.
01:16 It's just let's do the best we can.
01:18 So I didn't even know that.
01:20 >> You want us to tell you how close you are?
01:22 >> Sure. >> Ten catches away.
01:25 >> Yeah, I didn't know that at all.
01:27 That's pretty cool.
01:28 It's a testament to my coach and Bo and
01:30 God's gifted me the opportunity to be here.
01:33 It's such a blessing.
01:34 So that's pretty cool.
01:35 >> Are you aware at all of the legacy of the position?
01:37 Players have come through here.
01:38 That's a pretty big honor.
01:40 The name too.
01:42 >> Yeah, definitely.
01:42 So pretty cool.
01:44 Over the summer, Ed Dixon kind of got in contact with us and
01:48 we got on Zoom with him every weekend and did some things.
01:52 Just meeting some of the older tight ends that have gone through here.
01:54 And there's a rich tradition of tight ends that played really well in the NFL and
01:58 in college and doing big things beyond football.
02:01 And so we've actually taken quite the pride in the position.
02:05 Coach Ko even who helps out around here is an old tight end guy.
02:08 And it's a really rich history.
02:11 So we take a lot of pride in that.
