Newcastle headlines 28th Nov: Man left with serious head injuries after city centre punch attack

A man has suffered a serious head injury after being punched in Newcastle City Centre. The victim was approached from behind and verbally abused before being attacked on Grainger Street at around 1am on 25th October. Northumbria Police have released this image of a man they'd like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Next - Hundreds of new employment opportunities are to be created in the North East by supermarket giant Aldi. The German grocery chain is preparing to open a number of new outlets in the region. The new stores come as part of a £1.4bn nationwide expansion plan.

And finally - multiple yellow weather warnings for snow and ice are in effect across our part of the world. Starting on Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning, and then again from Wednesday evening until Thursday morning, the Met Office says to expect highs of 4 degrees and lows of -1.
