00:00 (door slams)
00:01 - What are you doing in my bed?
00:02 - You're in my bed.
00:02 - Why am I in your bed, mom?
00:04 (dramatic music)
00:06 - What is happening?
00:07 - That's me, CT?
00:10 - Mom, Wyatt?
00:11 - Yeah.
00:13 (screams)
00:16 - I had so much fun watching "Family Switch."
00:19 - Yay!
00:20 - When I tell you, girl!
00:22 - Hi!
00:23 - You look this girly!
00:25 - The chemistry that you had with Jen
00:27 and just you popping off the screen.
00:28 - Didn't she pop off the screen?
00:30 - You didn't go off?
00:32 - Gas her up, because she really did.
00:34 - She really did, this is her movie.
00:36 - How proud are you of Emma?
00:37 - Beyond, beyond.
00:39 Listen, I developed this movie, I produced it,
00:42 I was there from the beginning,
00:44 and I didn't want a movie just,
00:46 I wanted an ensemble.
00:47 And I love breaking out young, talented people.
00:51 Brady Noon and Emma Meyer, it's so exciting.
00:55 It's so fun to see.
00:56 - It was the scenes for me,
00:57 the chemistry that you had with Mom over here,
00:58 when you're talking about the farting,
00:59 don't talk about farting,
01:00 are you gonna wear that to work?
01:01 It was just really great.
01:03 How fun was it to work with Jennifer Garner
01:06 in this industry as this leading star in the movie?
01:08 - It was so fun, I learned so much on this film.
01:11 She is quite the woman,
01:13 and she just helped me so much,
01:16 and I had such an amazing experience.
01:18 - I had an amazing experience watching it.
01:20 Can I tell you the opening scene,
01:22 the Jingle Bell Rock dance that you and Ed did,
01:26 and the crazy peppermint candy cane headband.
01:30 I said, "Okay, she got the moves,
01:32 "you know, you're a ballet dancer."
01:33 So I said, "She's still got it."
01:34 How fun was that scene,
01:36 making of it, rehearsing that with Ed,
01:39 and just watching him off stage
01:41 any time between things out there,
01:42 rehearsing his candy cane dance was just truly the best.
01:47 And these guys just looking at us like--
01:50 - I was trying not to laugh the whole time, it really was.
01:53 - We took it so seriously.
01:55 Ed and I were deadly serious.
01:57 - The dog peeing on the ground, the baby like barking.
02:00 I was like, "This movie is so chaotic,
02:01 "but it's so refreshing."
02:03 Emma, your favorite scene, take us to that moment.
02:05 What was your favorite scene,
02:06 a scene that you're very excited for viewers to watch?
02:08 - Oh, oh goodness.
02:10 There's a really fun car chase sequence that I love,
02:14 and it was so much fun to do.
02:17 It was just insane, I'm excited for that.
02:18 - I know which one you're talking about.
02:19 - Yeah, it was for real, I mean, we shot it on,
02:21 we closed down a highway and a bridge.
02:24 We shot it on a gimbal on stage, like up in the air.
02:28 We did all kinds of things to shoot this,
02:30 like a real action movie car chase.
02:33 There's no difference, but in our case, we got to be funny.
02:36 - Okay, Producer, I have to ask you,
02:38 because as I'm watching this,
02:39 just going back to the first scene
02:40 and going back to, well, the whole darn movie,
02:42 if I'm one of your kids and I'm watching,
02:44 I'm like either embarrassed or I'm like,
02:47 my mom's a cool mom.
02:48 Did you get cool points by doing a movie like this
02:52 with the kiddos?
02:52 Or are they like, oh my God, mom.
02:54 - I got cool points for being with Emma
02:56 and with Ed and Brady, but no,
02:58 I watched it with my son in his class yesterday
03:01 and the class had a blast
03:03 and my son was embarrassed going into it
03:06 'cause he knew what was coming,
03:08 but then when he saw his buddies having so much fun,
03:11 he had a great time.
03:12 But to me, the thing that made me the most excited,
03:15 I mean, I love hearing the kids laugh,
03:17 but there were a couple of my friends who were moms
03:19 who were chaperoning this outing
03:21 and they told me after that they cried
03:23 and I was like, yes.
03:25 - No, and that was for all ages, by the way.
03:27 I mean, even myself, I didn't cry,
03:28 but I got emotional throughout the movie.
03:30 - A little emotional, yeah.
03:31 - I've never seen the connectivity like this
03:32 and it's all about understanding
03:33 where someone else comes from.
03:35 How much do you feel like motherhood has on the roles
03:38 that you accept here in Hollywood,
03:39 especially a role like this?
03:41 Because 13 going on 30, that gave me that young tease,
03:43 you know, and I saw bits of you from then.
03:46 So how much does that have on roles like this?
03:48 - For sure.
03:49 I just feel like to be part of a kid's memory bank
03:52 of something happy that they experienced
03:54 with their family as a kid,
03:56 that is, that's joy for me.
03:58 I, you know, I was somewhere in,
04:01 with my family this summer and I was on a carousel
04:04 and it was dark and a little kid from another country
04:07 saw me and they were just like, yes, day.
04:10 And that, they waited, their whole family waited
04:13 so their child could meet me
04:14 and the fact that the kid recognized me,
04:16 the mom from yesterday and that they were so excited
04:19 and the whole family was like,
04:20 we loved that movie together.
04:22 That is, that's wonderful.
04:25 That is like a whole reason to get to do this job.
04:27 - That makes me so happy.
04:29 Emma, I gotta ask you, you know,
04:30 building this type of chemistry with the entire cast,
04:32 I just got finished talking with director, Mick G
04:34 and he just sang your praise,
04:36 talked about your maturity,
04:38 your level of being able to be so dynamic
04:40 and obviously that just, yes, yes, get chill bumps.
04:43 Don't get nervous, get blushy, whatever.
04:45 But it was so beautiful to see you truly shine on screen.
04:48 But I gotta ask you off screen,
04:50 I often like to ask this question.
04:52 How did you guys bond?
04:53 He told me that sometimes Jen would have things
04:55 at her house and he would see her baking pies.
04:58 Is that true?
04:58 'Cause I feel like he was lying to me
04:59 and I was like, hold on, is Jen cooking?
05:01 - We did, we went to your house a couple times.
05:03 - Really?
05:04 - Brady and I would go to Disney.
05:06 - What?
05:06 - Yeah, we had a lot of fun doing that.
05:09 Yeah, I think just, we were with each other so much
05:12 all day, every day and there was a lot of down time
05:14 so we'd just be goofing.
05:15 - Yeah, we were really, yeah, we just hung out.
05:18 We also, we had these babies to entertain
05:21 and we wanted them to love us so we all hung out together
05:24 so that we could play with the babies.
05:26 - I see.
05:27 - But you know who they were obsessed with?
05:28 - Who, let me guess.
05:30 - Emma, Emma, Emma.
05:32 - Oh, I was gonna say the dog.
05:34 I didn't know if the dog was involved at all there.
05:37 I also wanna ask you about holiday traditions.
05:39 Watching a movie like this, it got me really excited,
05:41 you know, because I don't have any Christmas stuff
05:44 up at my house.
05:45 I live alone, not to sound sad or anything,
05:47 but it got me in the mood.
05:50 It really got me in the mood and it got me going,
05:51 okay, it's time, it's time.
05:53 Holiday traditions for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
05:55 Go, Emma.
05:57 - Oh, Thanksgiving, just all my family together baking
06:01 and then Christmas, my sisters and I sleep
06:03 by the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve.
06:05 That's one of our traditions that we still do.
06:08 - Waiting for Santa Claus.
06:09 - Waiting for Santa Claus.
06:10 - Jen, what about you?
06:11 For Thanksgiving and for Christmas.
06:12 - For Thanksgiving, I'm making a small Thanksgiving
06:16 this year, so I asked my kids what they had to have
06:19 to make it mean Thanksgiving and they were like,
06:21 okay, well, turkey in your graving and homemade bread
06:24 and pies and they were going to--
06:26 - Oh, Jen.
06:27 - Uh-huh.
06:28 - Make cheese, make cheese.
06:30 - Oh my God.
06:31 - I just stepped on your shoes.
06:33 - Oh my God.
06:34 - I did, I did.
06:35 - We were just wrapping up.
06:36 - I did, she told me she was gonna hug me
06:37 and she said to lower my center of gravity.
06:39 (laughing)
06:40 - Oh, jeez.
06:41 - I had to be ready.
06:41 - She was just--
06:42 - Where are you flying in from?
06:43 - Atlanta.
06:44 - I love it.
06:45 All right, go back to it.
06:46 - I love it.
06:46 - Make cheese, thank you so much.
06:47 - We would never even know you were here.
06:48 - Good to see you.
06:49 - Make cheese.
06:50 - You look very handsome, make cheese.
06:52 - I'm feeling, I'm feeling well today, Jen.
06:54 - You really are.
06:55 - I'm trying to lean it down on the holiday season.
06:56 - Yeah, I can see that.
06:57 - The water bell is a really important--
06:59 - That guy, oh my gosh.
07:01 You were talking about traditions.
07:02 You plan on Thanksgiving and Christmas, I'm sorry.
07:04 Make cheese.
07:05 - That's okay.
07:06 - I love him.
07:07 - Getting the Christmas tree, decorating all
07:09 the typical things, it's just, it takes on
07:11 its own little special twist when it's with your own family.
07:14 - Yes it does.
07:14 My final question for you both,
07:16 and I'll tell you McG's answer before you guys answer.
07:19 So obviously this is about switching, right?
07:21 So I asked him, I was like, so if you could switch
07:23 with like, I don't know, any celebrity in the world,
07:25 who would it be?
07:26 I asked all your castmates this, and I'll reveal it.
07:28 I'll say after I ask you guys this question.
07:30 So if you could switch places for one day
07:33 with one celebrity, who would it be?
07:36 Emma, I see you over there blinking hard.
07:38 - Oh God.
07:40 (sighs)
07:42 (groans)
07:44 - Emma!
07:47 - I'd probably switch with maybe Yuzuru Hanyu.
07:49 He's a really good figure skater.
07:51 - Okay, I love him.
07:52 - And an Olympic medalist.
07:54 - That'd be amazing.
07:55 I would swap with Sutton Foster, Kelly O'Hara
08:00 so that I could just sing like them, Broadway stars.
08:03 - Good choice.
08:05 - Yeah.
08:05 - Okay.
08:06 Oh my gosh, I got three words for you.
08:08 You rejected Ariana?
08:10 (laughs)
08:12 The entire movie was full of chaos, fun,
08:14 so many great moments.
08:16 I have to start with you first, Ed,
08:17 because I love it when, you know,
08:19 you guys like reference 13 going on 30 and, you know,
08:21 17 again.
08:23 Is it fun to get back into a movie like this
08:25 and really play your younger, younger self?
08:28 - Yeah, absolutely.
08:29 I think that the body swap premise is so timeless,
08:35 and we've seen so many body swap movies over the years
08:39 because it explores these really potent themes
08:42 of trying to understand each other better
08:45 and connecting to the people that we love
08:47 and really trying to hear each other.
08:50 And this particular body swap movie
08:53 has the added bonus of just being the insane,
08:57 totally fresh premise I've never seen before
09:00 where the entire family switches.
09:02 - I had to follow.
09:03 I was like, okay, okay, okay.
09:04 So he's, she's, I thought she's okay.
09:05 - It's a lot of math.
09:06 You gotta do a lot of math in this movie.
09:08 - And speaking of math, Brady, chemistry.
09:09 So when it came to getting that chemistry with the cast,
09:12 how did you connect with Dad and Mom and your sister?
09:16 - Yeah, I mean, I think a lot of it was just
09:19 when we arrived on the day, like immediately,
09:22 we kind of all clicked already.
09:25 And I mean, that definitely showed on camera.
09:28 And I think just spending time with Ed
09:31 and being able to pick up his mannerisms
09:34 and just certain things like that.
09:36 I mean, it was, it was a lot of fun
09:37 and it definitely, definitely helped with our performance
09:40 and playing Ed's character, so.
09:42 - There was so much, like I said in the beginning,
09:45 I was like, okay, so how am I gonna feel
09:47 about this holiday movie?
09:48 Kind of this family switch.
09:49 Oh my gosh.
09:51 It was the first scene for me when I,
09:53 first and foremost, y'all doing that,
09:55 that Jingle Bell Rock dance.
09:57 - Oh yeah.
09:58 - And the costume, and then all of a sudden
10:00 the dog like pees on the ground
10:01 and your hand goes on a puddle.
10:03 - I just wanna ask you, like your favorite scene,
10:05 your favorite part about filming something
10:07 so fun and vivacious.
10:09 - I, I loved that scene.
10:11 It's embarrassing how hard I had to work
10:15 on that choreography.
10:16 - Tell me.
10:17 - So Jen is a trained ballet, like amazing dancer.
10:22 I am not at all.
10:26 And so we started working on that dance routine,
10:29 which is like, what, 30 seconds long, 40 seconds long.
10:32 - It's quick.
10:33 - Like, when learning it, it's long.
10:36 - But for me, it's long.
10:38 So, so we, we started, I was pulling Jen aside
10:41 like for days ahead of time, like,
10:43 can we just run it again?
10:44 Can we run it again?
10:45 And the choreography is like, okay, you're doing fine.
10:49 How about we just keep going?
10:50 Let's just drill.
10:51 And I barely got it right, like maybe two takes.
10:55 - Really?
10:56 - Which is, we were able to like put it together.
10:58 But man, I really struggled with that choreography.
11:01 But then again, I got to wear a candy cane.
11:03 So it kind of doesn't matter.
11:05 - It was very cute.
11:06 And I think that that was a great way
11:08 to introduce the viewers to how fun the parents were.
11:11 But then when I saw the kids, I'm like,
11:13 God, Lee, Brady, how long did it take you to,
11:16 I mean, I know you're an actor, but the big words,
11:20 not to insult or anything,
11:21 but that's a difficult thing to do.
11:22 Like you're coming up with and being very mature.
11:25 And was that difficult to tap into at all?
11:27 Like, like becoming one with that character,
11:29 with your character?
11:30 - I think so on the Wyatt, on the Wyatt perspective.
11:34 I mean, personally, I feel like I don't relate
11:37 really towards like Wyatt, kind of that like shy,
11:41 like I feel like I'm more of an outgoing person.
11:43 So I kind of relate a little more to Bill.
11:44 So I think it was harder for me to pull from Wyatt
11:49 than it was towards Bill.
11:51 Yeah.
11:52 - I want to ask you all about family switching.
11:54 So if you could switch with your parents
11:56 or if you have siblings,
11:57 which one would you switch with and why?
12:01 Like absolutely none of them.
12:05 - No, probably my twin brother.
12:07 I have an identical twin brother.
12:09 So I mean, he like, he's kind of like,
12:11 we look the exact same,
12:12 but just to be able to switch minds with him
12:14 and just kind of see what he sees.
12:15 And like, I feel like that'd be-
12:17 - I feel like that's cheating.
12:18 - Yeah, that's cheating.
12:19 It would kind of be the same.
12:20 - Right?
12:20 You look in the same body, but like different minds.
12:23 - Yeah, that's why I choose it though.
12:25 It'd be easy.
12:25 Like, you know, yeah.
12:27 - Okay, same question, but with a celebrity,
12:29 if you had to choose or if you could choose
12:32 to switch places with a celebrity,
12:34 who would it be for one day?
12:35 - Um, man, probably the Rock, right?
12:39 Like, I don't think I'm ever going to be that big
12:41 or that like muscular, you know,
12:43 just like walk around in a day and that like,
12:45 that character build, that'd be pretty sick.
12:48 - I feel like I gotta ask you the same question.
12:51 - I mean, Taylor Swift.
12:53 - No.
12:54 - Just to be able to like step out on stage
12:56 to like a huge stadium full of psyched fans.
13:01 - Like the most devoted fans.
13:03 - Out of all the celebrities, Taylor Swift.
13:05 But I know why, but you know, okay, so you know I'm E,
13:07 so you know the first thing I think, right?
13:09 I'm like, oh, you want to kiss Travis Kelce.
13:11 That's what this is all about.
13:12 - Maybe I should have picked Travis Kelce in that version.
13:16 - Oh, you want to be Taylor, huh?
13:17 - Yeah, no, I'm just thinking about the rock and roll
13:21 fantasy, like, and she's just such an awesome,
13:24 badass musician.
13:26 Like, yeah, that just seems like a dream.
13:28 - Yeah.
13:29 - And I know you're pretty private about your daughter,
13:30 but if you had to choose between getting $1 million
13:32 or trading places with her for one day,
13:35 which one would you choose?
13:37 - Oh, trading places with, I don't know.
13:42 - $1 million.
13:43 - $1 million.
13:43 - $1 million.
13:44 - I'm pretty sure I'd take the $1 million, right?
13:46 Just because like, who needs a body?
13:48 - Who needs that stress, you know,
13:49 and you have $1 million, so I'd rather avoid it.
13:52 - Hard decision.
13:53 - One of my final questions for you.
13:54 This movie gets us all in the holiday mood because,
13:56 so I live alone, so I, this sounds like so pathetic
13:59 and sad, but I don't even have a Christmas tree up,
14:01 so the other day my parents, they sent me like a foot tall
14:03 Christmas tree to get me in the mood
14:05 and the whole holiday thing.
14:06 So seeing the movie really got me like, oh, okay,
14:08 holiday traditions, family, food.
14:11 I gotta know from both of you,
14:13 your favorite holiday traditions for Thanksgiving
14:15 and Christmas, go.
14:18 - All right, Thanksgiving favorite tradition is
14:21 stuffing my face with stuffing.
14:24 It's the most delicious thing.
14:26 And I will eat way too much of it.
14:29 And that is just the best.
14:31 And then Christmas, I love singing Christmas carols.
14:35 - Like for real, like going door to door?
14:36 - Sometimes, yeah, like we'll do that.
14:39 - What's this, 1982?
14:41 - It's like 1935, like literally,
14:44 like sometimes even holding candles, like singing.
14:47 I love it.
14:48 I just, yeah.
14:50 - Okay, what's your favorite carol?
14:51 - Silent Night.
14:54 It just melts my heart every time.
14:57 - Okay, I gotta ask you.
14:58 (laughing)
14:59 - I got real, I got real for a second.
15:01 - Yeah.
15:02 - For me, I think my Thanksgiving traditions,
15:05 I love stuffing too.
15:06 And I also love cranberry sauce and mac and cheese.
15:09 So like all that, like on one plate.
15:11 - On one fork.
15:12 - And turkey and stuffing and it's,
15:15 Thanksgiving's like probably my second favorite holiday,
15:17 like next to Christmas.
15:20 And then Christmas, I just like spending time with my family
15:23 and opening up gifts and just sharing those nice moments
15:27 with the people that mean most to me.
15:29 - Thank you guys so much.
15:30 And I bet none of you are cooking at all.
15:32 Y'all just eating the mac and cheese and the cranberry.
15:34 I bet.
15:35 Thank you guys so much.
15:36 And congratulations on Family Switch.
15:37 We really enjoyed it.
15:38 - Thank you. - Thank you so much.
15:39 (upbeat music)
15:42 you
