00:00 The starting gun is up.

00:02 Oars to front stops.

00:03 Ready?

00:04 Row!

00:06 It was really important for us to get rowing right.

00:09 Just drop the blade in, Thomas.

00:11 Okay, well done, lads.

00:12 Rowing is the ultimate team sport.

00:14 Everybody has to do exactly the same thing

00:16 at exactly the same time.

00:18 Row! Row!

00:19 For the first six weeks, we were training.

00:22 Training started in a controlled environment,

00:25 in this tank where everybody just figured out the rhythm,

00:27 and then that transitioned on to the river.

00:30 We get picked up at 6.30.

00:31 It was wake up, row, eat, sleep, repeat.

00:34 Wet and cold. Best part of the day, right here.

00:37 A massive amount of rowing on the River Thames.

00:39 And one!

00:41 It's also a lot of conditioning work in the gym.

00:43 One more!

00:44 It's like having eight people try to learn how to drive

00:47 at 100 miles an hour, sharing one steering wheel.

00:50 So when George and I went to go skiing the first time,

00:52 and they're rowing, I mean, they were horrible.

00:54 It was just like paddles going everywhere.

00:56 Relax those shoulders.

00:57 About four weeks later, they were rowing as a team.

01:00 Looking good, lads.

01:02 We would train whenever we had days off throughout filming.

01:04 We'd push ourselves and push each other

01:06 to go as fast as we can.

01:08 We shot an order.

01:09 So by the time we got to the race in Germany...

01:11 Passe!

01:12 Row!

01:13 Our kids could stay in the game.

01:15 Give me 46!

01:16 Yesterday, we got to 46,

01:18 which is the amount of strokes per minute you have in the boat,

01:21 which is what the boys did in the Olympics to win the race.

01:23 I couldn't be prouder of all of us.

01:25 For all the people who didn't believe in you,

01:28 as one!

01:30 As one!
