00:00 My name is Hannah Paul and I am responsible for the dummy technology at the testing center.
00:05 The test is very special because we can see how we fulfill our approach of real-life safety
00:12 regardless of size and gender.
00:16 Dummies are a measuring device which are used to evaluate the safety of our cars.
00:23 But there's up to 150 sensors which are inside those dummies.
00:28 So the sensors measure different forces, different accelerations and compressions.
00:38 And those measurements are directly linked to possibilities of injuries.
00:44 In the 80s, there was only one dummy type available, a male frontal impact dummy.
00:53 The dummy population has widened a lot in the last decades.
00:57 So nowadays we have dummies representing women, men and children.
01:02 And we have dummies for different load cases such as frontal impact, side impact and rear
