00:00 >> We were fired up, especially when he was making those runs on third down.
00:05 That was impressive, how he choked through, I think it was a linebacker or
00:09 safety, how he choked through on those third loans.
00:12 So just him doing that, it means a lot for our offense.
00:15 >> Is it a Texas thing?
00:16 >> There's a lot of tough guys in the league that make plays like that, but
00:20 it definitely helps being from Texas.
00:22 >> How do you balance just being angry about the losses, but
00:27 also staying positive because the goals are there, how does that play out?
00:31 >> I mean, it's hard, it's extremely hard losing like this with the talent that we
00:35 have, but fortunately for us, our goals are still there.
00:40 So they still can be accomplished, so that's what's kinda keeping me balanced.
00:45 >> Mike, you've always been a high touchdown guy,
00:46 you got nine already this season, you got two the other day.
00:50 Obviously your size, your ability to box guys out, and your face and
00:53 all that help you, but in the one touchdown- >> I haven't gotten many
00:56 of those, I have two goal line fades.
00:58 >> That's true, and the one the other week, you ran such a good route,
01:02 they were trying to pass it off.
01:03 Can you just talk about how you're able to recognize that and get so open?
01:07 >> I've just been playing for a long time, my skill set, my size,
01:10 it definitely helps me in the red area a lot.
01:13 I wish I would have more touchdowns in my career, but it didn't go that way.
01:16 So hopefully I can just keep getting opportunities in the red zone,
01:19 use my size and my awareness.
01:22 >> Coach Bowles has said- >> You gotta handle the pressure,
01:25 knowing that your goals are right in front of you, but the season is short.
01:28 >> No, you gotta stay working, you gotta keep working no matter what.
01:31 So that's what we're doing.
01:33 Had a good, today was more mental than physical, but we got some good work in.
01:36 We just gotta keep putting in the work if we wanna see results.
01:39 >> Coach Bowles has said, just a matter of everything coming together.
01:43 How do you guys get it all together?
01:46 >> Play better ball, it's simple as that, we gotta play better ball.
01:49 I mean, it's on us as players.
01:51 Everything, after we watch film, we always say, man, it's right there.
01:55 You just gotta go out there and take it.
01:57 You gotta go make plays that need to be made.
01:59 >> And looking at the film, you might have this master of entertainment in the league,
02:03 but maybe for some of the younger guys, how do you balance being that thing and
02:07 not overthinking it, to get to the next game?
02:12 >> How do I, how do you not overthink?
02:13 >> Yeah.
02:15 >> I mean, everybody's different.
02:16 I just gotta go play.
02:17 I mean, it's a fast game, so you don't have time to think a lot.
02:20 So you gotta just, with the preparation comes, so seize the overthinking.
02:26 >> Do you look at Carolina as a more dangerous team,
02:29 the fact that they changed their coaching staff?
02:31 I mean, a lot of times that rallies guys.
02:32 >> That does rally guys.
02:33 I mean, you see it in the college.
02:35 The NFL's different, but you've seen it a lot this year in college,
02:38 where an interim coach steps in or a new coach steps in.
02:40 It's a different type of energy.
02:42 So, and they have nothing to lose.
02:44 I mean, obviously, they're still in the race, but they have nothing to lose.
02:47 So we're gonna be ready for that.
02:48 It's gonna be a dogfight.
02:49 >> Crazy to think that they're still in the race at one time.
02:52 >> Yeah, and Bryce Young, I think he's a really talented young rookie.
02:55 I think he'll be good for a long time.
02:58 Just has to get the right situation on.
03:01 Their defense is really good.
03:02 We've watched them on film, so it's gonna be a tough one.
03:05 >> Mike, what did you see on film from their secondary advantage?
03:09 >> I mean, they've had some injuries.
03:11 Horne's been out, he's played early in the season.
03:13 He's been out a while, but their corners have stepped up.
03:16 Henderson has been playing really good this year.
03:18 So I mean, they're playing a really hard ball.
03:21 There's nobody to lead that just blows them out defensively.
03:25 >> Mike, your two games against Carolina last year were very different games.
03:28 What's the key on Sunday to making it more like your second game last year?
03:33 >> Well, the first game last year I played, I was getting everything I wanted.
03:36 I had one or two drops, but I was getting everything I wanted.
03:39 I was winning my routes, just had to make plays.
03:41 It's a different defense now, they have a different D coordinator.
03:44 So it'll be more challenging.
03:48 >> Mike, you have 90 touchdowns to lead in your career now.
03:50 I think you're one back from Devontae Adams at 91, an active receiving leaders.
03:54 Given how well you're playing this year, what do you think is the key to your
03:57 longevity and how you're able to produce year in and year out still in your career?
04:00 >> I've just been blessed.
04:02 God's blessed me tremendously with durability.
04:04 I have great people around me to help me maintain my health.
04:10 So that's been good for me, that's been going for me.
04:14 >> Thanks, Mike, appreciate it.
