00:00 Hello and welcome to the Adam Smith Theatre here in Kirkcaldy where tonight is the 2023
00:09 Race Rovers Hall of Fame. Even that old Adam Smith behind me is wearing a Rover scarf tonight
00:14 as indeed he should be. The show is the first since 2019, since the pandemic, and the organisers
00:19 have pulled out all the stops to make it a memorable one. We have special guests coming
00:22 in tonight including John Barnes, Gary McAllister and Pikito, the Rover's legend who's flying
00:26 in from Gran Canaria especially for the occasion. And there's a number of inductees to be honoured
00:32 on stage this evening including Danny Lennon, Jason Thompson, Grant Murray, Tommy Hislop
00:37 and Gordon Arthur. And one of them will also become the Gourley inductee which is presented
00:42 in honour and in memory of Ali Gourley, one of the founding members of this event who
00:46 sadly passed away several years ago. It's a promise to a night to remember, lots of anecdotes,
00:51 lots of humour and it's to be in front of a packed house once again. Former race star
00:57 Pikito flew in from Gran Canaria especially to be part of the night, only to be surprised
01:02 with a secret induction into the Hall of Fame. He made 122 appearances for the club and was
01:07 part of a memorable promotion winning side. Tommy Hislop was unveiled as the Gourley inductee
01:13 in memory of the late Ali Gourley. Tommy made 268 appearances between 1965 and 1975. A lot
01:21 of inductees was Kirkcaldy-born goalkeeper Gordon Arthur who played 222 games with Rovers.
01:27 His last season also saw him celebrate promotion back to the top division of Scottish football.
01:33 Also into the Hall of Fame, Jason Thompson, the captain of Race Rovers Ramsden's Cup winning
01:36 side of 2014. And along with him, Grant Murray, inducted in recognition of his role as a player
01:44 and as the manager at Starks Park when they won that trophy against Rangers at Easter
01:49 Road. And the final inductee, Danny Lennon, the club's leading scorer in European games.
01:55 His tally of four included the famous goal against Bayern Munich.
