00:29 Aside from his participation in the 30th APEC leaders' summit in the United States, President

00:34 Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. also attended economic meetings which yielded positive results.

00:40 According to the Presidential Communications Office, the Philippines has secured over US$600

00:45 million worth of investment pledges during the official working visit of the president

00:50 to the United States.

00:52 This includes investment commitment in the telecommunications sector, semiconductor and

00:56 electronics, pharmaceutical and healthcare, artificial intelligence for weather forecasting,

01:02 and renewable energy.

01:04 The country has also obtained a commitment for technological advancement including the

01:07 deployment of the first two Internet microgeo satellites in the country.

01:12 The president also received technology-related commitment, particularly the largest AI-driven

01:16 weather forecasting in Asia, which will help in strengthening the country's response to

01:21 climate change.

01:23 This was made possible by an agreement between the Department of Science and Technology and

01:27 US-based company Atmo.

01:29 The investment pledges also include the first specialty oncology hospital that will help

01:34 Filipinos in battling cancer.

01:36 An agreement between Lloyd Laboratories and DiffGen was also signed, where a USFDA-approved

01:42 manufacturing facility will be constructed that will intensify the country's presence

01:46 in the global pharmaceutical industry.

01:48 Meralco and Ultrasafe Nuclear Corporation signed an agreement for Sustainable Energy

01:53 Project Plan for cheaper and reliable access to electricity.

01:57 Discussions with US companies on investment in the semiconductor industry are also expected.
