00:00 >> Devonta, you guys have four out of your last six at home,
00:05 four and one at home, and it felt like the last two games, the fans,
00:11 and you guys were kind of feeding off of each other.
00:12 Did you guys sense that, and
00:13 how important is that to get that kind of support from your fans?
00:17 >> It's huge, I mean, we came out, obviously,
00:19 it was at a critical point with a lot of things going on with the team.
00:22 So it was just kind of right on time, having them show up and be loud and
00:26 therefore, so us connecting with them.
00:28 We feed off them and vice versa.
00:30 So we obviously gotta give them a lot to cheer for, and that's the plan.
00:33 So, but what we've had the last few games at home has been big for us, and
00:37 we're gonna need that more to keep protecting that home too.
00:42 >> As part of, the Raiders have only been here four years, so
00:44 it's still kind of new.
00:46 But how important is it for you to kind of be part of what turns around this
00:52 Allegiant Stadium into a place that's really a bad place for opponents to come to?
00:56 >> Yeah, I mean, that's what I'm here for.
00:58 I came here with the intentions of making it tough on teams coming in this building
01:02 and not making it a friendly place to play.
01:05 And Oakland, that's how it's been historically.
01:07 Everybody coming there, they already knew they were gonna have to deal with the fans.
01:10 And we're starting to feel that from our fans now.
01:12 So we just gotta continue to do our part on the team wise to make sure we apply that
01:17 pressure and making it a not fun place to come here and play.
01:21 >> Well, I'll tell you, what are you seeing from Aiden O'Connell just in his few
01:25 stars in terms of his development as he's getting more settled into being a starter?
01:29 >> A lot of good, obviously a lot of things he can learn from as well as that comes
01:32 with playing quarterback in his league.
01:34 Those are those, and I think somebody said to me after the game,
01:37 wrong things of playing this position.
01:39 And it's the toughest one to play, but he's done a great job,
01:42 made some big strides since when he first got here.
01:45 And just continue to evolve and learn.
01:48 I think that's the biggest part that you gotta be willing to be hard on yourself,
01:52 which he clearly is.
01:53 And I think everybody in this building and
01:55 outside the building sees that he's that way on himself.
01:58 And he just wants to be as good of a player as he can for this team.
02:02 So he's not like a rookie, as I've said before.
02:06 It's a lot of things that he does that are very vet-like, and
02:09 it's gonna give him that advantage moving forward.
02:11 He's gotta stay with it, and we gotta do our part to help.
02:13 >> What about another rookie that's kind of become a big part of your offense here
02:17 in the last few weeks, and Michael Mayer, what stands out about him?
02:21 >> Another one, I mean, a really mature guy came in and
02:23 got a good dose of Max Crockett to kinda show him what the NFL is all about.
02:28 And there's not gonna be many guys out there that can emulate what Max does every
02:33 day in practice for him.
02:34 So having those type of reps and taking it as serious as he does,
02:38 making big plays in these games.
02:40 He's been a big part of our offense, especially over the past few weeks.
02:44 So we just gotta keep feeding him, and he's gotta keep doing what he's doing.
02:48 But it's very promising from what I've seen from him,
02:51 asked a lot of questions, and you can tell he's very detailed.
02:54 And that's what you have to have in this offense.
02:56 >> Not sure if you watched the game last night, but if you do, as a player,
02:59 how do you approach watching a game?
03:00 Especially when the opponent is the next opponent for you guys.
03:04 >> Well, when I watch on TV, I just watch the game.
03:07 Sometimes I pay more attention than other times, but
03:09 if it's an opponent that I'm gonna play, at the end of the day,
03:12 I'm gonna watch the tape and I'm gonna really dive into that.
03:14 So I typically like to watch like a fan.
03:17 Oftentimes, catch myself watching like an opponent sometimes.
03:20 There'll be a couple replays, but for the most part, just try to enjoy it.
03:25 My family don't like when I sit there and rewind the tape.
03:27 Even my wife will watch me watching tape.
03:29 I should sit there and try to watch it, but
03:31 I'm replaying the play 15 times before it even starts.
03:33 So I try to just watch it and enjoy it as much as I can.
03:36 >> What have you seen from the Chiefs when you watched them last night and
03:39 then again today on the play?
03:41 >> I mean, it's the same team that they've been.
03:44 I mean that from a respectful standpoint.
03:46 It's been, they got a lot of weapons, a lot of guys on both sides of the ball that
03:50 are impact players and we gotta make sure we come and
03:54 bring our heart out playing against a team like that.
03:57 They're the champs for a reason.
03:58 We gotta do what we gotta do to stop that.
04:02 But we just gotta put our best foot forward and go out there and
04:06 do what we gotta do.
04:07 And we know what it takes.
04:09 It's just about executing.
04:10 It's a lot easier said than done.
04:11 But we got a good plan right now.
04:14 We just gotta find a good way to nail that down throughout the week and
04:17 come in on Sunday.
04:19 >> I always hear about the Raiders, Chiefs rivalry.
04:21 You've been through it a couple times now as a player.
04:22 Do you feel it out there as a manifest on the field?
04:24 Is there an extra intensity for these games?
04:26 >> Yeah, you can definitely feel it.
04:28 It's definitely something extra.
04:29 And for the way that they've historically won that battle,
04:34 you would think that it wouldn't be as much.
04:35 Cuz I think the way we would approach the Bears game when I was in Green Bay,
04:39 it wasn't like, my God, we gotta get up for the Bears.
04:42 It was a disrespectful approach almost.
04:45 Sometimes you feel that from them out there, which at the end of the day,
04:48 they play it how they wanna play it.
04:49 And then sometimes you feel that they treat it, they kinda respect that game,
04:53 and they take it real serious.
04:54 So those are good battles, and it's just two good teams going at it.
04:58 So we just gotta do our part, make sure we come out on top.
05:01 >> You're a dad, obviously.
05:02 Thanksgiving's coming up, the holidays are coming up.
05:05 How important is it for you to play that part and
05:08 play that role to your young family?
05:10 >> It's everything.
05:12 It's my birthday being Christmas Eve.
05:15 I wasn't the biggest Christmas fan growing up.
05:17 So Thanksgiving and now Father's Day are my two top ones.
05:21 And I definitely love that role I get to play in their life.
05:25 And watching them just develop every day is something that's beautiful to me.
05:30 So having this family time, having family around,
05:32 and being able to witness what I'm seeing every day is big for me.
05:35 >> Devonta, you guys have had a few more explosive plays over the last three weeks.
05:39 I'm curious as to what that does and how that impacts the offense in a positive way.
05:43 >> Well, I mean, it's just a lot less plays you gotta run.
05:45 It's pretty simple, simply put, the more you can make big plays,
05:48 you go down there, that makes a lot less third downs you gotta convert.
05:53 It's just a lot less room for error.
05:55 So we go out there and hit big plays, put ourselves in a position to at least have
05:59 three, that's the mindset.
06:01 But we've had three too many times this year and last, so
06:04 we wanna try to do everything we can to turn those into seven this remainder this year.
06:09 And yeah, I think we got some good stuff in to potentially make that the case, so
06:14 we just gotta execute.
06:16 >> Thanks Devonta.
