"Our homes are covered in mud by messy builders driving lorries 8ins away from our doors"

  • last year
Residents are being driven mad by lorries driving just 8ins away from their front doors - leaving their homes plastered in mud.

Homeowners say well-meaning builders who kick up the dirt from their trucks are also damaging their brick work by repeatedly jet-washing the street. Via SWNS.

00:00 I've lived on Stanley Street 78 years and the lorries is coming up down here because
00:19 this is a construction site up there building 180 houses.
00:23 It had all been held back because of the access to it and then all of a sudden they said this
00:30 road had been passed for access.
00:32 You can see the damage it's causing to the houses.
00:35 We can't use the land at all because as you can see you can't sit in there because the
01:03 traffic is that close.
01:05 I mean I normally go in there to listen to my music but I can't go in there because the
01:10 lorries coming up and down every 10 minutes.
01:13 Well they're coming within 8 inches of us windows so it's like a living nightmare for
01:20 us.
01:21 It's not very good at all.
01:22 I do feel sorry for our cinema.
01:23 I'm not telling you that's fine.
01:24 Well why is it still coming up?
01:25 You're not supposed to be coming down here.
