00:00 You're too tall!
00:02 You're too short.
00:04 Well...
00:06 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best sitcom moments that make great water cooler fodder the next day.
00:17 Watch out for spoilers ahead.
00:19 We were on a break!
00:21 Number 10. Will's Dad Returns.
00:26 The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
00:28 One of the central themes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air revolves around the fact that Will hasn't seen his father Lou in quite some time.
00:36 You can be with your father whenever you want.
00:38 You can eat with him and argue with him. He's there for you.
00:41 You know where my father is?
00:43 No.
00:45 Neither do I.
00:46 But that all changed in a later episode of season 4 when Will unexpectedly encounters Lou while working at a restaurant.
00:54 At first, it seems like he's ready to be back in his son's life, but the rest of the family, especially Uncle Phil, have concerns.
01:01 Wake up, Will! This is the same guy who didn't think enough of you to pick up the damn phone!
01:07 He made a mistake.
01:10 Unfortunately, they're right. Will's father abandons him once more, but not before Phil has a devastating and riveting conversation with him about what fatherhood means.
01:20 Will is not a coat that you hang in the closet, then pick it up when you're ready to wear it.
01:24 His life goes on. He's not supposed to be here for you. You're supposed to be here for him.
01:29 It's a terribly sad episode and one that really showed off the dramatic acting chops of the show's comedic cast.
01:35 Sammy Davis! There he is! I told you he was coming! There he is right out there on the stoop! Come on in, Mr. Davis! Come on!
01:46 Oh, Mr. Davis! It's an honor!
01:48 When a literal member of the Rat Pack shows up on your TV show, it's bound to get people talking.
01:54 At the beginning of the episode, "Sammy's Visit," Archie has taken a job driving taxis.
01:59 To his surprise, one of his first customers is none other than musician and actor Sammy Davis Jr.
02:06 Archie don't need no reward for doing something for you!
02:10 Hey, don't insult the guest in your own home, hon.
02:13 She don't know what she's saying there, Mr. Davis.
02:17 When Davis forgets his briefcase in the back of Archie's cab, he has to come to the Bunker household to pick it up.
02:23 Tensions rise as Archie, who was nervous about the meeting, slips into his bigoted ways.
02:28 But none of this phases Davis.
02:30 If you were prejudiced, you'd walk around thinking that you're better than anybody else in the world.
02:34 But I can honestly say, having spent these marvelous moments with you, you ain't better than anybody.
02:41 The episode's iconic moment comes when a super chill Davis plants a big kiss on Archie's face while they're taking a picture.
02:48 We always knew it was going to be hard to leave the place where everybody knows your name.
02:56 But it's still crazy to think that about 42.4 million households tuned in for the Cheers finale, just to say goodbye to that little bar in Boston.
03:05 Diane, what are you doing here?
03:08 [Screams]
03:10 You invited me, remember?
03:14 This number makes One for the Road the second highest rated series finale of all time for any show, sitcom or not.
03:21 Judging by how many amazing events unfolded during the episode, it's no surprise it was watched by everyone and their mother.
03:28 How hot did they get it?
03:30 How hot would you like?
03:34 Can I interest you folks in dessert? Just a check, please.
03:37 Quickly.
03:38 Diane Chambers, the character played by Shelley Long, returned to the show for the first time in years.
03:44 We bet the reunion between her and Sam definitely got everyone talking the next day.
03:49 Are you really in love with this woman or are you trying to love her because you're afraid of ending up alone?
03:55 Think about it.
04:01 For a show about nothing, Seinfeld sure gave us a lot to talk about.
04:05 The entire show ended with the group going to jail for what essentially amounts to harassment.
04:10 Spend a year removed from society so that you can contemplate the manner in which you have conducted yourselves.
04:21 But no episode of the beloved sitcom got people talking more than the contest.
04:26 In this installment, the central cast of characters compete to see who can go the longest without pleasuring themselves.
04:33 You don't think I can?
04:34 No chance.
04:35 You think you could?
04:37 Well, I know I can hold out longer than you.
04:39 Care to make it interesting?
04:42 NBC executives didn't exactly love this idea being the main conflict for their beloved show,
04:48 so the writer had to be creative when choosing what language to use.
04:51 If you've ever heard someone say the phrase "master of my domain" and weren't sure what they meant, well, now you know.
04:58 When we think of cop shows, we generally think of something a bit more serious than Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
05:16 Who wore it best? Who wore it best?
05:19 Terry.
05:20 What? Come on!
05:22 You should change, Boyle.
05:23 Not here.
05:25 But the show got most of us talking whenever it took on a more somber subject matter.
05:30 In the episode "Mumu," Sergeant Terry Jeffords is almost arrested simply for being out at night.
05:36 It's only when he also identifies himself as a police officer that the other cop backs down.
05:41 Did you tell him you're a cop?
05:42 I tried to, but things escalated so quickly and I didn't have my badge on me.
05:46 I eventually told him and he finally looked me up in the system and let me go.
05:49 Terry later sits down with the arresting officer, but he refuses to admit that the reason he almost arrested him was because of his race.
05:56 The episode stirred up discussions, not just because of Terry Crews' great performance, but also due to the frank way it handled racial profiling.
06:04 I'm gonna do something about it.
06:06 So I don't care if it might hurt my career.
06:08 I'm filing that report.
06:10 Even if I have to go over your head to do it.
06:13 We spent the entirety of the show "How I Met Your Mother" waiting to discover who really was the mother of Ted's children.
06:23 This girl with the bass guitar, is that her?
06:28 But even when we found out, we could never have predicted the shocking twist that was to come at the end of the sitcom.
06:35 In the finale titled "Last Forever", the writers take us through the gang's lives after Ted meets Tracy, the titular mother.
06:42 Will you marry me on Thursday? I called your office, you got nothing on Thursday.
06:48 Will you marry me on Thursday?
06:50 Things go on relatively normally, but then a bomb drops.
06:54 Ted reveals that after he married Tracy, she developed a terminal illness and died.
06:59 And I carried it with me when she got sick.
07:03 Even then, in what can only be called the worst of times, all I could do was thank God.
07:08 To spend so long wondering who the mother might be and have it end up like this?
07:13 It definitely had us all up in arms.
07:15 "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" isn't necessarily known for its earnestness or sincerity.
07:25 When your central characters are this narcissistic and terrible, there's really not a lot of room for sweetness.
07:31 I love you.
07:33 Whatever.
07:35 Whatever!
07:39 However, something unexpected happens in the show's 13th season.
07:43 By this point, it's been a while since the character Mac came out as gay, but he was yet to let his father in on this.
07:49 For the big revelation, Mac chooses an unconventional approach, performing an interpretive dance for his dad, who is in prison.
07:56 Maybe I could just show you how I feel inside.
08:01 Dad, I'm gay.
08:05 While it may sound silly, the show handles this moment with incredible grace, and completely sells it with a stellar performance from Rob McElhenney.
08:14 Oh my God.
08:17 I can't.
08:22 Number 3. "Little Ricky - I Love Lucy"
08:26 When it comes to television firsts, this is a big one.
08:30 "I Love Lucy" was one of the most popular shows of all time, and in 1953, it set an incredible record.
08:36 In order to utilize the real-life pregnancy of star Lucille Ball, the show wrote one for the character of Lucy.
08:42 Yes. Really? Yes.
08:44 Why didn't you tell me? Well, you didn't give me a chance.
08:47 And you can't? No.
08:48 Kiss me!
08:50 I'm gonna be a father!
08:53 This was possibly the first time a real-life pregnancy was woven into the fabric of a show, and the entire country was riveted.
09:00 Almost 75% of Americans with a TV set, or 44 million people, tuned in to watch Lucy give birth.
09:07 I'm gonna be right here. You just take it easy.
09:10 Okay, I'll take it toozy.
09:12 Gee, I only have 45 minutes. I'll have to hurry.
09:17 The show held that record, until it was broken by none other than Elvis.
09:21 The only person who could get 1950s America talking more than Lucy.
09:25 Vivian, I'm pregnant.
09:39 Just one year before Roe v. Wade granted a protected right to abortion in the United States,
09:46 the television show "Mod" was already making it a talking point in households.
09:50 In the show's first season, the show's protagonist, Mod, finds out that she is pregnant at the age of 47.
09:56 Mother, mother, you're 47 years old. Walter's 49. This is no time to be having a baby.
10:02 The rest of the two-part episode deals with different characters' reactions to Mod's pregnancy,
10:07 and her internal struggle over what to do.
10:09 Despite her personal objections to abortion, Mod ultimately decides to not have a child, based on where she is in her life.
10:16 It was a watershed moment for television, and one that definitely got people talking.
10:21 I think it would be wrong to have a child at our age.
10:24 Oh, so do I, Walter. Oh, Walter, so do I!

10:45 Number 1. We Were On A Break.
10:48 Friends, even just reading the words, you can hear Ross Geller's manic tone of voice as he screams them out.
10:54 We were on a break!
10:57 In the third season of Friends, Ross and Rachel take a break from their relationship, during which Ross sleeps with another woman.
11:04 When Rachel eventually finds out about this from Gunther, it results in an explosive fight between the couple.
11:10 Look, I didn't think there was a relationship to jeopardize. I thought we were broken up.
11:14 We were on a break.
11:16 That, for all I knew, could last forever. That, to me, is a break up.
11:19 Rachel maintains that taking a break is not the same as breaking up, and the two argue about this idea throughout the rest of the series.
11:26 Whenever the topic of their split came up on the show, it got America talking.
11:31 Oh, I'm sorry. Were you speaking to me or sleeping with someone else?
11:34 We were on a break.
11:37 You know, Ross, why don't you just put that on your answering machine?
11:40 Were they on a break? Does that excuse what Ross did?
11:43 It seems we may never settle that debate.
