00:00 So these are two great projects that we're really happy to be supporting through this
00:04 grant program that we're rolling out today.
00:06 It's going to enhance the service provision, the support here in Wagga, across the Riverina
00:12 and across the country with nearly $17 million of grant programs.
00:15 And it's a great demonstration of the way in which our government is committed to delivering
00:20 a better future for veterans and families, making sure they get the support, not just
00:25 that they need, but frankly that they deserve as well.
00:28 I'll let Matt say a few words as well.
00:31 Well welcome Matt Keogh to Wagga Wagga.
00:34 We've turned on the weather for you but thank you for your government's commitment to our
00:40 city, to our region and to our veterans in particular.
00:44 Pro Patria and RSL Life Care work so hard for our community and have done so for such
00:50 a long time.
00:51 And they deserve this, they need it and they will put the money to good use.
00:56 Rest assured, as you've just said, there are thousands of current serving uniformed personnel
01:01 here in Wagga Wagga.
01:02 We're the only inland regional centre with all three arms of the Defence, Army, Air Force
01:09 and Navy, even though we're a long, long way from the nearest drop of seawater.
01:13 But not only that, we've got a huge veterans community, thousands of veterans who call
01:18 Wagga Wagga home, who love the Riverina, who need and deserve and expect the very best
01:23 of care after their service is done.
01:26 And thanks to this initiative, thanks to this funding, Pro Patria and RSL Life Care will
01:32 be able to continue to provide that support and that service.
01:35 I also want to thank all of you for turning out today.
01:38 I know how much this means to you.
01:40 Each and every one of you and collectively, you've done so much volunteering, so much
01:45 work, so many efforts have gone into making sure that these two wellbeing, wellness centres
01:51 are off the ground and the community has been so philanthropic.
01:55 They've been so giving, so generous, but that's the Wagga Wagga way.
01:59 And now with this support from the Commonwealth, that can only add to the services that indeed
02:04 Pro Patria and RSL have provided and will continue to provide.
02:08 So thank you, Matt.
02:09 Welcome to our city.
02:10 I'm sure you'll find very friendly veterans, people who certainly are cognisant of the
02:16 fact that you've come here today to make this announcement.
02:19 And I do thank you earnestly and honestly on behalf of the citizens of Wagga Wagga and
02:24 indeed the wider region, because this funding is important.
02:27 This funding is deserved and you've come good.
02:29 So thank you very much.
02:30 Thank you.
02:31 Thank you.
