Supermarket Sweep UK (S1, Ep 1 - Sept 6th 1993)

Coronation Street's Reg Holdsworth opens Dale Winton's supermarket as the very first episode of Supermarket Sweep hit the screen on September 6th 1993. The very first contestants to compete in this new game show were Mandy & Julie from Fall in Dorset, Wayne & Richard from Chesterfield, and Eve & Julie Ann from Nelson in Lancashire. (Interestingly no mention of surnames in this first series). The games played in this first episode were Reverse Reveal, Global Shopping, Food & Drink, Pricing Game and the Round Robin before the teams go on to the Super Sweep. But who will go wild in the aisles and earn the chance to go for the cash prize of £2,000?
