00:00I'm self-made. I come from just putting two quarters together, two dollars together."
00:04Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we'll be looking at the most unsettling interviews
00:08with controversial celebrities that seemed to hint at an impending scandal,
00:11shortly before it actually hit.
00:12He had, like, all the hookups.
00:14Look, we took a night off. We took a night off.
00:17Chris D'Elia
00:18Stand-up comic and actor Chris D'Elia's career came to a screeching halt in June 2020 when he
00:23was accused of sexually harassing and grooming minors. It was also revealed that he had solicited
00:27explicit pictures from his alleged victims, presumably through the social media app Snapchat.
00:32While this news shocked many fans, D'Elia may have hinted at his behavior months earlier.
00:36During a December 2019 appearance on The Fighter and the Kid podcast, a conversation arose about
00:42a high school teacher who was caught sending inappropriate pictures to her student.
00:45Dang, she sent it through Snapchat. Why does she have her student's Snapchat?
00:49Yeah, well, that's weird, yeah.
00:50Initially, D'Elia seemed confused as he believed Snapchat messages vanished automatically.
00:55Snapchat goes away, right? How do they…
00:56He probably saved it. You can screen record, take screenshots.
00:59Wow.
01:00But once he learned they could actually be saved,
01:02you could pretty much see the gears turning in his head.
01:05Lori Loughlin
01:06In a December 2018 interview with Access Hollywood, actress Lori Loughlin weighed
01:10in on the Kevin Hart Oscars controversy, expressing her disappointment with a world
01:14that seemed unforgiving.
01:15What I don't like about the world right now is how unforgiving we are.
01:20She also talked about people making mistakes and how she was teaching her kids to be mindful
01:24of what they post online, as past actions could come back to haunt them.
01:27Oh my goodness, kids make mistakes, and that's why with social media or,
01:30you know, just posting or whatever, just be so careful.
01:33Please be careful.
01:34Well, just three months later, some of Loughlin's past actions did come back to haunt her. It was
01:38revealed that she had participated in a fraud scheme to secure her children's admissions into
01:42prestigious colleges. For Loughlin, the justice system was even more unforgiving, as she was
01:47sentenced to two months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.
01:52I thought I was acting out of love. I am truly and profoundly sorry.
01:57Tiger Woods
01:57For many years, the name Tiger Woods has been synonymous with golf,
02:01making him one of the most famous athletes of all time. Despite his fame,
02:04Woods rarely granted interviews, which one of the notable exceptions being a 2009 sit-down
02:08with 60 Minutes.
02:09Are you ever that shy kid anymore?
02:12Absolutely. Absolutely.
02:14This interview was particularly revealing, as Woods emphasized that his marriage to then-wife
02:18Elin Nordegren and their children were his top priority.
02:21It's pretty special to see my kids light up and see the smile on their faces.
02:27But we soon learned that was questionable at best, because later that same year,
02:31Woods became embroiled in one of the biggest infidelity scandals in history,
02:35as reports emerged that he had cheated on Nordegren, allegedly with over a dozen women.
02:39This scandal led to the collapse of his marriage and significantly tarnished
02:43his once-pristine reputation.
02:45I'm as disappointed as everyone else in my own behavior,
02:47because I can't believe I actually did that to the people I loved.
02:50Louis C.K.
02:51Stand-up comedian Louis C.K. was quite vocal about his disdain for Donald Trump during the
02:552016 U.S. presidential election. In April 2017, after likening Trump to Hitler, C.K. appeared
03:02on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he expressed regret over those remarks, but
03:06stopped short of retracting them.
03:07You've said worse things and not taken them back.
03:10Well, I don't take it back. I regret it. There's a difference.
03:12To clarify his stance, though, he called Trump a liar in eight unambiguous words.
03:16Then you have just a lying sack of s**t. And that's somebody who's just bleh.
03:22However, shortly after this interview, C.K. came face-to-face with his own dishonesty.
03:26When allegations of sexual impropriety surfaced in September 2017, he strongly denied them.
03:32It wasn't until November, when The New York Times officially published those claims,
03:35that he issued a statement acknowledging the truth and apologizing for his actions.
03:39I want to address the stories told to The New York Times by five women. These stories are true.
03:44Roseanne Barr
03:46Many may not know that Roseanne Barr ran for president in 2012 under the Peace and
03:49Freedom Party. She primarily conducted her campaign on Twitter, which led to her dubbing
03:56herself the original Crazy Tweeter, in a March 2018 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live. This interview
04:02aired just before the revival of her sitcom Roseanne, which premiered to impressive ratings.
04:06However, just a few months later, when everything seemed to be going great for her,
04:18the self-proclaimed original Crazy Tweeter lost it all after posting a crazy tweet.
04:23Barr made remarks about a former White House advisor that many considered racist.
04:28As a result, she was fired by ABC, leading to the cancellation of Roseanne,
04:36which was ultimately retooled as The Conners.
04:39Michael Jackson
04:39In February 1993, pop icon Michael Jackson sat down with talk show queen Oprah Winfrey
04:46for a televised interview that became the most watched in American history.
04:49Jackson candidly discussed his life, fame, and personal struggles,
04:53revealing how he missed out on a normal childhood due to starting his music career at a young age.
04:57There were times when I had great times with my brothers, pillow fights and things,
05:00but I used to always cry from loneliness.
05:03He also touched on his close friendships with children,
05:06suggesting he was living vicariously through them.
05:08People wonder why I always have children around, because
05:11I find the thing that I never had through them.
05:15This interview aired just months before one of them, Jordan Chandler,
05:18alleged that Jackson had sexually assaulted him. Some viewers interpreted Jackson's
05:22comments as foreshadowing the serious accusations that would follow.
05:25Although the subsequent police investigation was eventually dropped,
05:28the allegations would continue to haunt Jackson for the rest of his life.
05:32He's totally false. I was outraged. I could never do something like that.
05:37Danny Masterson
05:38Danny Masterson and Ashton Kutcher's friendship dates back to the late 90s,
05:42when they both starred in That 70s Show. In March 2016, while promoting their Netflix series The
05:47Ranch on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Masterson joked about their wild partying days,
05:52even mentioning he had compromising pictures of Kutcher.
05:54I have more photos of Commando Kutcher here, naked in a club, than probably anybody.
06:00Just one year later, reports emerged that cast a dark light on those wild partying days.
06:04Three women accused Masterson of sexual assault, and following a three-year investigation,
06:08he was officially charged. Masterson was convicted after two trials, and while awaiting sentencing,
06:13Kutcher sent a leniency letter on his behalf, a move that sparked public backlash.
06:18Masterson ultimately received a sentence of 30 years to life in prison.
06:22One said the world is a better place with him locked up,
06:24while the other called the once-respected actor a coward and a monster.
06:29Sean Diddy Combs
06:30Ever since singer Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against her former partner Sean Diddy Combs,
06:35unsettling details about his past have flooded the spotlight. Fans have combed
06:39through his old interviews for clues, but few were quite as telling as this Jimmy Kimmel Live
06:43appearance just days before the lawsuit broke. During the interview, Kimmel referenced a rumor
06:48from an online source claiming to be Diddy's former bodyguard. Allegedly, Will and Jada Pinkett
06:52Smith once wanted a threesome with Jennifer Lopez, which sparked threats of violence from
06:56Diddy, who was dating Lopez at the time. At the mention of this, Diddy froze, glaring coldly at
07:07Kimmel before laughing it off. Whether the rumor is true or not, Diddy's chilling reaction spoke
07:12volumes. Harvey Weinstein
07:17Disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein had been a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton right
07:22from her first presidential bid in 2008. Naturally, he continued to back her eight years later during
07:26the 2016 Democratic primaries. Weinstein was a guest on MSNBC where he accused Clinton's opponent
07:32Bernie Sanders of sexism for questioning her qualifications. But if there was anyone who
07:41embodied that very label, it was Weinstein, and it didn't take long for the public to find out.
07:46The following year, The New York Times and The New Yorker published dozens of allegations of
07:50sexual assault and harassment against him, which triggered the MeToo movement. Weinstein was
07:55ultimately convicted on related charges, and in 2023, he received a 16-year prison sentence.

08:21O.J. Simpson
08:22A few weeks before O.J. Simpson was arrested for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her
08:26friend Ron Goldman, he filmed an unreleased made-for-TV movie. Titled Frogmen, the project
08:34was intended to launch a series, but it was promptly shelved due to the infamous case.
08:38During the shoot, Simpson spoke with Entertainment Tonight discussing Brown and his kids. In one
08:43scene, his character visits his ex-wife's grave, and off-camera, Simpson even joked about being in
08:47a cemetery, which took on a haunting tone after the murders. More disturbingly, while preparing
08:54for the role, Simpson reportedly underwent knife training and visited a knife store with a co-star.
08:59This was the same store where he allegedly bought a knife shortly before the killings.
