New Years Eve: Should Londoners be charged to watch the fireworks in the capital?

We asked Londoners what they think about having to pay to watch New Years Eve fireworks in the capital.

00:13 are many vantage points to get the best view in the capital. However, for those wanting

00:18 to see the countdown display by the River Thames, it costs £20 per ticket. That hasn't

00:24 seemed to deter people from bringing in 2024 by Big Ben, as this year's event has already

00:29 sold out. But is it right to charge Londoners to see fireworks in their own city?

00:35 I think people should be charged. It is a celebration but again we are polluting the

00:41 environment and everything. So I'd say all the proceeds should go to cleaning it up afterwards.
