00:00 The Senate ratified the 2024 national budget.

00:04 Some of the lawmakers were convinced that the removal of confidential funds from some government agencies was the reason behind the decision.

00:11 That's what Daniel Manalastas reported.

00:13 Two members of the Congress agreed with the Bicameral Conference Committee

00:20 that the confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President, Department of Education and other government agencies should not be returned

00:27 after they approved the Bicam report of the 2024 national budget.

00:32 The first plan of the Congress was to put it in offices that have a connection to the defense and security of the government.

00:40 Senator Sani Angara said that there was no reason to return the confidential funds of some agencies.

00:46 Even the confidential funds of the DICT were not returned but will be replaced.

00:51 I think it's a budget for growth, to sustain our growth. It's a budget that gives hope to our countrymen.
