00:36only a two and a half point spread separated the two schools
00:40entering the college football playoff quarterfinal yesterday
00:43afternoon. So we expected a game that would live up to the
00:47billing once more. But on the first day of 2025, in the second
00:52game of the year between the Buckeyes and the Ducks, it was
00:55all Ohio State from the very start. 4121 Ohio State prevails
01:03in the Rose Bowl and earns a spot in the college football
01:06playoff semifinal. The Buckeyes easily cover DRS as that two and
01:11a half point favorite a total of 55 and a hook skies over Ohio
01:15State scored 42 against Tennessee in the opening round
01:19in Columbus. They scored 41 last night against Oregon. They have
01:24outscored their two teams, their two foes in the college
01:27football playoff by more than 40 points. Ohio State since the loss
01:33to Michigan has been a wagon in the college football playoff.
01:38They absolutely have. And here's the problem we have with this
01:40like the best pop pop and pageantry does come from the
01:43Rose Bowl. But the Rose Bowl thinks of itself a little bit
01:46too high and mighty at times. The reason why I'm saying this
01:48is you see my affinity for the Rose Bowl itself, man. Like I
01:51even tweet out yesterday, like I do. I truly believe every
01:54Super Bowl and every national championship game in college
01:56football should be played at the Rose Bowl because the environment
01:59is just college football perfection. Now, anybody that's
02:01been there tells me the stadium is horrible. It's impossible to
02:03get in and out. It's not so great at that point. But for TV
02:06perspective and the mountains in the background, the big games,
02:09it's fun. Now let's get this out of the way. I don't think very
02:11many people were able to enjoy that game. If you're in the
02:13stands. Yes, you did. If you're a Buckeyes fan. Yep. If you had
02:16any tickets on the game that cast, it was great. But we were
02:19watching an all time game between Texas and Arizona State
02:23that the Rose Bowl is like, we're so important. We're still
02:26going to go on as planned as opposed to delay 15 minutes. And
02:29the reason I bring that up has been by the time that we finally
02:32saw that last interception in the Arizona State Texas game,
02:35the game was basically already over for Ohio State up seven
02:37nothing and driving again with the football. So we couldn't
02:40even enjoy like, okay, this game is over. Let me flip the Rose
02:42Bowl on. Let me get 25 minutes of the pump and the circumstance
02:45and the cameras and the drones and the beauty of the stadium
02:49itself and then sink into a football game. By the time I got
02:52there's like, oh, it's seven nothing already scored in one
02:54minute here. What did I miss? We didn't miss anything. It was a
02:56blowout. But the game itself showed how talented Ohio State
03:00is and how crazy we talk about the terms been like any given
03:03Sunday in the NFL. It's the same in college football, like
03:06Michigan, browbeating Ohio State for the Ohio State to go on and
03:10possibly winning a national championship is crazy work. And
03:13Oregon who already beat them this year at home now returns
03:16and goes, you know what, we weren't even close to them. How
03:19the heck do we even beat him in game number one? This looks like
03:21a completely different Ohio State game because why will
03:24Howard was aggressive and the play calling was aggressive 319
03:28and three touchdowns at a hand and he go with a running game
03:30probably didn't do much 31 for 181 six yards per carry roughly
