00:00 A man was arrested in Quezon City after a badminton racket hit his stepson.

00:05 Here is the story of James Agustin.

00:08 He was hit in the head and back by a young man after his stepfather hit him in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City last night.

00:21 The hit was used on two badminton rackets.

00:25 According to the police, the child was in a computer shop when his stepfather arrived drunk.

00:30 When he arrived, he asked the child's player to call his children.

00:37 Then he saw a badminton racket.

00:40 And because he was drunk, for some unknown reason, he hit the child to make him go home.

00:48 The residents called the stepfather.

00:51 They also rushed the child to the hospital.

00:54 That's when the mother found his son.

00:57 The police arrested the 28-year-old stepfather.

01:01 According to the investigation, this was not the first time he hit the child.

01:06 Whenever his stepfather gets drunk, he always hurts the child.

01:10 That's why we are studying what other complaints we can file against the suspect.

01:16 The suspect has been with the child's mother for seven years.

01:20 The suspect admitted that he hurt the child, which he said is something he is blaming.

01:25 It's true sir. I hit him just now.

01:30 Why did you do that?

01:31 Because he was drunk. I admit that I did something wrong.

01:38 I asked for forgiveness from the child and my wife.

01:43 The suspect faces a complaint under Republic Act 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
