Washington Beats Oregon, Heads to College Football Playoffs

00:08 13 games including last night's Pac-12 Championship game and
00:12 Washington won all 13. Kev, what did you see out of the
00:15 Huskies last night in that Pac-12 title game in Las Vegas
00:19 and what does it mean for Washington here in 2023? Well,
00:22 it it means they're in the college football playoff.
00:24 There's no doubt about it. Sitting at three, picking up a
00:27 top five win based on how the committee has slotted these
00:29 teams. We have now officially put one team into one of those
00:33 final four slots. Not to take anything away from Washington
00:37 but I think it's true that Oregon is one of the most
00:41 overrated teams in all of college football. I know they
00:43 played very well and they they found a way to beat up on
00:45 teams. The win at Rice Eccles is still one of the most
00:48 impressive of the season but when it came down to it, this
00:51 team finishes with just one win against top 25 opponents.
00:55 Their test was Washington. They failed both times. Yeah and
00:58 and you look at Washington in terms of that match up being an
01:01 underdog heading into that ball game not by one or two points
01:04 but by almost double digits, Ben, like you alluded to. I
01:08 think they took a chip on their shoulder and it was evident in
01:11 terms of the first quarter of that ball game. Yeah. They came
01:14 out focused. The biggest thing for me was the offense and
01:16 defense line play of Washington because I think a lot of people
01:20 and experts thought heading into that ball game, the
01:22 ability to run the football between the tackles, that would
01:25 benefit Bucky Irvin and the Oregon offensive line. Yeah.
01:28 Quite the contrary, right? Dylan Johnson steps up two
01:31 touchdowns, a buck fifty-two on the ground and the way the
01:34 Washington defense contained Bo Nix, he made some plays but to
01:39 contain that offense to three at ten on third down conversions,
01:42 basically that was the difference in the ball game and
01:44 why they picked it up by three points.
