00:00 We also saw the Molecular Horizon Centre, which is doing some really important work around looking for cures for cancer,
00:07 looking at Alzheimer's disease and also antibiotic research as well.
00:11 So there are some fabulous stories out of our local university and I talk about the university a lot while I'm down in Canberra.
00:18 So for me this institute is very much about bringing together the best people in an environment that is supportive
00:28 and collaborative to solve some of the biggest challenges that we are facing.
00:32 The way that we plan to use the investment is to really support those people who have the talent, the knowledge and the expertise,
00:38 resource them to partner with the people that are able to put some of their discoveries into action.
00:46 The Molecular Centre here absolutely blew my mind in terms of the work that they're doing.
00:53 The researchers were so passionate, but again it's focused on things that are going to make a real difference,
00:58 not only their work in diseases, DNA, but also their relationships and commercialisation opportunities
01:06 are exactly the type of things that the Federal Government want to see universities take advantage of.
