Transfer Portal: Miami Needs At Least One Defensive Tackle
The Hurricanes will likely look for at least one defensive tackle in the Transfer Portal

00:00 Miami's needs at defensive tackle are quite honestly about size.
00:06 They're most likely going to lose Leonard Taylor to the draft based on projections.
00:11 And they're quite frankly not a massive unit up front to begin with.
00:15 And that's why Reuben Bain Jr., who's probably best still suited to play on
00:20 the edge, especially when he was a freshman, ended up taking reps on the interior.
00:25 It helped wear him out a little bit earlier, and
00:27 he's probably hit a bit of a wall here towards the end of the 2023 season.
00:32 One way to alleviate that is recruiting.
00:34 The other one obviously is the transfer portal, and that's the key here.
00:38 We're looking at at least one guy to be added next year.
00:45 Do note though, do not forget about a young man that they already picked up
00:48 in Burroughs, a kid that came over from Bama right before this season,
00:52 just wasn't gonna be able to play for the Kings this year.
00:55 He's 300 pounds plus, was a highly touted player at the University of Alabama,
01:00 never quite lived up to all the hype, but he does have the size and
01:03 all the athleticism that you're looking for.
01:06 If Miami can cultivate him and add one more, and you bring back Joshua Horton,
01:11 who played a little bit this year as a true freshman out of Langston Hughes High
01:14 School just out of Atlanta, and you keep bringing in guys from the portal,
01:19 this could be a pretty interesting unit.
01:21 One other note here, it's interesting to see which guys end up playing inside,
01:26 at least in spurts like Bain did.
01:28 Maybe somebody else along the defensive line moves inside,
01:31 at least periodically, because this defense from Guidry is very, very versatile.
01:37 They can run three man and four man fronts and do different things,
01:39 that helps out.
01:41 Miami's size though is the key.
01:43 At least one guy needs to be added for the 2024 transfer portal.
