00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today, we're putting on our Deerstalker hat as we investigate mysteries
00:05 that fans haven't been able to solve yet.
00:12 The Monolith, Fez.
00:14 We're starting off the list with a mystery that has technically been solved, but no one's
00:18 quite sure how they did it.
00:21 Starting a new playthrough in New Game+ unlocks First Person View, which allows players to
00:26 find new puzzles otherwise hidden, but it also unlocked the Monolith.
00:31 The eerie black box offers no clues how to unlock its secrets, or even any hint as to
00:37 its purpose.
00:39 With no guidance, players eventually brute force their way inside using a myriad of button
00:44 combinations, but no one has figured out how the game actually wants them to solve it.
00:49 And with Phil Fish leaving the world of game development behind entirely, this might be
00:54 one mystery that can never be solved.
00:57 2113, Trial's Evolution.
01:06 Sometimes the solution to a mystery in a video game isn't even in the game itself.
01:12 After discovering a series of letters and numbers scattered throughout the game's many
01:15 tracks, players eventually deciphered these clues, which led to even more in-game clues,
01:21 such as a song that led to a website that led to real-life coordinates around the world.
01:26 The Trial's community came together, and at each of the coordinates was a chest with a
01:30 key and a card indicating that in 100 years, one of these keys would unlock a box buried
01:36 underneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
01:39 Besides being one of the most elaborate mysteries buried inside an otherwise normal racing and
01:44 challenge-based game, it's unlikely that anyone will even be alive or remember the mystery
01:49 exists in 100 years, let alone the payoff for such a quest being worth the effort put
01:55 into it.
02:03 The Milo Show, Tinykin.
02:15 Even the cutest games have hidden, creepy elements that can make players rethink their
02:19 entire experience.
02:22 Tinykin's cutesy aesthetic and Pikmin-style gameplay is immensely endearing, and players
02:27 can discover all manner of hidden secrets and interactive areas off the beaten path.
02:32 However, it's in the game's final level where things take a turn.
02:36 If players make their way inside through the bottom of the arcade and knock down the playing
02:40 card on the wall, they can find a holographic schematic of the house, as well as hieroglyphics
02:46 alongside pictures of the game's hero, Milo.
02:49 Dotted around the projection of the house are tiny dots, and if the player travels to
02:54 these locations, they'll find hidden eyeballs watching Milo's every move.
02:59 The purpose of these monitors has yet to be explained, but it does create a more foreboding
03:03 atmosphere than the game would have you initially believe.
03:16 The Super Secret Easter Egg, Amplitude.
03:20 One of the few mysteries on our list so secret, players didn't even know it existed.
03:25 After a player managed to platinum the game, the official Twitter for the game asked if
03:29 the player had found the Super Secret Easter Egg, to which they replied they hadn't.
03:34 Players began scouring the game, but with no success.
03:38 The developer has offered words of encouragement to players that they were "on the right track,"
03:43 but no other clues as to the secret location or even what it could be.
03:48 To date, no one has discovered what the Easter Egg is or even how to find it, and with the
03:54 developers offering no help whatsoever, it looks like this might be one beat players
03:58 won't be able to follow.
04:00 The Secret of Monkey Island, Return to Monkey Island.
04:11 Another mystery that technically has an answer, but one that was just so insulting, fans refused
04:17 to believe the mystery has truly been solved.
04:20 For over 30 years, players have been guiding Guybrush Threepwood in his quest to become
04:25 a pirate and stay one step ahead of the ghost pirate LeChuck, and over the course of six
04:30 games, the series has refused to answer what exactly the Secret of Monkey Island truly
04:36 is.
04:37 With the most recent release of Return to Monkey Island, fans anxiously awaited the
04:41 grand reveal, only to finally open the chest and receive a shirt that states "I found the
04:47 Secret of Monkey Island, and all I got was this stupid t-shirt."
04:51 Needless to say, fans were understandably upset, which has led to wild fan theories,
04:57 and unless Ron Gilbert says otherwise, fans will continue the hunt for the true Secret
05:02 of Monkey Island.
05:11 Mount Chiliad, Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar are well known for their Easter Eggs and hidden
05:17 content within their games for players to uncover, but with the riddle of Mount Chiliad
05:22 in Grand Theft Auto V, they might have finally created a mystery too complicated for players
05:27 to solve.
05:28 At the top of the titular Mount Chiliad is a mural with various characters and symbols
05:33 that has left players even going so far as to datamine the game.
05:38 Fans have debated about what the mural could mean or even possibly unlock in the game,
05:43 with so many wild theories that the Mount Chiliad mystery even has its own substantial
05:47 subreddit with fans posting their theories and explanations, but still with no solution.
05:54 It's entirely possible the mural was at one point tied to content that was cut from the
05:58 game, leaving no real answer at all, but that hasn't stopped fans from searching for over
06:03 a decade.
06:05 The printer code inside.
06:12 Playdead's 2016 game Inside was already full of unanswered questions about its world and
06:17 what the game's ending truly meant, but there was one mystery that many players might not
06:23 have even realized existed.
06:25 Towards the end of the game, players find themselves inside an office space and in the
06:29 background is a printer, churning out endless pages of paper.
06:33 If the player waits by the printer for a few seconds, large symbols begin filling each
06:38 page one after another.
06:41 Dedicated fans have managed to decipher these symbols which are different for each release
06:45 of the game, and each string of code leads to another deeper mystery of bitmaps, braille,
06:51 audio codes, and even a real-world printout from Playdead's website.
06:55 It's currently unknown if all the clues point to some undiscovered secret within Inside
07:00 or Playdead's next project, but so far, there's still no concrete solutions to this elaborate
07:07 ARG.
07:14 The Back Rooms - Trapang 2
07:22 Trapang 2 is an ultra-violent first-person shooter that instantly became a hit with fans
07:27 of the genre, but hidden within the game might be not only one of the best easter eggs in
07:32 recent years, but possibly a mystery far deeper than players initially believed.
07:37 Players have discovered various ways to achieve this so-called "glitch" that seems to transport
07:42 them into the wildly popular internet sensation, the Back Rooms.
07:47 While at first this seems like a cool nod to the series, players who have no-clipped
07:51 their way out of the Back Rooms found that the seemingly random event is shockingly huge
07:56 and meticulously detailed, with numerous hidden secrets that remind players more of the Fear
08:01 series from the 2010s.
08:04 What exactly the purpose of this area is remains unknown, as is the reason it seems to go on
08:10 forever.
08:11 Seems like an awful lot of work for just an easter egg.
08:20 The Destroyed Bastion Switches - The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
08:27 The Witcher 3 is already a massive game, filled to the brim with secrets to uncover and mysteries
08:33 for players to track down.
08:35 However, along with the next-gen update, came a new conundrum players have yet to solve.
08:41 In the Destroyed Bastion, players can find switches in three towers and will unleash
08:46 an earth elemental for Geralt to kill, which upon death opens a portal that drops Geralt
08:51 at the bottom of the Bastion.
08:53 At the bottom of the tower is a room full of seemingly immortal specters, and by activating
08:58 crystals on nearby pillars, a portal will open that spits Geralt back outside.
09:03 A lot of work clearly went into this puzzle, but no one has figured out its solution or
09:08 the connection to a symbol players have found within the room that bears a striking resemblance
09:13 to another mystery in CD Projekt Red's other series.
09:20 The Magenta Mystery - Cyberpunk 2077
09:24 Hardcore fans of certain video game franchises have a habit of creating mysteries that might
09:28 never have been intended by the developers, but a seemingly random string of letters and
09:33 numbers on a statue outside the Corpo Plaza has driven the community crazy with what they
09:38 could potentially mean.
09:40 Dubbed the Magenta Mystery due to the code translating to the HTML hex code color for
09:44 magenta, players soon found the code on similar smaller statues within Night City.
09:49 And even more bizarrely, a group of monks who appear to worship the statues.
09:54 Despite rearranging every combination of the symbols as well as attempting to decipher
09:58 the monks' repeated lines of dialogue, and now with the connection to the destroyed Bastion
10:03 and The Witcher 3, players have been told by the developer that they're on the right
10:07 track, but to date, still no solution has been found.
10:11 Do you think you'll be able to solve any of these mysteries?
10:14 Which ones have kept you up at night?
10:16 Let us know down in the comments.
