NFL Week 14 Preview: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys

  • last year
The Dallas Cowboys (9-3) are hosting the Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) this upcoming Sunday in Arlington for Sunday Night Football. Head Coach Mike McCarthy said that December is where it counts and every single game was from here on out matters for Dallas.

If the Cowboys win on Sunday night both teams will go into week 15 with a 10-3 record. The Cowboys do have more NFC wins at the moment so they would take the lead in the division. Every game after this point matters for both teams in the race to win the division.

The last time these two teams played each other was back in week nine. Philly took the win with a 28-23 victory. It was neck and neck the whole game and little mistakes by the Cowboys took over and gave the Eagles a win on their turf.

Both teams are coming into the game with stellar quarterbacks that are both playing top tier football. QB Dak Prescott leads all QB's in completion percentage with a 72.8 completion percentage. Prescott has also thrown for 250 yards or more in seven consecutive home games, if he throws for 250 yards on Sunday he will break an NFL record with eight consecutive home games with 250+ yards.

The Cowboys defense has had a good season, led by DaRon Bland and his eight interceptions this season, which leads the NFL. Helped by Micah Parsons and the pass rush. The Cowboys defense gives up an average of 20 points per game to good offenses and Philly is one of those teams. QB Jalen Hurts is one of the best QB's in the NFL and he is an offensive threat to Dallas.

An injury report for the Cowboys TE Peyton Hendershot was taken off IR and his status went back to active. He was full participation at practice on Wednesday. To make room for Hendershot they moved Sean McKeon to IR.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy was not at the facility on Wednesday after head coach Mike McCarthy was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. He is scheduled to get surgery on Wednesday afternoon. We were told in the press conference that he is expected to coach on Sunday night against the Eagles.
