00:00 guys, but if you don't create the initial separation, it doesn't make a difference.
00:04 If I'm in phase with you, I'm gonna look back at the ball, so
00:08 the late hands don't bother me.
00:10 It's really those guys that have the ability now to create the separation and
00:13 win.
00:14 So he has that ability, so that's what makes it so tough.
00:17 >> I got you, appreciate it.
00:19 >> You got it, man.
00:20 >> Coach, how's it going?
00:21 Curious as to what it is you need to see from your position group moving forward.
00:26 >> Just a level of consistency.
00:27 That's the one thing that we're all looking for, that Pat Graham preaches for
00:31 all of us.
00:32 We just talk about stats, leopard to eyes in our room.
00:35 We know when we do that, the amount of talent in that room,
00:38 we'll find the football and we'll play better.
00:41 >> You've got a lot of talent, you got a lot of intelligence,
00:43 you got a lot of youth also in that position group.
00:46 Curious as to where you've seen the biggest amount of growth from your
00:49 position group.
00:50 >> I'll tell you what, it's really as a whole.
00:54 When you come in and you see those guys right there, not huge names in this league,
00:58 but the guys who have an abundance of talent.
01:00 Guys that have stepped in in different situations.
01:04 Guys that we've shuffled guys around, guys that have been professionals.
01:08 They've approached it day to day as pros.
01:12 So I'm just really happy about just the group as a whole.
01:18 >> Entering last week, you guys kind of noticed an uptick in terms of turnovers
01:22 on the season.
01:23 A lot of those were interceptions.
01:24 I'm curious as to if there's anything that had changed in terms of mentality,
01:27 in terms of logistics with the defensive backs,
01:31 leading up to that uptick in turnovers.
01:33 >> I think anytime in sports, you realize as a coach, you get what you emphasize.
01:37 And then also with that, we just emphasize it.
01:39 We have Rob Ryan, of course, who talks about it all the time with the group.
01:43 The guys are excited about it.
01:45 The guys are pushing each other.
01:47 It's one of those things that they've taken as a challenge.
01:50 So I mean, that's why you see an uptick.
01:52 >> I'm curious, especially like a game against Kansas City,
01:56 against the Dolphins as well.
01:58 What goes into your decision as a coaching staff in terms of your defense
02:01 when you're running a man versus zone?
02:03 What helps decide that?
02:05 >> Well, I think the one thing is whenever you plan those really good offenses,
02:08 you can't just be one way.
02:09 It can't just be all man, it can't just be all zone.
02:11 The first thing is you always,
02:14 anytime you're talking about putting together a game plan,
02:16 you first start with the people.
02:18 It's their people, it's your people.
02:20 So with that, then you go scheme.
02:22 So Pat's always looking to attack the people.
02:25 He's always looking to attack, when you talk about the quarterback,
02:27 the offensive coordinator, and then be able to attack the center.
02:31 Because that dictates the protection.
02:33 So it's a lot that goes into it.
02:35 So I mean, that's why we entrust him to do it.
02:37 Thank you.
