00:00 I'd love to know what you guys thought of what Brock pretty did last night. His numbers weren't great. They put up 31 points
00:06 I don't know if his numbers matter. He kind of had a little lull in the second half
00:10 He let the Seahawks back in the game. He put him away with a great throw to Brandon. I you that you would call
00:16 clutch
00:18 It was in the fourth quarter
00:20 What do you guys think give me an honest assessment of what Brock pretty did last night?
00:25 I think he played a solid game
00:29 He kept us in front of the sticks at times now
00:33 Yeah, there was a lull in production, but I feel like that was the defense
00:37 I mean, I feel like that was the offense as a whole not just Brock
00:41 He was starting to push. One of the things that I've noticed about Brock with his picks are a lot of times Brock
00:49 he gets in trouble with turning the ball over when he's almost trying to
00:54 Kind of push the defense or I mean trying to push the offense beyond what the play that's called like trying to
01:00 Almost
01:03 Do a little bit of improv pushing more
01:05 If you think about it the first if you look at it the first the pick that he threw
01:10 He threw a similar throw right before that the very first the play right before he threw the pick
01:16 So I saw it coming. He was high. Yes. Hi. Yeah
01:21 Yes, you can see that he was pushing. Um now notwithstanding
01:25 The same way we talk about these guys
01:29 Not playing a full game
01:32 And then letting off the gas we gotta give him praise when they had start off good
01:37 They have a dip in production in the middle and they end off
01:40 Um, you know, I look at this is like a boxing match like yeah
01:44 But Brock may have been getting beat up and maybe getting out box
01:48 But at the end of the day if you get the round 12 and you clip his ass and he's down fights over
01:53 Nobody goes back and looks at those other rounds right and that was a knockout load or are you for sure?
01:58 Yeah, that is a great throw
02:00 That's a ballsy throw right and for you to still have the confidence to layer that ball in there after
02:05 The type of throw that you made before where you can kind of go into a shell making a blunt making a pick
02:11 Make it a pick like that it but he did I mean he was the first good throw
02:15 He made in the second half man, and it seemed like Kyle kind of went in the shell after his interception
02:19 He called nothing but runs for a while. So yeah, he did he did so for me
02:23 I I feel like that was not only a referendum on
02:26 Brock's play but also a referendum on Kyle where if you if you know
02:33 Brock wasn't even supposed to make that throw
02:36 He pushed that throw to Brandon
02:38 I you the throw was actually designed for Brock to have his primary routes in the flats
02:43 And he saw something and pushed the ball down the field. So for me
02:47 I'd say I'd give him a B - nothing to write home about nothing crazy, but he did what quarterbacks do he?
02:55 ended he ended the game and
02:57 Made the best the biggest throw was his best throw
03:01 It's hard to get more than a B - when you throw a pick six and you have one touchdown pass
03:06 But what do you think Larry? What did you?
03:08 I mean, I
03:10 Personally, I thought he played really well. I mean to me this game was
03:13 mostly over at the half at halftime, I mean it was 24 3 at half and
03:19 He had completed 75% of his passes he had hit seven different receivers
03:26 And he hadn't turned the ball over and he didn't get awesome protection. I'll tell you what I love
03:33 I love the roll right throw back to me when he rolls right and throws back
03:37 It's like that things open all the time. And so I love that play. I thought he moved
03:41 I liked his explosive movement and I think you know within the pocket and I like the fact that this guy looks like
03:49 Since the bye week he's added some juice to the arm now the third quarter
03:54 He had back-to-back nightmarish throws the second one tipped obviously went right the defender pick six
04:00 So that's obviously a hugely negative play
04:03 but a lot of the people who say that the guy can't get it done in the fourth almost make it seem like he doesn't
04:08 Have the nerve to get it done in the fourth and the fact of the matter is I don't think that's the case
04:13 And and the way the the dot that he put on Iuke in a crowd in a zone against four defenders
04:20 Was just so perfectly placed that that's a great. That was a great finishing act. So I don't know grade-wise
04:28 I'd probably give him, you know, we've seen him complete 95% of his passes in some games
04:32 We've seen him be really good. I would say this tomorrow
04:35 I would say the games this game was just a solid B
04:38 But when you factor in on the road in Seattle and Seattle
04:43 I thought brought some tremendous momentum in that third quarter. I'll say this
04:47 I was listening a little bit to the radio broadcast of it
04:50 The announcers Greg Papa and Tim Ryan were like these guys were shook
04:54 I mean these guys are like this game is flipped and when the Ohio State rookie made the one-handed catch
04:59 He's like, you know Seattle's right back in this game and they were still down 14 points at the time
05:05 So there was a feeling in that third quarter like the momentum shifted and Purdy's played
05:10 Iuke was huge in the fourth. Well, it shifted because he threw a pick six when they were up 21. Yeah back
05:16 The game wasn't really ever in doubt. If you heard the announcers on the radio side, they made it
05:23 Place for the Seahawks, you know made you know, Smith's made the game not in doubt
05:28 Yeah, like he's part to make it interesting
05:32 Just turtled up and took a bunch of sacks. Like I don't know. I was a little concerned about what Brock Purdy did
05:38 he's still really good, but I
05:40 Don't know. It seems to me first of all
05:43 When he's backed up and he's stuck in the pocket
05:46 The reason the ball comes out a little high as he's a little short
05:48 It's hard for him to get the ball up and over unless he can move around and negotiate and navigate get outside the pocket
05:54 That's one and then to the throw to IU. Yeah, it's clutch. He was up 11 in the fourth quarter
05:59 It almost feels like when you give a kid a basketball and then you lift him up and then he dunks and then everyone claps
06:05 I'm sorry
06:07 He's up 11 in the fourth quarter like a dope do this nice throw
06:11 His clutch you put him away, I don't know I'll be BB - I think it's fair good game
06:20 But uh, I don't know the third court look
06:22 I want to say come back to something that coach said at the beginning and then we'll move on
06:25 It felt like it was the whole offense not just Brock
06:28 It felt like to Larry's point. They went into halftime and were like, well, we got it games over
06:33 This really isn't in doubt like well
06:35 The defense didn't come out with that attitude in the second half
06:37 But the offense did and not just brought everyone on the offense including Kyle Shanahan
06:42 Like they just put the offense in the garage. It was done. No
06:45 No
06:47 Even though you know Smith can meet a couple drives. We're led by this defense though, man
06:51 Like when we were losing games, we were trying out the DC to have to you know to stay
06:58 Yeah, like we were struggling when we were struggling. Nobody was like I wonder what Spencer Burford has to say
07:05 Bring Juwan Jennings into the mic like nobody know let's hear what Ray Ray McLeod thinks about this dip in performance
07:12 Well, we were losing everybody was like talk what the Steve Wilkes have to say what this Fred Warner has to say
07:18 What does Nick Bosa have to say like it's true. We are led by this defense
07:23 Everybody knows it even so much. So as the head coach, he doesn't even own it. He's like
07:28 Steve knows he messed up on that. He'll talk
07:31 like like
07:33 Like like everybody's talking about changing up coaches Steve's down from the booth get on the sidelines
07:41 He wants to turn into like coach Carter out of out of nowhere
07:44 All of a sudden all of a sudden it's we and then when we win, what do we do?
07:52 We hate the offense. We
07:54 Wilkins in weeks
08:01 Nobody like we give the offense all of these short fields. They really dally around with leads
08:08 They barely it's like the office had a different production, but not the difference if the business goes from one one one one one
08:16 To two then we have a huge problem
08:19 All right, all right
08:23 Our office our defense is playing at an elite level and they're still not as good as they were last year
08:32 23 points last year games 20. That's why we're winning because our defense is handing the ball back to our office and office is faking like
08:39 They're getting a on a group project. That's what's happening
08:42 You
