00:00 "So you...so you...you've never been on the show?"
00:03 [Laughter]
00:04 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most memorable and iconic moments from the Graham Norton show.
00:11 "Ginger on that de-a-de-a."
00:13 [Laughter]
00:14 "And for the gentleman?"
00:15 Number 20, Paul Rudd's basic instinct.
00:18 "Paul Rudd, in the Ant-Man movie, you went to extraordinary lengths to amuse yourself."
00:24 Turns out there was a lot more sexual tension on the set of Ant-Man than we thought.
00:28 While promoting Captain America Civil War, Paul Rudd went into some background detail about his time during his solo flick as Marvel's tiniest hero.
00:35 Apparently during one of Michael Douglas' monologues,
00:37 Paul Rudd thought it would be a genius idea if he reenacted the famous scene from Basic Instinct by pretending to expose himself.
00:44 "I unzipped my jeans and, you know..."
00:48 "Unfurled."
00:48 "Unfurled."
00:49 [Laughter]
00:51 As it turns out, he's no Sharon Stone, and after some fumbling,
00:54 he ended up getting called out by Michael Douglas as a pervert.
00:58 Ouch.
00:59 "And in that moment, I thought, 'This didn't play out as I anticipated.'"
01:05 Number 19, Pick Up Lines.
01:07 "Before the online companies of dating and all that sort of thing, you actually had to go into an office."
01:12 This has got to be one of the best couch lineups the show's ever had.
01:16 Bryan Cranston, Eddie Redmayne, and Benedict Cumberbatch together turned out to be comedy gold,
01:21 and nowhere more so than when it was revealed that the Breaking Bad star had once worked as a director for old-school dating videos.
01:27 This of course led the three of them to try and recreate them.
01:30 "Hi. I'm Bryan. I'm 60, and if you like threesomes, just remember, I like Malcolm in the Middle."
01:40 As such, we are welcomed to the surreal yet oh-so-funny scenario of Heisenberg,
01:45 Newt Scamander, and Doctor Strange delivering some incredibly cheesy yet oddly effective pick-up lines.
01:51 Is it hot in here?
01:52 "If you're feeling a bit strange, the doctor will see you now."
01:57 Number 18, Hulk Burn.
01:59 If you thought the giant green rage monster was destructive when he went on a rampage,
02:03 just wait until you hear some of Mark Ruffalo's epic disses.
02:06 Along with two of his Avengers co-stars, they're joined on the couch by English comedian Josh Whittakam,
02:12 who at one point is asked about his greatest fear.
02:14 "I have a phobia of being chased around with poop on a stick."
02:18 Now, despite undoubtedly having to face hecklers in his life,
02:21 Josh, as well as everyone else, is totally unprepared for Mark Ruffalo's interjection,
02:26 where he insinuates that the young Brit was probably terrified of girls over 12.
02:30 "Well, I was gonna go with flying, but I think I'll go with, um..."
02:34 "Girls over 12?"
02:35 The Hulk truly is a savage. Well played.
02:41 Number 17, Greg Davis breaks Ryan Gosling.
02:44 "You were very hungover."
02:45 "Oh. Yeah."
02:47 You'd think that by having to share the spotlight with heavyweights like Jodie Foster,
02:54 Russell Crowe, and Ryan Gosling, British comedian Greg Davis would feel slightly overshadowed.
02:59 Well, not after this.
03:00 Recalling a time when he used to be a teacher,
03:03 Davis tells the story about the day he came into school hungover,
03:06 suffered a horrific bowel movement, and realized he was wearing his mother's underwear by mistake.
03:11 "Oh, God, no! Oh, I remember going, 'Oh, you loser, this is such a low point.'"
03:17 To make matters worse, while he was having this crisis,
03:20 he forgot that he was hooked up to a microphone directly linked to a student that was hard of hearing.
03:25 We're not sure what's funnier,
03:26 the story itself or Ryan Gosling's face as he fails to remain composed.
03:30 Number 16, Eyebrow Off.
03:37 "I'd like you to judge who has the best eyebrows now, as we have a little eyebrow off."
03:42 Who would have thought that the Mother of Dragons and the Enchantress would have something in common?
03:46 As it happens, both Emilia Clarke and Cara Delevingne are quite talented
03:50 when it comes to showing off their eyebrows,
03:52 which they put to the test as they proceeded to move them to music
03:56 in ways that few of us can probably pull off.
03:58 Granted, we're not sure that's going to help Khaleesi take back Westeros
04:01 or stop Suicide Squad from being a terrible film, but it's damn entertaining to watch.
04:05 Number 15, Jack Whitehall's Illiterate Toilet Incident.
04:14 Turns out British comedian Jack Whitehall and Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence
04:18 make quite the dynamic duo.
04:20 "It was probably the best moment of my life."
04:22 "It was the worst of gems."
04:24 Their story involving Harrison Ford was a gem,
04:29 but by far the funniest moment came from when Jack Whitehall
04:32 explained a rather unfortunate incident when he was in a restaurant in Spain.
04:35 Faced with a seemingly broken toilet,
04:41 he tried madly to explain to a Spanish-speaking waiter
04:44 his little dilemma regarding their faulty facilities.
04:47 As if the language barrier wasn't bad enough,
04:49 the fact that Jack had to drag the waiter to said toilet only for it to suddenly work
04:54 makes the whole tale as awkward as it is hilarious,
04:57 with Jennifer Lawrence barely keeping it together throughout.
05:00 Number 14, Chris Pratt's Perfect Essex Accent.
05:09 "Chris Pratt? This seems so unlikely that you have now learned how to do the voices from Towie."
05:15 "Yeah, sort of, yeah."
05:17 Britain is home to a whole slew of varying accents
05:20 that foreigners might find difficult to mimic.
05:22 That's what made this moment all the more outlandishly amazing
05:25 when actor Chris Pratt revealed he had mastered the dialect
05:28 associated with the county of Essex.
05:30 As it turns out, he had been exposed to the trashy show
05:33 'The Only Way Is Essex' while filming 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in the UK,
05:37 and after seeing so much of it, had actually managed to nail the accent.
05:41 "So it's like, 'hmm.' So like, honestly, like, I saw this guy."
05:44 Given everyone's reactions, the authenticity of it was mind-blowing.
05:50 "Miss me? What am I, your mother?"
05:51 Number 13, Modeling.
05:55 "The other thing you share is quite short-lived careers in modeling."
05:58 "Oh, I thought you just said short-lived careers."
06:00 Besides winning Oscars, Jennifer Lawrence and Eddie Redmayne
06:03 seem to have a lot of other things in common.
06:05 Coincidentally, this includes briefly dabbling in modeling with very mixed results.
06:10 While we're not quite sold on Eddie Redmayne rocking those seemingly hand-knit sweaters
06:14 and hoodies, at least they're a little more presentable than Jennifer Lawrence's,
06:18 whose photos never saw the light of day due to her being a tad too... boisterous.
06:23 "Like, at one point a girl yelled, 'Just get her away from me!'"
06:25 Ah well, a loss for the modeling industry is Graham Norton's gain.
06:30 Number 12, Young Ryan Gosling's Dance Moves.
06:34 "We're going to focus on the early dancing career of Mr. Ryan Gosling."
06:38 Everyone has to start somewhere.
06:42 While promoting La La Land, Ryan Gosling gets something of an unwanted trip down
06:47 memory lane as Graham reveals that they have clips of him as a child at a dance competition.
06:51 "I wish I could say someone said, 'Here, you have to wear this.' That was my idea."
06:57 The video itself is adorable to watch, as a young Gosling shows off his moves.
07:02 But what's even funnier is when he reveals that behind the scenes,
07:05 the whole thing had a much darker side.
07:07 What with the other dancers flipping him the bird before his performance started.
07:11 "The two twins are standing there like the twins from The Shining.
07:14 And they're just going like this."
07:17 Kids can be so cruel.
07:21 Number 11, Baking Innuendos.
07:23 "The amount of innuendo when you're tasting, you know, it seems like soggy bottoms and,
07:29 'Oh, it's so moist.'"
07:30 During a New Year's special, Graham managed to land a whole slew of celebrities on his couch,
07:34 including Hugh Jackman, Billy Crystal, and the co-hosts of the highly successful
07:38 Great British Bake Off, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.
07:42 As it turns out, many of the comments these two star bakers have made over the course
07:46 of their series can be interpreted as rather erotic.
07:49 Naturally, Graham asked Hugh Jackman and Billy Crystal to read some of them
07:53 with some rather raunchy mood music.
07:55 "Squeeze your bag. Is it trickling down?"
08:00 "No."
08:00 Have you ever wanted to see Wolverine talk dirty to Mike Wazowski?
08:07 Well, here it is in all its kinky glory.
08:10 "If it's leaked, you will get wet."
08:12 Number 10, Nunchuck Skills.
08:19 "We've now learnt, ladies and gentlemen, that Rebel Wilson, you are a trained sort of ninja."
08:25 "Yeah."
08:26 Rebel Wilson is a woman of many talents, and while she's mostly known for her singing and acting,
08:31 it turns out she's also a ninja in training.
08:34 "Have I been in a novice all-star martial arts championship? Yes.
08:38 Uh, did I get my face punched in? Yes."
08:42 After revealing that she's pretty handy when it comes to wielding nunchucks,
08:47 she goes on to put her money where her mouth is and floors everybody by showing off her skills.
08:51 "So you can do a little nunchuck display?"
08:54 "Sure."
08:54 "Okay, take the stick and bring it down."
08:57 With an oddly fitting backing track and zero fear in her performance,
09:00 it's not hard to see why Kit Harington and Matt LeBlanc look so stunned.
09:04 When you can make Joey Tribbiani and Jon Snow gape,
09:07 then you know you've made a hell of an impression.
09:10 "That was really, that was proper."
09:12 "Yeah, so if you're thinking of mugging me on the street, maybe think again."
09:16 Number 9, Russell Crowe and the Red Chair.
09:19 "Are you, you apparently are keen on the red chair, Russell."
09:22 "Oh, it's one of my favorite parts of your show."
09:24 While promoting Man of Steel with his fellow cast members,
09:27 everybody's favorite Australian was given the chance to control the red chair section of Graham's show.
09:32 "Hi, so I'm not doing this, it's Russell Crowe, you need to impress with your story.
09:36 And what's your name?"
09:37 "Laura."
09:38 The premise is rather simple.
09:40 Audience members have to get a laugh with a story of theirs, but if they fail to do so,
09:44 the host can pull a nearby lever and send them flying back in their seat.
09:48 "Russell, last year I went to a music festival, uh, down in Newquay."
09:51 "He's a New Zealander, is he?"
09:52 "Yeah."
09:53 "New Zealander, yeah, yeah."
09:54 "Oh, yeah."
09:54 Eager to take control, Graham hands over the reins to Crowe,
10:00 who shows no mercy and pretty soon bodies are sent flying.
10:04 "Can he walk? Oh, you can walk, you can walk. Walk!"
10:10 Are you not entertained?
10:11 "It's not like we're going to be unreasonable."
10:14 Number 8, Hugh Bonneville and the Wooly Jumper.
10:16 Few ensembles in this show's history can rival the comedy gold combination of Matt Damon,
10:22 Bill Murray, and Hugh Bonneville.
10:23 "Here he is on top gear. Now, a lot of people were focused on the jumper."
10:27 [Laughter]
10:30 As Graham Norton quizzes Hugh about his appearance on top gear, Damon and Murray,
10:34 and the audience too, all immediately go into stitches at the sight of Bonneville's Wooly Jumper.
10:39 "I was roasting because you're exerting so much adrenaline and sweat because you're in a, well,
10:44 just right now your lips are turning a different color."
10:48 [Laughter]
10:49 Apparently, it can get quite chilly in the top gear studio,
10:52 but that still doesn't explain why he'd be wearing lipstick.
10:56 "My favorite Wooly Jumper in my lippy."
10:58 [Laughter]
10:59 "My lippy?"
11:00 "Lippy?"
11:01 "What's that mean in America?"
11:02 "I don't know."
11:03 This whole episode was a riot, but Bill Murray grilling Bonneville about his lippy
11:08 and the Wooly Jumper was an all-time moment.
11:10 Even Matt Damon gets in a couple of digs.
11:12 "So, so good, that film."
11:14 "Thank you."
11:15 "Just brilliant."
11:16 "Thank you, I think the key to my performance was I borrowed Hugh's lippy."
11:19 [Laughter]
11:20 Number 7. Pine Nuts vs. Cumberbitches.
11:23 "Chris, your fans have a name, they're called..."
11:25 "The Pine Nuts, yes."
11:26 "The Pine Nuts?"
11:26 "No, they're not."
11:27 "Oh, the Pine Nuts."
11:27 "Yes."
11:28 "And Benedict, what are your fans called?"
11:31 [Laughter]
11:34 "The Cumber Collective."
11:35 [Laughter]
11:36 "No, they're not."
11:37 We all know fans can go a little overboard sometimes,
11:40 but you'd be hard-pressed to find more devoted followers
11:43 than those of Chris Pine and Benedict Cumberbatch.
11:46 "So, if you've traveled to see the guys tonight, put your hands up."
11:49 "Put your hands up."
11:50 "Oh, quite a few."
11:51 While promoting Star Trek into darkness,
11:53 two of Hollywood's biggest heartthrobs were asked about their fan bases.
11:57 And not only did their hilarious nicknames come to light,
11:59 it was also revealed that many fans were willing to travel great distances
12:03 just to see the actors.
12:05 "Hi, I'm from Germany."
12:06 "Really? Did you come from Germany?"
12:08 "I came, I took a 20-hour bus."
12:10 "Oh my God."
12:10 "To London."
12:12 "Wow."
12:12 Turns out there were more Cumberbitches in the audience,
12:16 but when you have a pinenut who took a direct flight from Japan
12:19 just to get a glimpse of Captain Kirk,
12:21 that shows a special kind of commitment.
12:23 "Japan, and you're here for Cumberbitch or pinenut?"
12:27 "Pine."
12:27 "It's a pinenut! We have a pinenut! You have to, you have to."
12:32 [Applause]
12:39 Number 6. Seth MacFarlane's Rogues Gallery
12:42 "I knew a thousand Peter Griffins growing up in New England,
12:46 guys who would not think before they spoke like-"
12:49 "No self-editing mechanism. It's coming out here with no gateway."
12:53 While interviewing the creator of Family Guy about his new comedy,
12:56 A Million Ways to Die in the West,
12:58 Graham couldn't resist asking him to let loose a few of his signature voices.
13:02 "Hey, what's going on?"
13:03 "Oh, hello, fat man."
13:04 "Oh, Stewie, how are you?"
13:06 Not only do we get some classic lines from the Griffins,
13:09 such as Brian and Stewie's universally loved cool whip routine,
13:13 "Yes, sir Brian, would you like some cool whip?"
13:14 "What, why, why are you saying it like that?"
13:17 "What am I saying? I'm saying cool whip."
13:18 We also get Seth's impression of the famous Taken speech,
13:21 with the part of Liam Neeson played by Kermit the Frog.
13:24 "If you don't let the girl go, I will track you down. I will find you, and I will kill you."
13:31 He would reprise this yet again after some further prodding in another appearance,
13:35 where McFarlane gave us the treat of hearing some of Cindy Lopper's greatest hits,
13:38 sung by Peter and Stewie Griffin.
13:40 How's that for karaoke?
13:42 "If you're lost, you can look and you will find me. Time after time."
13:49 Number 5 - Rejected on National Television
13:52 "Hello, who's there?"
13:53 "Hello, sir."
13:53 "Hello, what's your name?"
13:54 "Thomas."
13:55 While the red chair stories can be hit and miss,
13:57 they always end on a laugh because they're either genuinely funny
14:01 or contestants are sent flying back in the chair.
14:03 But none has ever been quite like this.
14:06 "So I asked a girl out a couple of weeks ago and she said yes,
14:09 which was great because she's quite hot and like I really get the job done."
14:13 Turns out the gentleman's story involves a member of the audience
14:16 who initially rejected his proposal for a date because it clashed with the show,
14:20 and so he decided to go on live TV and ask her again.
14:23 "Can I just say, Thomas, you're very keen,
14:25 because she has given you no indication that she is."
14:30 It may seem like a rather sweet gesture until it all comes apart when she rejects him again.
14:35 "Are we going to flip Thomas or are we going to let Thomas walk?"
14:38 "Kylie, please will you lever him off the red chair?"
14:41 Superstars Kylie Minogue and Simon Pegg couldn't help but react to it all.
14:49 "Oh, he's going to be having nightmares the rest of his life."
14:51 Number 4 - Emma Stone and the Spice Girls
14:58 "What is the hold that the Spice Girls have over you? Is this real?"
15:02 When Emma Stone's manic obsession with the 90s pop group came to light during
15:06 the press tour of The Amazing Spider-Man 2,
15:08 it almost overshadowed everything else about the film.
15:11 "I've been talking more about the Spice Girls on this press tour
15:14 than I have about the movie."
15:15 "Because you wept, you wept in Australia."
15:18 "I know, I wept."
15:19 After sharing a fairly friendly story about how she became entranced
15:21 by the Spice Girls as a child, Graham slowly begins to suggest
15:25 that the Spice Girls are actually assembled backstage.
15:28 To which Gwen Stacy nearly has a breakdown.
15:30 "I'm, wait, hold on. I have to mentally prepare myself."
15:34 The tension builds and builds, only to reveal that they're not there at all,
15:38 leaving a very let down Emma Stone and the rest of the guests laughing their heads off.
15:42 "So, they're not here."
15:44 Number 3 - Fresh Prince Reunion
15:53 "I've got some, like, mics. If you could, do you want to do a little bit of rapping?"
15:58 "I don't think you're gonna."
15:59 After taking the internet by storm with his live rendition
16:02 of the classic Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song,
16:04 Will Smith decided to up the ante with his next appearance on the Graham Norton show,
16:13 bringing along his son Jaden, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and even Carlton himself, Alfonso Ribeiro.
16:19 "It's gotta amuse you all to be number one."
16:23 "It's gotta amuse you all to have fun with anyone."
16:28 Not only do we get the Carlton dance in all its glory,
16:31 but the whole cast goes on to perform Apache by the Sugarhill Gang.
16:34 Hip thrusts and all.
16:36 Even Graham gets a chance to bust a move and jump on it.
16:38 "Wow!"
16:39 Number 2 - The Fly
16:47 "Oh my god, that's the biggest fly I've ever seen."
16:49 Turns out when surprises occur on the Graham Norton show,
16:56 things don't get deterred, things get hysterical.
16:59 "If it landed here, what you do is you go, 'Oh, get it over here.'
17:03 'Cause you put it there and you go…"
17:05 When a fly invades the couch, the combined might of Chris O'Dowd,
17:09 Kristen Wiig, and Steve Carell tries to kill it, but it manages to escape.
17:13 Until a very unfortunate Chris O'Dowd accidentally chews it after it lands in his glass.
17:18 "Did you just drink the fly?"
17:19 "Is it alive in your mouth?"
17:24 "Did you see how did he put it in his mouth?"
17:27 "Oh my sweet god."
17:30 We're not sure what's funnier, Kristen Wiig's jump scare,
17:33 Steve Carell's killer instinct, or the look of horror on Chris O'Dowd's face.
17:37 It may have been unexpected, but it left everyone in fits of laughter.
17:41 "Oh! No!"

18:02 Number 1. Miriam Margulies
18:11 Despite the fact that she appears prim and proper and is a veteran actor,
18:14 this chat show favorite certainly has a naughty streak in her.
18:18 Every time she's been on the show, Miriam Margulies comes armed with a story or memory
18:22 that's so out of left field and crass that you and everybody on the couch are left in shock.
18:26 "He climbed up and I said, 'What are you doing?'"
18:30 "And he said, 'Making it rain.'"
18:33 Whether it's lending a hand to a soldier out of a sense of duty or recollecting the time
18:37 she witnessed Laurence Olivier, whenever the OBE shows up, you can bet she is bringing a
18:42 whole lot of laughs with her. "I remember so distinctly that I started to p*** in my knickers."
18:49 Which of these moments brings a smile to your face? Let us know in the comments.
18:53 "We're trapped in England in these classes and I really wanted two like that, you know?"
