00:50 Thank you so much. This is Kijani Ridge School.
00:53 My name is Sarah Mwaneki.
00:56 We are so excited today being a very important day in our nation today
01:00 where we were all expecting and looking forward to the release of the 2023 KCP examination.
01:06 At Kijani Ridge we are celebrating, you can see right behind me,
01:09 celebrating excellent performance being among the top schools in this country.
01:14 So thank you so much. I wish all the candidates victory and success as we all continue celebrating.
01:19 If I look at this year's performance compared with last year,
01:23 there's a slight drop, yes, in the whole country,
01:26 but we are all very happy because we have produced excellent results.
01:30 My name is Nicole Yama. I feel so happy right now.
01:35 My teachers, my parents played a really big role in helping me to prepare myself for this exam.
01:42 I'm happy that they did for everything that they did, not missing lessons,
01:47 going an extra mile to make sure that we get everything.
01:51 I'm really happy. I'm grateful for that.
01:54 During the last exam, everyone was just like, you have to get it right.
01:58 So personally for me, I used to study a lot,
02:01 read my teachers, my best friends, plus my books.
02:05 And like, yeah, I was just revising by myself.
02:08 Anything wrong, ask my teachers. Yeah, that's how I prepared myself for this exam.
02:13 At CBC, but then I'm sure like I've seen what they do in CBC
02:17 and I like how it focuses on their talents.
02:20 It's not like in 844, mostly, we're usually about books and stuff like that.
02:25 But then in CBC, they focus on their talents.
02:27 I'm Maina, by the grace of God, I'm the head teacher in this school,
02:31 the Marion Farmhouse School.
02:33 And our school motto is inspired by God for excellence.
02:36 So this afternoon, we are so excited that our boys and girls did very, very well.
02:40 A great improvement from the Minsko that we got last year.
02:43 And with me today, I have our top student, Regina Lynn Ngendo,
02:48 who managed to score a 411 and we give all the glory.
02:55 Our learners managed to hit their goals.
02:57 And for that reason, we are grateful this afternoon.
02:59 I am from Marion Farmhouse School.
03:01 First and foremost, I'm thankful to God for giving me these 411 marks
03:06 that I worked for so hard.
03:08 Without Him, I wouldn't be here.
03:10 I'm thankful for my friends, my parents, my family,
03:13 and also my mom and dad who did everything they could in their power to help me.
03:18 They paid my school fees.
03:20 They encouraged me, reassured me, and they were always there for me.
03:24 Thank you, my parents, my family, my friends, Mr. Amisi, Mrs. Maina,
03:29 Chabet and other teachers.
03:31 Thank you for everything that you have done, every small thing that you have done.
03:35 And all I can say right now is thank you and God bless you.
03:41 The most difficult subject for me was social studies and CRE.
03:45 And the easiest for me was mathematics.
03:48 But anyway, I still passed.
03:50 Waking up every day at 5 a.m. and sleeping at 9 p.m. was not easy.
03:54 But I persevered and encouraged myself that hard work will pay.
03:58 And truly, Kenya High School, and I would like to be a Sergeant when I grow up.
04:02 My name is Washington Abok, the headteacher of the Valley Junior Academy.
04:05 We thank God for this glorious moment.
04:07 The students have performed extremely well.
04:10 This being our last KCP, we came out and we gave it a big bang.
04:14 And we thank the students. They've worked hard.
04:16 They've given everything into it.
04:18 And we believe the performance that we've received is excellent.
04:21 And we thank God for everything.
04:23 Now, we had a candidate of 40 pupils.
04:25 And out of the 40 pupils, we got a mean score of 371, sorry,
04:30 with our top student scoring 415.
04:33 And we think they did very well, across the board.
04:36 Truly, it's an honor. It was a great experience, the exam itself.
04:41 At first, when I did mathematics, I saw that the paper was easy.
04:46 But our teachers taught us well not to be overconfident.
04:50 So we had to struggle with the rest of the papers.
04:53 Although some were hard, but there's nothing we could do.
04:57 That was the exam. We had to do it.
04:59 And when the results came, I was tense and I was nervous.
05:03 But once they came out, I realized there's nothing you can do.
05:09 There's nothing you can do to change what has already happened.
05:12 So I learned to accept the results and I'm happy with it.
05:16 I prefer academics because that's where I'm used to.
05:19 And this school teaches well.
05:23 So both talent and academics are well cared for.
05:27 I would like to take a course in medicine.
