00:00 Visitors to Sefton Park Palm House this December will be able to enjoy their new
00:06 winter exhibition centered around a golden gilded birdcage.
00:12 We were just so thrilled to like be here ever since I've had the birdcage. We got it made in
00:17 like 2015 and being from Liverpool I've always had the dream of bringing it here
00:21 to the Palm House so it's just an absolute joy for it to be finally here
00:25 and as soon as we put it in it was just like it looks so magical so yeah really
00:30 pleased. So it's open and completely free to see every day weekdays are 10 till 8
00:37 at night so we've extended our opening hours for anyone to come after work or
00:41 school weekends are 10 till 5 and while you're here you can take part in an
00:47 activity with an artist where you are making bird wings and writing your
00:52 Christmas wish and hanging them around the Palm House. Free activities
00:56 performances and events within the birdcage will take place throughout the
01:00 exhibition. Over the weekend coming up we've got the cherubs and the fairy so
01:05 the cherubs is like a cheeky musical trio of cheeky cherubs and they're like
01:10 angels so they'll kind of come in and sing three-part harmony. We really like
01:15 we like to push for women in music so we like really celebrate female musicians
01:20 so on Thursday night we've got Bearcat Gumbo who are like the there a four-part
01:25 jazz group so they're playing in there as well all women and then we've also
01:31 got Hope Street Harmonies who are gonna play I'm not quite sure how we're gonna
01:34 fit a whole choir in there but we'll do it we'll have a go if not we'll spill
01:38 out into the into the outside but yeah and then we also have aerialists. Guests
01:44 will be greeted by a heartwarming soundtrack from workshop participants
01:48 and local school children. Travel companions went in to work with schools
01:52 so we were also getting the kids to sort of think about their memories of winter
01:57 their sort of hopes for winter what does winter taste like so there's lots of
02:01 people saying hot chocolate this that that and there's one kid who just goes a
02:04 warm plate of curry. There's a lot of really lovely kind of audio coming from
02:08 the bird boxes that are around the space that the kids have sort of added to so
02:12 it's just makes it extra magic. The aim is to bring people together at the
02:16 center of the park to enjoy the merits of the birdcage stage and its joyous
02:21 assembly. Equally if you just want to come and sit on the bench and listen
02:26 to the music or bring your book and relax and just a bit of a time away from
02:31 what can be quite a busy time of year as well as expensive. My nan used to always
02:37 say you can never be sad at the Palm House and I just think that's so true
02:41 and whatever is on your mind you come in you just breathe in and it just you can
02:46 feel the tension going from your shoulders and to have the extra of the
02:51 art and the music on top of the already beautiful nature just taking that to
02:56 another level. Live performances poetry and music will run at the venue until
03:01 Thursday 21st of December.
