00:00 Good morning, Wednesday, November 29th, 2023.
00:03 Filling for Kelly today is Deja Vu.
00:06 On the November 29th episode of Live with Kelly and Mark,
00:10 Kelly was noticeably missing from her show, but her husband
00:14 and co-host Mark Spalos quickly explained to their guest
00:18 co-host for the day, Deja Vu, why she was out.
00:22 Yeah, she was yesterday.
00:23 You could tell she was losing her voice a little bit.
00:25 Yeah, it's gone.
00:26 It's lost.
00:27 But is she OK?
00:28 Yeah, she's going to feel better.
00:29 She just take resting a little bit.
00:31 Deja Vu then joked with Mark about knowing what Kelly does
00:34 to him when he gets sick, but she and the audience were curious
00:37 what happens in the Ripa Consuelos household when their
00:40 matriarch is sick.
00:41 All right.
00:42 So I know like when you got sick, she would put you in the
00:44 basement.
00:45 Yes.
00:45 What do you do when Kelly gets sick?
00:47 I go to the basement.
00:48 Listen, he follows me around with the Lysol.
00:52 Yeah, I know we have one of these nice, they're called
00:55 Surgiclean air filters.
00:57 Oh, wow.
00:58 These nice cylinders.
00:59 I kind of just sneak one in to that room and turn it on.
01:03 Right, right, right.
01:04 Yeah, but I'm sure she'll feel better soon.
01:06 Good.
01:06 Yeah.
01:07 Mark and Kelly met on the soap opera All My Children in
01:09 1995 and got married in 1996.
01:13 Since then, they've welcomed three kids together.
01:15 26-year-old son Michael, 22-year-old daughter Lola, and
01:20 20-year-old son Joaquin.
01:21 The duo became co-workers again in April 2023 when Mark took
01:26 over for Bryan Seacrest as her live co-host.
01:29 Access Hollywood was there on the day of their first official
01:32 show and we spoke to Kelly and Mark right after they wrapped.
01:36 Congratulations on day one.
01:37 This is very exciting.
01:38 Thank you very much.
01:39 So, you know, now that we've got the nerves out, we've done
01:42 the first hour.
01:43 How you feeling?
01:43 I feel great.
01:44 I feel great.
01:45 May have bumbled and fumbled a few things, but I don't know.
01:49 Did you?
01:49 I have no idea.
01:50 I was so fast.
01:51 Yeah, no.
01:51 I was so fast.
01:52 Yeah, it's like, it's one of those things where I,
01:56 you know, you don't even, you're sometimes it's happening.
02:00 Live TV happens in real time.
02:02 And so you're not really even sure if like, I didn't think
02:07 you were, you maybe just in my brain.
02:09 Yeah, exactly.
02:10 Mistakes in your brain.
02:12 You're always your worst critic.
02:14 That's not 100%.
02:15 Mark, what was the best tip that Kelly gave you for coming
02:18 out today?
02:18 Just be yourself.
02:19 Enjoy the moment.
02:21 Be in the moment because that's what the show is, you know,
02:23 it's especially the first 20 minutes.
02:25 We had great things to talk about and just having her next
02:30 to me is always just, you know, very reassuring.
02:32 Great review from you, Kelly.
02:34 How do you think he did?
02:35 I mean, he knocked it out of the park like he always does.
02:38 10 out of 10, 100 out of 100.
02:41 I don't know what the, I don't know like what our scale is,
02:44 but you know, Mark has done this so many times in the past
02:48 that it just feels very normal.
02:51 It felt normal.
02:52 I know the producers were thrilled because they did not have
02:55 to teach a co-host how to be a co-host.
02:57 I think it's the first time we've ever had to do that here
03:01 where our co-host came in knowing the drill because it can
03:06 be very disquieting for a new person to come in and Mark
03:10 has done this routine so many times.
03:13 I get the rhythm.
03:14 I've been, you know, I know the rhythm of the show and
03:17 how it works.
03:18 So it was definitely an advantage.
03:20 Yeah.
