00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays, and if even half of these theories about GTA 6 prove to be true,
00:05 it could be Rockstar's magnum opus.
00:12 Business Tycoon
00:13 The
00:25 Grand Theft Auto protagonists have had a variety of motivations over the years, but one of
00:30 the main driving forces throughout all the games is accumulating as much wealth as possible,
00:36 and GTA 6 could potentially lean into this even more.
00:41 Players have been able to purchase properties as far back as Vice City, but coupled with
00:45 GTA 5's stock market mechanics, GTA 6 could lean fully into the Business Tycoon side of
00:51 the player's rise to the top.
00:53 This could come in many forms, such as writing the businesses as either legitimate or an
00:58 illegal front for players' more illicit activities.
01:02 Think extortion and blackmail, import and export, or even building a drug empire with
01:08 players needing to bribe the right people, as well as planned smuggling routes for their
01:12 shipments.
01:13 In the criminal world of GTA, the number of illicit activities is nearly endless.
01:19 She can do like 0-60 in 4 seconds flat, dude.
01:22 She can hold like 20 barrels of the best Jamaican smoke right in the hole.
01:27 Go ahead, dude.
01:28 She's ready to fly.
01:30 Virtual Theft
01:31 Rockstar have long been the pioneers of the gaming industry, leading the charge for open
01:36 world game design and player freedom.
01:39 With GTA 5's port to the PS4 and Xbox One, they also opened a new way to experience the
01:44 world of Los Santos by giving players the option to play the entire game in first person.
01:50 With numerous advancements in technology over the last decade, Rockstar could once again
01:56 offer players a new way to play and live out their grand theft autoing fantasies by letting
02:01 them explore their world in virtual reality.
02:04 We honestly have no idea how this would work, but it could be a bombshell reveal for players
02:09 who truly want to be immersed in Rockstar's next GTA outing.
02:14 Familiar Faces
02:15 You know who I am?
02:19 Do you know who I am?
02:21 Do you?
02:22 No.
02:23 While all of the Grand Theft Auto games seem to be mostly self-contained, that doesn't
02:27 mean there hasn't been some crossover throughout the numerous entries.
02:31 From GTA 3's Claude making a brief appearance in San Andreas to Paki from GTA 4 joining
02:36 the team's heist team as a gunman, as well as Johnny Klebitz meeting his end at Trevor's
02:41 hand, Rockstar is no stranger to dropping fan-favorite characters into their sequels
02:46 for long-time fans to encounter.
02:49 With GTA 6 undoubtedly being one of Rockstar's biggest games to date, there's a high chance
02:54 players will cross paths with any number of past or future protagonists from the series,
03:00 depending on the game's time period.
03:02 Given their popularity, players could easily cross paths with the fan-favorite characters
03:07 of GTA 5, but only time will tell who, if any, could make a comeback.
03:22 Timeline
03:34 With seven mainline games, not including their numerous expansions and spin-offs, the
03:39 Grand Theft Auto series has been carjacking people over a number of decades.
03:44 With their most recent titles having primarily stuck to a more modern era, there is also
03:49 a possibility that players could travel back in time to the 70s, or even more excitingly,
03:55 across multiple decades with players seeing the rise, fall, and eventual resurrection
04:00 of their empire.
04:01 While this would be by far the most ambitious approach to their newest entry, especially
04:07 because it would mean they would need to design and build multiple versions of cities, cars,
04:12 and characters, there's no denying this would set a new benchmark in open worlds and
04:17 once again prove Rockstar is the king of the genre they helped popularize.
04:32 Branching Storyline
04:44 In their most recent epics, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar experimented with
04:50 offering players choices on how to affect their characters' playthrough.
04:54 While these choices were arguably much deeper in Red Dead 2 than GTA 5, Rockstar could further
04:59 develop this mechanic and offer players even more choice in how their story plays out.
05:04 While it's unlikely players would be given the wealth of options normally seen in something
05:09 like a Mass Effect game, they could be offered branching story moments that could influence
05:13 the narrative's overall outcome.
05:15 We loved molding our Arthur into a man on a path of redemption just as much as a murderous
05:21 psychopath with no moral compass, and we'd love to see these options expanded upon in
05:26 Rockstar's next epic tale.
05:36 Rage 2.0
05:43 In recent years, games like Cyberpunk 2077 have stepped up the game, so to speak, when
05:49 it comes to detailed cityscapes.
05:52 With the same attention to detail on the street level with densely packed alleyways and businesses,
05:57 the player can freely enter and explore instead of them being merely window dressing.
06:02 While it's unlikely Rockstar has had time to develop a new engine since using it for
06:06 Red Dead 2, a more powerful version would show off what the team is truly capable of.
06:12 Not only would a new engine be something to look forward to, so would more interactivity
06:17 within the environments themselves, especially if they managed to incorporate dynamic weather
06:23 effects as well.
06:24 Somehow, with even more powerful tech, the number of objects players can interact with
06:29 or destroy has dropped significantly with recent games, and we'd love to see maybe
06:34 not a fully destructible world, but certainly one with more realistic physics.
06:39 GTA Always Online
06:48 It's no secret that GTA Online has become a worldwide runaway success that far exceeded
06:59 even Rockstar's own expectations, and will no doubt be an integral part of the next entry
07:05 in their best-selling series as well.
07:07 However, given their undisputed success with GTA Online, there also comes the possibility
07:13 that that mode could become synonymous with GTA 6, integrating both single-player and
07:19 multiplayer elements into one always-online live service juggernaut.
07:24 With so much revenue being made just from GTA Online alone, there's no way that it
07:29 wouldn't play a major role, but we're hoping Rockstar won't sacrifice their excellent
07:33 storytelling, worldbuilding, and characters for yet another live service game in an industry
07:39 swimming with them.
07:53 RPG Elements Leveled Up
07:55 The GTA series has never been shy about changing up their formula and getting a little experimental,
08:01 but San Andreas and GTA 5 stand out especially with their RPG-like features that allow players
08:06 to customize their CJ, Franklin, Trevor, and Michael in a myriad of different styles, the
08:12 latter three even having their own stats for players to consider during missions.
08:17 Rockstar could offer players even more creative freedom with GTA 6, allowing them to fully
08:22 customize their character as well as offer activities for players to level up skills,
08:27 giving them more freedom to play their way.
08:30 While the system will undoubtedly be less open-ended than something like the recent
08:33 Saints Row, Rockstar seems to have left much of their over-the-top silliness in the past,
08:38 there is still a wealth of options that could be available to the player to fully immerse
08:43 themselves in Rockstar's newest GTA.
08:46 Vice City Return
08:54 Rockstar loves to revisit the classics.
08:57 After returning to Liberty City with GTA 4, the developers also returned to Los Santos
09:02 in GTA 5, and with GTA 6, we'd love for them to return to Vice City.
09:08 We've gotten glimpses of what a modern version of Vice City could look like with the more
09:12 tropical beach locales in Los Santos, but we'd like to see a fully realized GTA-style
09:17 take on Miami and Miami Beach.
09:20 Beyond this, there are some who are hoping for a fully open-world USA, albeit not 1-to-1
09:27 of course, but something akin to what Ubisoft's The Crew attempted to do.
09:31 However, we feel this would stretch Rockstar's strength of highly detailed open-world cities
09:36 a bit too far, and could end up falling into the trap of open-world emptiness other titles
09:41 who've attempted something similar have fallen victim to.
09:54 Both Sides of the Law
10:01 Arguably the most popular theory is that players will be taking on the role of a female protagonist
10:06 for the first time in the series, but we might also once again be given more than one protagonist,
10:12 this time one on the side of the law.
10:15 This simple tweak would fundamentally change the dynamic of the series well known for shirking
10:20 the law at every given opportunity, especially if players are taking on the role of law enforcement
10:26 on the hunt for our other protagonist.
10:29 Making story decisions that can affect how close law enforcement gets to capturing your
10:33 criminal and using what you've learned from playing it straight to stay one step ahead
10:37 would make for an exciting cat-and-mouse game entirely within the player's control, and
10:42 would certainly break the mold that made the series a household name for over two decades.
