00:00 "One finds oneself in such an incredible position and well, one should declare it."
00:04 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're looking at Bridgerton's all-time most swoon-worthy moments.
00:10 "I did not ask for this, to be plagued by these feelings."
00:17 Number 20. Penelope and Colin
00:22 Penelope Featherington joins the grand tradition of girls who just adore the boy next door.
00:27 It's obvious from the very beginning that she's completely smitten with Colin Bridgerton.
00:32 Unfortunately, Colin spends most of the season with eyes only for her cousin Marina,
00:37 but the two do still get some heartwarming moments for themselves.
00:41 In the first episode, we understand exactly why Penelope is crushing on Colin,
00:45 when he gallantly shows up to society mean girls on her behalf.
00:49 "I'm afraid I cannot offer you that dance, Ms. Calcott. I am to escort Ms. Featherington to the floor."
00:56 Throughout the season, he also appreciates her compassion and unexpectedly savage wit.
01:01 "But do you not think the boy bears a part of a resemblance to Lady Trowbridge's footman?"
01:04 "Penelope? What a bomb."
01:08 However, it's not until the finale when he really seems to see his old friend in a new light.
01:14 "You really believe yourself in love. One should never apologize for that.
01:17 One finds oneself in such an incredible position and well,
01:21 one should declare it assuredly, fervently, proudly."
01:28 Number 19. Simon educates Daphne
01:33 Sex ed for Regency ladies left a lot to be desired.
01:36 "No, I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at the absurdity of how little mothers tell their daughters."
01:41 "You tell us nothing."
01:42 When a conversation between Simon and Daphne steers into decidedly unladylike territory,
01:47 Simon is initially reluctant to fill in the gaps.
01:50 Daphne is insistent though. We can't blame her for wanting to know more.
01:55 And apparently, Simon can't either.
01:57 "There's a natural continuation of what happens at night."
02:00 "At night? What happens at night?"
02:03 "When you are alone."
02:05 "When I am sleeping."
02:07 "Not when you are sleeping."
02:09 Seeing his hint has caused confusion, Simon urges Daphne to experiment on her own.
02:14 "When you find a feeling you particularly enjoy, you can carry on with that."
02:20 Between the smoldering eye contact and the forbidden subject matter,
02:23 this moment is unmistakably hot.
02:26 However, it offers us a glimpse of more.
02:29 In his openness to helping her, we see Simon's genuine respect for Daphne's experience as a human being.
02:36 It's a modern aspect of romance that we were happy to see included.
02:41 Number 18. Anthony returns to Sienna
02:44 Anthony and Sienna's passion for each other is one of the first plot points established on Bridgerton.
02:49 Their different social statuses soon separate them, however,
02:52 as Anthony is encouraged to prioritize his duty to his family.
02:57 "Are you to return to your bachelor lodgings across the square,
02:59 or will you pay a visit to a certain soprano that you tend to
03:02 in an apartment that you pay for on the other side of town,
03:05 relying on your younger brothers to one day do the job that you cannot?"
03:10 Of course, feelings can't be turned off that easily.
03:13 When Anthony challenges Simon on behalf of his sister's honor,
03:17 his heart takes him running right back to Sienna.
03:20 "We cannot be together. I know that now this world shall not permit it,
03:23 but what if we were to find ourselves in another situation?
03:25 In a place where you and I might be accepted,
03:27 with none of the shame nor recriminations that this society grants us.
03:30 Would you have me then?"
03:31 Facing the reality of what the next morning could mean for his life,
03:35 he makes her an impulsive proposal.
03:37 "If I live to see sunrise, I am free.
03:39 I'm free of society, free of these rules, the very ones that keep us apart.
03:45 We could go together away from all this, Sienna."
03:47 In that moment, even pragmatic Sienna can't deny her love for Anthony.
03:52 Though we know that they're probably both destined for heartbreak,
03:56 in that instant it's easy to get swept up, just as Anthony and Sienna do.
04:00 Number 17. Kate and Anthony dance
04:03 "Lord Bridgerton."
04:04 "Michonne."
04:07 After already turning down one offer to be the next Viscountess Bridgerton,
04:12 Kate finally listens to Edwina telling her that it's all right
04:15 to act on her feelings for Anthony.
04:17 "Perhaps the spectators might take pity on me.
04:20 I was on the dance floor days after a terrible injury to the head.
04:25 Perhaps I needed someone to steady me."
04:29 Kate ultimately arrives at the final ball of the season,
04:32 and decides that she's done denying her feelings,
04:35 approaching Anthony as he asks her to dance.
04:37 "Are you going to ask me to dance?
04:39 One last time?"
04:42 "Are you going to say yes?"
04:44 She gives him a few excuses for why them dancing together
04:48 after such a huge scandal is entirely plausible,
04:51 and the pair take to the floor as a very apt string cover of wrecking ball plays.
04:55 Hearts around the world melted when Anthony proposed to Kate for the second time,
04:59 calling her by her full name.
05:01 "You do know there'll never be a day where you do not vex me?"
05:09 "Is that a promise, Chthoni Sharma?"
05:11 Number 16.
05:14 The Beginning
05:15 In one of many parallels to the works of Jane Austen,
05:18 Daphne and Simon's first meeting sends sparks flying in vexation more than attraction.
05:24 "If you desire an introduction, madam,
05:25 I do believe accosting me to be the least civilized of ways."
05:28 "Accosting you?"
05:29 "Surely they will try anything."
05:31 "Sir, that is not... this is not... what is your name?"
05:35 That changes once they have a common goal.
05:38 Both hounded by the writings of Lady Whistledown,
05:41 the pair decides to solve their separate problems
05:44 by forming a very public and very false attachment.
05:48 "You presume Lady Whistledown?"
05:49 "I presume surely must be precisely what we are.
05:52 Me, unavailable. You, desirable."
05:55 The arrangement might be fake, but as we soon see,
05:58 the chemistry between them is anything but.
06:01 "Here. Closer.
06:07 If this is to work, you must appear madly in love."
06:10 It will take Daphne and Simon a while to realize
06:14 that they're destined to be more than partners in their plot.
06:17 However, to everyone else watching,
06:19 it couldn't be more clear that what these two already have
06:22 is nothing short of fireworks.
06:24 Number 15. Quiet Moments
06:27 "Forgive me, I was simply..."
06:28 "In need of some quiet. I've been in search of it all night."
06:34 Readers of the books will know that Francesca's story
06:36 details her falling for her second husband Michael,
06:39 not her first, whom we see very little of.
06:42 That's not the case in the show, however,
06:44 as we're also seeing Francesca fall for Lord John Stirling,
06:47 the Earl of Kilmartin,
06:48 after the two encounter each other at a party.
06:51 "Miss Francesca."
06:52 "John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin."
06:56 "It is a pleasure to meet you."
06:58 "Pleasure is mine."
06:58 Francesca had spent the season so far wanting a practical husband
07:02 who will let her pursue her passion for music,
07:05 and doesn't feel compelled to make conversation when none is necessary.
07:08 "She does not speak to him."
07:09 "I am in awe. I thought one had to use wit or banter
07:14 to dissuade a suited but simple silence."
07:16 "It's radically more effective."
07:18 Though everybody else in the tonne thinks they're an odd couple,
07:21 they're an ideal match,
07:22 proving that a great romance looks and feels different to everybody.
07:26 Number 14. Call Me By My Name
07:29 Simon and Daphne might be on the same team,
07:32 but they are not initially on the same page.
07:35 After some early bumps in their fake relationship,
07:38 Daphne lays her cards on the table.
07:40 "This is about a life, Your Grace. My life.
07:43 I must finally take charge of it.
07:46 I cannot afford to do otherwise, so I shall not have this go wrong."
07:52 This kind of blunt honesty does not come up much in Regency ballrooms.
07:57 Going with the new theme of transparency,
07:59 Simon decides that they might as well drop all the social formality between them.
08:04 "If we are truly to seem to be courting,
08:05 if this is to be a match like no other,
08:07 then you should call me by my name."
08:09 The newfound familiarity is amusing to Daphne at first,
08:12 until Simon uses her own name in return.
08:15 "She's perfectly fine."
08:17 "I'm not perfectly fine. I'm very well, Daphne."
08:21 The impact of this intimacy is immediately apparent
08:24 in the change of mood between the two,
08:26 especially as we see a token act of physical intimacy as well.
08:30 Though the ruse goes on, something has obviously taken root between them.
08:34 Number 13. Bee sting
08:37 Season 2 introduced us to Anthony's trauma
08:39 after witnessing his father die of a bee sting.
08:41 "Content? Do not tell me what to do!"
08:44 While bickering with Kate yet again after their contentious game of pow-wow,
08:52 Anthony loses all of his composure when a bee lands on her.
08:55 "No, do not do it!"
08:56 "This is only a bee! Ow!"
08:57 He has a full-blown panic attack when the bee stings her,
09:04 fearing that she might die the same way Edmund did.
09:07 "I am unharmed. I am unharmed."
09:10 She's able to calm him down in a very charged moment,
09:18 as they yet again try to resist the all-consuming urge to kiss.
09:21 "It was just... a bee."
09:26 They're interrupted and return to themselves,
09:29 but this scene of extreme vulnerability is a cornerstone of their relationship going forwards.
09:33 Number 12. A stolen touch
09:36 Sometimes the most significant moments are the most subtle.
09:40 Bridgerton takes pleasure in reminding us of that fact
09:43 in a scene that brings to mind Pride and Prejudice.
09:46 With their ruse going exactly according to plan,
09:49 Daphne and Simon are pleased with themselves when they meet at a society art exhibition.
09:54 "We are awfully clever."
09:55 "Indeed we are."
09:56 "Excessive pride suits you, Miss Bridgerton."
10:01 "Pride is a sin, Your Grace."
10:03 "One of the lesser sins, but do not worry. It must all start somewhere."
10:08 Their flirtatious banter gradually takes a turn, though.
10:12 As they contemplate a painting,
10:13 Daphne seems to recognize an emotional quality in the work,
10:17 one that clearly speaks to Simon as well.
10:19 "If I could be the only person left in the world, and yet somehow I am not lonely.
10:25 I am comforted. At peace."
10:29 Watching their hands reach for each other almost as if they're magnetically drawn,
10:32 we realize that their connection is already deeper than just physical chemistry.
10:46 It's an all-too-brief moment that tells us everything about their true feelings.
10:51 Number 11. Cracking the case.
10:53 "I couldn't tell you. Not when she was still watching me.
10:57 Why do you think I ended things the way I did with you,
11:00 despite wanting to do the very opposite?"
11:02 Though she'd previously vowed to never marry a man,
11:05 Eloise finally got a taste of romance in season two,
11:08 when she met the handsome printing apprentice Theo Sharp.
11:11 Unlike the gentleman of the taun, Theo not only listens to Eloise's ideas,
11:15 but challenges them, something she thrives on.
11:18 "I must know everything you know."
11:19 "The manuscripts came early mornings. Twice a week, usually."
11:24 "Do you have the wrapping they came in?"
11:26 "They never came in wrapping. They came sewn into silks."
11:29 Through him, she begins to learn about the world beyond Mayfair,
11:33 and how privileged she really is.
11:35 At the end of the season, they very nearly kiss
11:37 while trying to solve Lady Whistledown's identity.
11:39 "Oh, no bother here."
11:44 "I'll get some."
11:51 It was devastating when Eloise, paranoid by Penelope warning her away from Theo,
11:56 all to protect her identity, called it off, because they were a great match.
12:00 Their investigation was fun while it lasted.
12:03 "People are already talking about us, Theo.
12:05 And no, I do not normally care what other people think, but yes, I care about you."
12:11 Number 10. Kiss Me
12:13 "Would you kiss me?"
12:14 "Penelope."
12:19 "It would not have to mean anything."
12:20 After Colin decides to teach Penelope how to be charming in order to snare a husband,
12:25 he soon finds himself falling for her. But he doesn't even start to put two and two together
12:29 properly until, late in the Featherington Garden one night, Penelope asks Colin to kiss her.
12:34 "But I am nearly on the shelf, and I have never been kissed,
12:36 and I am not certain I ever will be. I could die tomorrow."
12:40 Terrified she's going to remain a spinster forever and that no man will ever kiss her,
12:45 she persuades him to do just that. Although, of course, he doesn't take much persuading.
12:50 In that moment, sparks fly. The following episode opens with Colin dreaming about their liaison,
13:04 taking even more liberties with Penelope while he grapples with his newfound feelings for his
13:08 dearest friend. Number 9. Hunting Trip
13:12 Never before has a glimpse of thigh caused so much pain.
13:15 "You're still convinced we've lost our prey?"
13:17 "I'm convinced that deer prefer the edge of the forest. This is much too open out here."
13:24 In this classic scene, Kate ends up joining the men as they go hunting in the grounds of Aubrey
13:29 Hall, but abandons the main group because she's convinced that they're on the wrong track.
13:34 Anthony follows, pursuing her deeper into the woods, after all but losing his mind when Kate
13:39 lifts her dress a little too high to step over a log. "You were overcovered." "Indeed I was not."
13:44 "You were the one who then looked at me." "You looked at me!"
13:46 "Not in the way that you did." "And how exactly did I look?"
13:48 When he then teaches her how to hold and shoot the gun, things heat up even more.
13:55 "I require no instruction." "Just hold it. Like this."
14:03 It's no surprise that they very nearly kiss again later in the same episode.
14:07 Number 8. The First Kiss It may have only taken four episodes,
14:12 but by the time Simon and Daphne finally kissed, we felt like we were dying with anticipation.
14:18 In an attempt to avoid the increasingly potent emotions between him and Daphne,
14:22 Simon decides to leave London. "Love, your grace, conquers all."
14:31 "I believe that remains to be seen." He finds he can't go without one last goodbye, though.
14:37 Hurt by his emotional whiplash, Daphne does not receive him warmly.
14:41 "I shall not be led once more by you from this direction to that.
14:44 You are my friend, you are not my friend, you are a rake, you are not a rake, you are sorry."
14:50 "I am sorry." "That is very well."
14:52 The conversation quickly turns into an argument leading to a chase through the gardens,
14:56 where anger gives way to other passions.
15:00 "Listen!"
15:02 By this point, we were already well aware that Simon and Daphne were incapable of staying apart,
15:16 but seeing them throw all caution out the window and give in to each other
15:19 was an epic moment of romantic fantasy.
15:22 Number 7. Chase Through the Rain "One of the horses is gone too."
15:29 With his wedding to Edwina called off and he and Kate finally giving into their intense
15:33 attraction to each other, it seems that nothing's standing in the way of Anthony proposing.
15:38 But Kate leaves early the next morning to ride through the rain and collect her thoughts.
15:42 Tragedy strikes, however, as she falls from the horse and hits her head on a rock.
15:56 "Kate!"
15:58 Anthony heroically rescues her, carrying her through the rain back to safety
16:10 so that she can make a full recovery.
16:12 "Kate!"
16:14 It was a shocking cliffhanger to leave season 2's penultimate episode on,
16:20 made worse by the fact that Kate still refused his first proposal when she awoke.
16:24 But who wouldn't want to be rescued by the Viscount?
16:27 Number 6. The Royal Audience Simon tried and tried, but in the end,
16:32 he couldn't escape his love for Daphne. He may not have been pleased to marry her,
16:37 but if there were any doubts left about the sincerity of his feelings,
16:41 he removes them all when the couple requires the Queen's help for their expedited wedding.
16:46 "So romance was entirely out of the question for both of us.
16:49 But in so removing it, we found something far greater."
16:52 "We found friendship."
16:55 In confessing the truth about their ruse, Simon finally opens his heart.
16:59 Namely, he reveals what was so strongly implied previously.
17:03 "We fooled them into thinking we are courting. And really, all along,
17:08 we simply enjoyed each other's company so much we could not stay away from one another."
17:12 To hear Simon describe how he fell in love with Daphne for her personality
17:17 is almost more effective than their many sexually charged physical scenes.
17:21 "To meet a beautiful woman is one thing, but to meet your best friend and the most
17:26 beautiful of women is something entirely apart."
17:28 We get a couple who like each other as much as they want each other.
17:33 It's an expression of what lasting love is really built on.
17:36 Number 5. The King Remembers Fans of The Notebook will be primed to
17:41 deal with this heartbreaking moment that comes at the very end of Queen Charlotte.
17:45 As the succession crisis looms in the present,
17:47 the Queen reminisces about her early relationship with King George III.
17:51 He's rarely lucid in the show, and is often kept away from the Queen and other members of society.
17:56 "Thank you."
18:00 "Thank you."
18:07 But in this beautiful, gut-wrenching moment,
18:09 the King briefly remembers who Charlotte is and that they're in love.
18:13 "Fancy meeting you here."
18:15 We see their younger selves and their older selves together.
18:22 And if this didn't bring a tear to your eye, you must have a heart of stone.
18:26 Number 4. The Carriage Scene
18:41 "Penelope."
18:42 "I do not wish to speak with you."
18:46 "Please."
18:47 Finally, Colin has worked out what he wants,
18:49 and goes to the ball to try and persuade Penelope not to accept a proposal
18:53 from the eligible Lord Dublin.
18:55 "Feelings like dreaming of you when I'm asleep, and in fact preferring sleep
18:58 because that is where I might find you."
19:00 After Dublin realizes something is afoot and calls things off with Pen,
19:04 Colin and Penelope ride home together, and he confesses that he has feelings for her.
19:08 "A feeling that is like torture, but one which I cannot, will not, do not want to give up."
19:19 She initially isn't sure he's being honest, and who can blame her?
19:23 But they quickly give in to the passion that's been building all season
19:26 when Colin makes a declaration of love for the ages.
19:29 "I'd very much like to be more than friends.
19:31 So much more."
19:37 This scene is ripped straight from the books,
19:39 as they also nearly lose their honor during a carriage ride.
19:42 And in both versions, it ends with Colin proposing.
19:45 It only took him a lifetime.
19:47 "For God's sake, Penelope Featherington, are you going to marry me or not?"
19:51 The allure between Simon and Daphne is almost unbearably powerful.
19:59 Despite this, their wedding night gets off to an awkward start
20:03 when Simon makes it clear he plans to sleep in a separate room.
20:06 "I understand that you do not wish to see me.
20:08 That you would prefer to stay in your separate room
20:11 and endure a wordless dinner together on our wedding night."
20:14 "That is not what I would prefer."
20:16 Though the audience knows about his previous vow never to marry,
20:19 it's a surprise to everyone when Daphne confronts him
20:22 and the real reason for his behavior is made clear.
20:25 "I'm not angry."
20:26 "You look angry and bothered. Look at you, you're downright flush."
20:30 "Yes, that is what happens."
20:31 "When one is angry."
20:32 "When one burns for someone who does not feel the same."
20:34 Given the events that have led up to this moment,
20:36 it's amazing to think Simon could believe Daphne does not want him.
20:41 She doesn't hesitate to set the record straight though.
20:44 "It is you I cannot sacrifice.
20:46 I burn for you."
20:52 While the bedroom scene that follows is on fire,
20:55 seeing this couple's earnest love confessed freely is what gets our hearts racing.
21:00 "You are the bane of my existence."
21:03 "So tell me, what has she done?"
21:04 "She has done nothing, it is you. You have made this match impossible."
21:08 "But I am leaving for India."
21:09 "And it is not far enough."
21:11 Anthony is still set on marrying Edwina while grappling
21:14 with his uncontrollable feelings for Kate.
21:16 She tells him that none of this matters because she will go back to India
21:20 at the end of the season.
21:21 Cue this iconic confession.
21:23 "You are the bane of my existence.
21:31 And the object of all my desires."
21:33 It became an instant classic, one of the most quoted moments of the show,
21:38 and a personal favorite of viewers worldwide.
21:41 "Night and day, I dream of you.
21:43 And what are you?
21:45 Do you even know all the ways a lady can be seduced?"
21:52 The scene almost results in Anthony calling off the wedding early,
21:55 with Edwina's lack of dowry as an excuse.
21:58 We can't believe that they were still able to control themselves,
22:01 at least partially, for multiple episodes after this happened.

22:21 Number 1. The Hastings Ball
22:23 The course of true love never did run smooth, but Daphne, for one, is not easily scared.
22:29 "I love all of you. Even the parts that you believe are too dark and too shameful.
22:35 Every scar, every flaw, every imperfection. I love you."
22:43 Though the pair started their London ball poised to walk away from each other forever,
22:47 time slows during what is meant to be their last dance.
22:51 As the unexpected rain drives their guests away,
22:54 Daphne goes right to the crux of all of Simon's insecurities.
22:58 "Just because something is not perfect, does not make it any less worthy of love."
23:04 Her heartfelt speech isn't demanding or grandiose, just a simple statement of genuine love.
23:11 It seems to finally convince Simon he is worthy of the happiness he has denied himself.
23:17 By the time they fully reconcile, he understands that life may never be simple,
23:21 but it will always be better with his true love and best friend.
23:25 "You stay and we get through this together.
23:29 If you do this, if we do this, then-"
23:35 "Then nothing else will matter."
23:36 Now that is worth swooning for.
