Analyzing the advantages the San Francisco 49ers have over the Philadelphia Eagles.

00:00 Give me the Eagles weaknesses.
00:01 What are you seeing?
00:01 Eagles weaknesses.
00:02 I mean, it's obvious you look at the numbers and you look at what Josh Allen
00:06 was able to do.
00:07 You look at all what all these quarterbacks are able to do this and
00:09 how somehow I mean in somehow to his credit.
00:13 I think he leaves the NFL and passion yard.
00:14 So he's been he's been cooking lightweight.
00:16 Dad, the Eagles Dak the Eagles weaknesses the Pat against the pass.
00:21 They are 31st in passing touchdowns allowed.
00:25 They are the second worst team in the NFL in passing touchdowns allowed
00:29 49ers have to capitalize on that property has to come out throwing a
00:32 kettle and I think that was the two key.
00:35 Somebody mentioned that earlier and that was my mentality coming into the
00:38 show what I wanted to talk about because that is the key if the 49ers
00:41 can get aggressive in the passing game attacking with kettle and I you
00:45 they're going to have a lot of success, but Rock pretty can't turn the
00:48 ball over as long as Brock pretty doesn't turn the ball over and he's
00:51 done a good job overall this year not doing that.
00:53 But if he doesn't turn the ball over he gets the ball out somewhat
00:56 quickly the offensive line holds up enough to give him time or bought
00:59 by his time with his feet and his mobility and he can find Brandon
01:03 I you can George Kittle downfield.
01:04 The 49ers could have a lot of success in the passing game.
01:07 They're 31st in passing touchdowns allowed that is not good at all.
01:13 That's the biggest glaring weakness for this Eagles team.
01:16 Yeah, I mean they don't that they don't match up with George Kittle.
01:21 They don't match up with Brandon.
01:23 I you they're a good tackling team and they don't give up a lot of yards
01:27 after the catch so they match up well with Debo, but they can't stop runs
01:32 to the offenses left.
01:33 So they don't match up really well with Christian McCaffrey.
01:36 So they can handle Debo, but since they have to think about three other
01:42 guys before Debo Debo could hurt him to that defense is shaky.
01:47 I mean, it looks like him.
01:49 Yeah, I mean that the D line is nice.
01:51 The two corners are old and they've had success but like the linebackers
01:55 and the safeties and the Niners are all about throwing between the hashes
02:00 all about throwing the 15-yard pass over the middle.
02:03 So it's like I tell you it's pretty sure have a huge game.
02:07 Yeah, it's pretty sure have a huge game.
02:10 I you Iuke is key but honestly more than I think it's Kittle and CMC in the
02:14 passing game, right?
02:16 They're going to run CFC Kyle's not going to go away from that.
02:18 They're going to run him and they might have success running to left,
02:21 but they've only given a five rushing touchdowns.
02:23 I think really where CMC is going to be most effective is in the passing game.
02:28 So I think it's really going to be George Kittle's game and CMC's game
02:31 in the passing game in the passing attack.
02:33 They got to be find a way to be aggressive and they are actually, you
02:37 know, surprisingly the Niners are fifth and explosive players over 40 plus
02:41 yards.
02:42 Now that wasn't always the case in beginning of the season.
02:45 They flipped that script.
02:46 They got to be that same team.
02:48 They got to be aggressive.
02:48 They got to get some explosive plays and I think it's going to come from
02:51 George Kittle and CMC and a few from IU.
02:54 But I like you said, I don't know if Debo is necessarily going to be at
02:58 least in the passing game.
02:59 He might have some runs some end arounds things like that, but I really
03:02 think it's Kittle and it's CMC in the passing game.
03:04 That's going to exploit this Eagles defense.
03:07 That's a mashup.
03:08 I want to bring up.
03:09 Maybe I should have talked about in the previous topic key mashup concerns,
03:13 but last week you had Siverius Ward battling DK Metcalf.
03:18 Something they talked about before the game.
03:19 He did.
03:19 He did it very well.
03:20 It's like they the team went to him.
03:22 It's like look, we're instead of playing you an off zone coverage.
03:25 We're counting on you and Siverius rose to the occasion.
03:28 He was the hero.
03:29 Now he has now there's AJ Brown.
03:31 They're similar.
03:32 They went to the same school.
03:33 Are the Niners going to ask Siverius Ward to do that again?
03:36 Can he do to AJ Brown what he did to DK Metcalf?
03:40 If I remember correctly, he did a pretty good job on AJ Brown in the
03:42 playoffs, although there were a couple penalties.
03:45 That's a key matchup because I think statistically AJ Brown is like the
03:48 best wide receiver in the league against man-to-man coverage.
03:50 If you play man, most teams don't have a corner physical enough to
03:54 match up with him.
03:55 That's what Siverius Ward is.
03:56 He was physical enough to match up with DK.
03:58 So that's a big one.
04:00 I think he's second in yards in the NFL after Tyreek Hill as well.
04:05 AJ Brown.
04:05 He's having a hell of a season.
04:07 Yes, they should have Siverius Ward matchup.
04:09 Yeah, they should but here's the thing.
04:11 It only takes one or two like even though he did great against Metcalf.
04:14 I'm not taking anything away from Ward.
04:16 There were a couple opportunities Metcalf had that would be as close
04:19 like right.
04:19 He stepped out of bounds like this much and that would have been a big
04:22 shot. The Eagles do take shots kind of like how the Seahawks tried to
04:27 do and it only takes one or two missed plays for that to be effective.
04:32 Ward had a great game, but there were a couple really close ones, right?
04:36 Like even the one where he jumped up and he it would have been a
04:39 touchdown to Metcalf and he and he knocked it away.
04:42 If that ball is six inches further downfield, that's a touchdown as
04:46 well. So, you know, if Hertz is having a good day, it might become a
04:50 problem. But the real thing for me is the 49ers pass rush against
04:55 Seattle's offensive line.
04:57 That's different than the 49ers pass rush against the Eagles offensive
05:02 line. I keep talking about that because if you give Hertz, you know,
05:07 half a second longer or a quarter of a second longer because of that
05:12 offensive line than these other teams that have been able to do against
05:15 the 49ers pass rush.
05:16 That means that our various Ward at the Alamodoro, they got to hang
05:19 with these receivers a little bit longer and that could be a difference
05:23 maker in this game.
05:24 I'm hoping it's not but that's one of the things I'm going to be
05:27 watching for and looking for, you know, that these 49ers DB's have
05:31 had a couple good games in a row, but now they're going to get their
05:34 biggest tests because they're going to have to do it longer and these
05:37 receivers are damn good, man.
05:39 Well, I think a big thing is going to come down to Lane Johnson.
05:42 Is he going to play because if he plays and you're absolutely right
05:46 and Brie Thomas, Deometer, Lenore, Traveris, where you guys getting
05:49 tested Jire Brown to like all you guys, but if Lane Johnson doesn't
05:54 play, you know, boss is going to be on that backup right tackle all
05:57 day. Yeah, that could ruin what I could totally that would change
06:01 the Eagles game plan.
06:02 They'd have to have a totally different game plan.
06:04 That's a big one.
06:06 I have no idea what's going to happen with.
06:09 Lane Johnson.
06:10 He's such an important.
06:11 I mean, how many teams have a right tackle like that?
06:13 None.
06:13 None.
06:15 Yeah, none.
06:16 I mean that that's the key if he's healthy.
06:18 I have a feeling he's going to figure out a way to get healthy and
06:20 be on that field.
06:21 But is he going to be at a hundred percent?
06:22 I don't know this 49ers pass rush is so good though, even against
06:26 an elite offensive line like the Eagles have I think they they're
06:29 still going to be effective.
06:30 It's just to what degree can they not give up, you know, it's only
06:33 going to take a couple good plays or a turnover to to make the
06:37 difference in this game or a special teams play or two.
06:40 That's how I see it playing out.
06:42 So the 49ers defense pass rush has to be on their a-game.
06:45 Honestly, this whole game traveling to Philadelphia in the weather
06:49 the 49ers have to play their best football in order to win this
06:52 game.
06:52 Whereas I think Eagles can maybe make a mistake or two and not
06:56 be on point and still pull this off and not that I think the
07:01 Eagles are better necessary.
07:02 I just think this situation kind of favors them a little bit
07:05 another huge thing to that.
07:07 I don't think it's been talked a lot about is the 49ers against
07:11 the Seahawks.
07:11 They only had three penalties.
07:13 They're leading the NFL and penalties the 49ers but against
07:17 the Seahawks.
07:17 I think they only had three.
07:18 They got to be on point with that as well this week.
07:22 That's going to be humongous for the 49ers.
07:24 They're going to have to be on their a-game.
07:25 They're going to be disciplined.
07:26 They have to watch their penalties.
07:27 All of that is going to come into play and then turnovers as
07:31 always in NFL games is going to be humongous penalties are crazy
07:34 too because I feel they're so subjective and I think a lot of
07:36 times the team that's better or less looked at as being more
07:40 of an asset to the league or more of a threat to go deep sort
07:44 of gets the benefit of the doubt like last night.
07:46 The Eagles got the benefit of the doubt on most of those calls.
07:49 Yeah, it's a big deal and it almost felt like the league was
07:52 like, all right.
07:52 Well, Billy's like our they just be Kansas City.
07:56 I don't know what it was but they got the benefit of the doubt
08:00 of the with the whistle.
08:01 I think the Niners do a lot of the times to you can't touch
08:03 Brock purty.
08:04 You can't touch Christian McCaffrey.
08:05 But against the Eagles, I don't know.
08:08 I mean, I don't know that you might they might flag the Niners
08:12 12 times against the Eagles.
08:13 You got to be careful.
08:14 That's just legit Super Bowl contender, you know, and the
08:18 Niners can't let it come down to the referees or the whistle.
08:20 They got to rise above that regardless.
08:22 I don't know if I buy into like the refs favorite teams necessarily.
08:27 I think it happens but I don't think it's as common practice
08:30 as a lot of fans like to think I don't know.
08:33 But they let Darius Lee do whatever yesterday they did.
08:37 They did.
08:37 Yeah, but you know, the Niners got away with some against
08:39 the Seahawks to there was a couple holdings.
08:42 I think Ambry had a hold in this.
08:43 You guys came.
08:44 I think it really boils down to is yes, there are crooked
08:47 refs. I know that and but I don't know if I buy the NFL
08:51 is rigging things a certain way.
08:52 I'm not trying to say they're rigging things.
08:53 I maybe no, I'm not saying you are thinking like man.
08:55 This team is this better than this team like there.
08:58 Yeah, you know, I don't know.
09:00 I'm not saying you are but I have seen a lot of 49er fans
09:03 say that in Twitter, especially last night after watching
09:05 that game.
09:06 I just think it's a hard job being a ref.
09:08 I would never want to be a ref.
09:09 It is hard.
09:10 I've done in basketball a couple times when I need to thank
09:12 you need something to fill in.
09:13 It's thankless.
09:14 It's it's hard like we're not perfect.
09:17 We're not robots.
09:17 You're going to miss stuff, you know, so yeah, you just
09:20 got to make it as a team.
09:21 You got to make sure you're not it's not going to come
09:23 down to one call by referee.
