00:09 And we thought we would end today with a drag race.

00:13 Before we get started with the drag race, who is Oscar?

00:16 And why are we giving him a big day out?

00:18 Well, Oscar's mom, Jess, reached out to us

00:21 and told us that Oscar was a huge fan of Car Expert,

00:24 and he wanted to meet me.

00:25 Oscar suffers from muscular dystrophy.

00:28 And we thought, let's put a day on for Oscar

00:31 and get him and his family's mind off things.

00:34 Today is all about charity and raising money for the Save

00:38 Our Sons Duchenne Foundation.

00:40 Every single dollar we earn from ads on this video

00:43 will go to Save Our Sons.

01:42 First, though, I wanted to take Oscar to Alborz's house.

01:46 Alborz, Tony, and I started Car Expert.

01:48 And Alborz has some pretty cool cars in his garage.

01:51 No Holdens, unfortunately.

01:58 And much to my surprise, Oscar was

02:38 Before Oscar got anybody arrested,

02:41 we stuck him in the Lambo with Alborz

02:43 to collect his lunch before hitting the road

02:45 to Queensland Raceway.

02:47 Hello, can we just get one cheeseburger, please?

02:49 I just thought it'd be cool to go through a drive-thru

02:54 in a Lamborghini.

02:58 How expensive is this car?

03:02 This car is about $650,000.

03:20 GTS for Oscar's big day out.

03:23 We also discovered that Oscar is an A-grade prankster.

03:27 He switched on my heated seats when I wasn't watching.

03:40 And I go, gee, it's hot in here.

03:43 And then I look down, and she's pressed all the buttons.

03:46 When we arrived at Queensland Raceway,

03:48 we threw the keys to the Porsches over to Atco

03:50 so he could set some lap times for the website.

03:53 We also used this opportunity to chat with Oscar's mom, Jess,

03:56 about what he's going through.

03:58 OK, so has Oscar had a fun day today?

03:59 He's had a blast today.

04:00 Good, I'm glad.

04:02 Can you run us through muscular dystrophy

04:04 and what Oscar, I guess, has now and what he'll

04:08 be experiencing in the future?

04:09 Yeah, sure.

04:10 So muscular dystrophy is basically

04:12 a lack of a protein called dystrophin

04:15 and what that protein does is holds your muscles together

04:17 in a matrix.

04:19 But he doesn't have that, so his muscles

04:21 will slowly deteriorate over time,

04:24 eventually leading to a wheelchair and a fair bit

04:27 of help during his life.

04:30 But he's still just like every other kid other than that.

04:32 He seems at the moment like he's just a fun-loving kid,

04:36 doesn't have a care in the world.

04:38 Does he know what he has?

04:40 Is he too young to understand that?

04:42 How does that process work?

04:43 So we've tried to be really honest with him

04:45 about what it is.

04:46 So he does know technically what it is

04:48 and what is probably going to happen,

04:51 but he also knows there's a lot of research going on

04:53 at the moment.

04:54 So anything could happen and help him, you know, help his life.

04:57 Where are they at with research and stuff

04:59 and why is it important for people

05:01 to donate as much as they can to the muscular dystrophy

05:04 foundations and charities out there?

05:05 The main problem is, is there are so many different types

05:08 of muscular dystrophy.

05:09 Even in the Duchenne type, there are so many different problems

05:13 with the genes.

05:15 But if we can get enough money to try and get a treatment that

05:19 would work with all of them, that's the main goal.

05:22 Now, back to where we started.

05:36 The challenge is to figure out whether the Porsche 911 GT3

05:40 is as quick as the GTS or quicker.

05:42 But more importantly, I want to shatter the dreams of Elbors

05:45 with his Lamborghini over here.

05:48 It doesn't have the best tyres and I'm hoping that we can beat

05:51 him in either of these two Porsches.

05:54 Now, Oscar, I have a very important question for you.

05:56 Which car should we put up first against the GT3?

06:00 Should we start with the red car or start with the Lambo?

06:03 Red car.

06:03 OK, so we're going to go with the red car.

06:05 Oscar's going to join me in the GT3

06:07 and I'm going to line them up and race them to the start

06:10 finish line over there.

06:11 Round Robin style, so two next to each other.

06:13 And then we're going to find out which one is the fastest.

08:07 is usually when you start to see the progression start

08:12 So I guess the positive side is that could mean a care carnival

08:15 We had some family friends who needed

08:17 one converted for wheelchairs.

08:18 And I'm like, well, it's--

08:20 I'm not going to say it could be worse,

08:21 but the carnival is a great car.

08:23 So you get a good car that is wheelchair

08:25 accessible and friendly.

08:26 So that's a win-win.

08:27 We watched your review on the carnival,

08:29 and it's top of the list.

08:30 Yes.
