00:00 So today I wanted to announce that we're pleased that the Men's and Women's Melbourne to Warrnambool
00:06 Race will now receive $80,000 for this year's race which is the February 24 event.
00:12 That constitutes a 40% increase in the funding. Gender equality is a really important
00:21 priority of our government and in scheduling the prize money it's very important that it's
00:29 a real shot in the arm for us. It's fantastic and the Melbourne to Warrnambool is just in
00:35 dimension. It's been going since 1895. It's Australia's greatest cycling event and we at
00:40 Warrnambool are very fortunate that generations in the past have looked after this great event
00:45 so that we can continue to deliver it. It's the second oldest one day bike ride in the world.
00:50 That's something to celebrate.
