00:00 Ole Miss had a really good first day of the transfer portal,
00:03 whether anybody knows it or not yesterday.
00:07 We got news that Chris Paul was not only offered, but
00:11 he was visited by Lane Kiffin.
00:13 And Chris Paul is going to be visiting this weekend.
00:17 Ole Miss, I think, is in a really good position for his services, and
00:21 everybody should be excited about that.
00:23 But about the time that that news came out,
00:25 it came out that Ole Miss got a commitment from Deion Smith.
00:29 And honestly, Deion Smith has been the guy that everybody's been talking about
00:34 as a potential commitment to Ole Miss for about two years.
00:38 And he's a really good ball player that signed with, as you see,
00:44 LSU out of high school.
00:45 He was going to transfer to Ole Miss, didn't have the academics to do it or
00:50 something like that, ended up having to go to Juco.
00:52 And he's working to get his degree, and he's worked extremely hard.
00:57 Now, Deion Smith is committed to Ole Miss, and
01:01 we'll talk about what that means in just a second.
01:04 But I do wanna say this right now,
01:05 because there are going to be people that make this comparison.
01:08 Everybody's gonna say, Deion Smith, Chris Marshall, what's the difference?
01:12 The difference, in my opinion, and this isn't talking down about either of
01:17 the players, is Deion Smith is putting in the work to get eligible and
01:20 do what he needed to do to do the right thing.
01:23 Whatever happened when he left LSU, whatever happened at East Mississippi or
01:28 wherever he was, that's obviously been put behind him.
01:32 And he's gone down to Goodman, Mississippi, and
01:37 Holmes Community College, and played football.
01:40 And if anybody is driven down Interstate 55 through Holmes County, Mississippi,
01:46 you know that that's probably a reality check for
01:51 a young man that has NFL aspirations.
01:53 honestly NFL talent.
