00:00 Your passion is coming off as erratic.
00:02 Right, well, you borrow my brain for five seconds and just be like, "Dude, can't handle it."
00:07 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the greatest instances
00:14 in which famous individuals lost their cool during interviews.
00:18 I don't follow like rules of like, you know, normal celebrity or what their
00:22 publicist tells them to say or anything.
00:23 Number 10, Mike Tyson.
00:27 Shit, you know, we're doing a lot of TV. I don't care, what are you going to do about it?
00:31 Despite being one of the most acclaimed boxers of all time,
00:34 Mike Tyson has always attracted controversy in his personal life.
00:38 The most media-heavy event occurred in 1992,
00:41 when Tyson was sentenced to six years in prison for sexual assault.
00:45 Despite the famous trial, Tyson was able to secure a successful comeback, but not everyone forgot.
00:51 Hey, um, I don't know who said that. You're the only one I heard say that.
00:54 You know what I mean? And I don't have no comment to that, you know,
00:58 because it's negative and you're being negative.
01:00 Certainly not Nathan Downer, the anchor of CP24 Toronto News.
01:05 Tyson sat down with Downer to promote his one-man show,
01:08 Undisputed Truth, when Downer brought up his prior conviction.
01:12 Feeling more than a little blindsided, Tyson cussed out Downer on live TV
01:17 and called him some not-so-nice names.
01:19 We suppose it could have been worse. He could have got a Mike Tyson punch to the jaw.
01:23 Oh, okay, here we go. All right, come on. Get out! Fuuuuuuuuck!
01:30 Number 9. Justin Bieber
01:32 When some people lose their patience, they scream and yell.
01:35 Others simply stand up and walk away. Justin Bieber belongs to the latter category,
01:40 as exemplified by this interview with the Spanish radio station 40 Principales.
01:45 Bieber, despite some somewhat awkward questions,
01:49 continued to provide the interviewers with patience and cordial answers.
01:53 What do you mean? On your own, your look? Who's gonna address you?
01:57 You choose your own looks? Yeah.
01:58 Oh, who gets... Yeah, I address myself. Oh, cool.
02:00 It seemed he'd run out of patience, though, by the time the host divulged their intention to,
02:05 quote, "break the internet" by having Bieber film a video with some famous European YouTubers.
02:11 His response will never not be funny.
02:14 Something tells us he didn't feel like breaking the internet that day.
02:17 Okay, okay, yeah. Come with us. Come with us.
02:20 And they are YouTubers. Vamos aquí.
02:23 Come with us. Here, here, here, here.
02:25 Number 8. Naomi Campbell
02:29 The case of the diamonds, the dictator, and the supermodel.
02:32 One of the most famous supermodels of all time, Naomi Campbell has enjoyed a long and
02:37 prosperous career. But it hasn't been completely without controversy. Back in 1997, Campbell
02:44 unknowingly received a group of blood diamonds from Liberian dictator and war criminal
02:50 Charles Taylor.
02:51 Campbell told a very different story. Now she says the dictator's henchman paid her a late
02:56 night visit, delivering a pouch of uncut, unpolished, precious stones.
03:01 ABC brought this up during an interview with Campbell, and suffice to say, she was none too
03:06 pleased. She began by politely declining the question, but the interviewer did not give in
03:12 and continued to pester her. Having had enough, Campbell thanked the interviewer,
03:16 walked away, and knocked a camera to the floor.
03:19 But what she told ABC News was a lie. She did receive diamonds from Taylor,
03:25 as she acknowledged under oath today.
03:27 Number 7. Machine Gun Kelly
03:29 Hey, what's up you guys? Chelsea Briggs here coming to you from the Billboard Hot 100
03:32 Festival, and I'm joined by one of my favorite people, the realist, Machine Gun Kelly.
03:37 Machine Gun Kelly sat down with Chelsea Briggs at the 2018 Billboard Hot 100 Fest.
03:44 But it was evident from the start that he'd rather have been anywhere else.
03:48 After quite the speech about wanting to make his daughter proud, he seemed to trek into territory
03:53 that touched a nerve, saying that he didn't want to do the interview and would rather let his music
03:57 speak for itself. Briggs handles it with incredible geniality and props to Kelly for coming back and
04:10 giving her a little apologetic handshake. Unlike some other storm-offs, this was clearly not
04:15 personal, and Kelly made that known. Number 6. Quentin Tarantino
04:28 The thing about being a celebrity is that you are asked the same questions again and again
04:40 and again, and maybe even again. Quentin Tarantino has long been accused of glorifying violence in
04:46 his films, and he's sick of being asked about it. That's evident by this very famous interview with
04:52 Channel 4's Krishnanguru Murthy. He asks Tarantino if there's a possible link between movie violence
05:10 and real violence, and the director soon grows annoyed, informing the interviewer that he's
05:14 already said all he needs to on the topic in the past 20 years. It results in a very awkward back
05:20 and forth that goes on for three solid minutes. How Tarantino managed to keep his cordiality and
05:26 professionalism in the end is beyond us. Number 5. R. Kelly
05:37 Unlike some other celebrities on this list, it's hard to find sympathy for R. Kelly.
05:48 The now-imprisoned musician sat down with CBS's Gayle King following the release of Surviving R.
05:54 Kelly to answer for the documentary's allegations. The interview begins well enough, but Kelly soon
06:00 loses his composure and goes completely off the rails. Perhaps the most famous bit sees Kelly
06:12 standing from his chair and screaming into the camera, letting loose with a couple of expletives
06:17 along the way. The interview understandably drew a lot of eyes, as dramatic outbursts tend to do.
06:23 This is now Kelly's legacy, screaming at the precipice of a legendary downfall.
06:28 Number 4. Whoopi Goldberg
06:34 Things can often get heated on the view, but it's rare that someone actually storms off the set.
06:43 Having hosted the talk show since 2007, Whoopi Goldberg is a consummate pro when it comes to
06:49 interviews and their possible resulting arguments. But this sit-down with famous
06:54 conservative Bill O'Reilly was just too much. Goldberg and O'Reilly were arguing about religious
07:06 issues when the political commentator dropped an offensive comment that shocked the talk show host.
07:11 It's sort of difficult to hear who's saying what when they all talk over each other,
07:15 but it's clear Goldberg and Joy Behar were trying to fight against racist rhetoric
07:20 when they stormed off. Number 3. Charlie Sheen
07:28 Following some time spent in rehabilitation for his substance use disorder,
07:40 Sheen made some insensitive remarks towards Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre.
07:45 This resulted in his termination from the show.
07:48 During that time, he also gave an interview with ABC that instantly went viral. Sheen made a number
08:01 of bizarre claims, most of which were memed into oblivion on social media. Some of the classics
08:07 include "I'm bi-winning" and "I got tiger blood." Despite all his classic films, and despite
08:15 starring in a mega-successful sitcom, this might be what Charlie Sheen is most remembered for.
08:21 Number 2. Kanye West
08:41 There's no denying that Kanye West is a legend, but man does the guy have an ego. West has a
08:47 history of going on talk show tangents, like the time he lost the plot and talked way too long on
08:53 Ellen. But that was nothing compared to his infamous rant on Jimmy Kimmel. While most talk
09:09 show interviews are short and fluffy, this one spanned over 20 minutes, a good chunk of which
09:14 was just Kanye talking to himself. He was none too humble, calling himself "a creative genius"
09:22 and comparing his output to visionaries like Michelangelo and Steve Jobs. He even brought
09:28 Jesus into the mix, making a comparison that may rile a few feathers.

09:49 Number 1. Tom Cruise
10:01 While most interviews with Tom Cruise go off without a hitch, there are some notable
10:05 exceptions. During one sit-down with the Australian program 60 Minutes,
10:09 Cruise lost his patience when asked about his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman.
10:14 But his most famous interview by far is the one given to Matt Lauer in 2005.
10:25 The notorious conflict occurred on the set of Today, when Cruise performed a rare PR blunder
10:30 and revealed his negative stances on psychiatry and medication.
10:34 Cruise got uncharacteristically testy with Lauer, his behavior only exacerbating his
10:40 controversial viewpoints. It didn't stop Cruise from being one of Hollywood's biggest stars,
10:45 but it sure did change a few minds. Did any of these interviews surprise you?
