Transcript
00:00 The National Bureau of Investigation filed a complaint against former Congressman Arnulfo Tevez Jr.
00:07 surprised by Luisa Erispe.
00:09 The former Congressman Arnulfo Tevez Jr. is facing a new complaint in the Department of Justice.
00:17 It is financing terrorism and providing material to support terrorists.
00:21 The National Bureau of Investigation filed a complaint.
00:25 But according to the DOJ, this is the result of the Anti-Money Laundering Council's blame
00:30 on Tevez's bank records and transactions because he was already considered a terrorist.
00:35 The DOJ sees that this strengthened the evidence that Tevez and his group should be called terrorists.
00:43 It's one thing to be designated as a terrorist group.
00:47 It's another thing to finance terrorism.
00:50 So, there are two charges.
00:54 And the fact that we followed the money, the panel of prosecutors have seen and built up a case of terrorist financing,
01:02 means that there are links.
01:05 The respondents to the two new charges, aside from former Congressman Arnulfo Tevez Jr.,
01:10 also included his son and brother, Axel and Pride Henry Tevez.
01:14 Also included is the former co-mastermind of the Digamo case, Marvin Miranda.
01:19 Today was the first preliminary investigation, but the charges of Tevez's counteraffidavit were dismissed
01:25 because they did not have a copy of the complaint.
01:28 We cannot make a counteraffidavit or what we should dismiss if we don't have a copy or if others cannot read their CP.
01:38 On December 19, the next hearing of the new charges was held.
01:42 According to the DOJ, until now, they believe that Tevez is still in Timor-Leste and he's still asking to be placed in an asylum.
01:51 The DOJ has submitted a request for Tevez to have a red notice with the International Police
01:57 so that he can be arrested and sent back to the Philippines to face charges against him.
02:02 The application for Interpol has already started.
02:06 I have yet to get the official feedback whether he's on the red list already.
02:10 But as far as I know, we have already written a request for him to be put on the red list
02:16 considering that he already has a warrant of arrest.
02:19 Louisa Erispe, for the people.
