00:00 You know, you finally done a Christmas movie.
00:02 What made you decide to finally do a Christmas movie?
00:04 'Cause this is a great movie, I've seen it twice.
00:06 - Yeah, thanks man.
00:07 I hadn't done a Christmas movie, you know, I just, you know,
00:11 and I've been making movies for so long.
00:13 It's like, hey, this is something unique.
00:16 It was a great script.
00:17 And I was like, hey, you know, let's do it.
00:20 - I like working with Tracee Ellis Ross,
00:23 'cause I interviewed her earlier,
00:25 she was like, Eddie is the bomb.
00:26 It is so cool working with him.
00:27 He's chill, he's calm, but he's great to work with.
00:30 - And it's mutual.
00:31 I think she's a wonderful actress,
00:33 and I think she's a great comedian,
00:34 and I wanna do something else with her.
00:35 We had like a really good screen chemistry,
00:39 and on set, we worked really well together.
00:42 - Eddie, you sung in this movie, you did,
00:44 in this Christmas, the classic Donny Hathaway,
00:46 and that took me back.
00:47 That took me back to the party all the time, 1985.
00:50 My mother would play that song all the time
00:52 when she would get to drinking and partying with her girls.
00:55 To Donny Hathaway, or party all the time?
00:58 Oh, really?
00:58 (laughs)
01:00 That's funny.
01:02 - Is it true that Richard Pryor thought
01:03 it wasn't gonna be a hit?
01:04 Did Richard Pryor say that that song
01:05 wasn't gonna be a hit?
01:07 - It wasn't gonna be a hit.
01:08 He bet me that I wouldn't be able to put a song out
01:13 and have it be like nut joke.
01:16 Like, he bet me I wouldn't put a song out
01:17 that was just music.
01:19 (upbeat music)
