00:00 The new year has arrived, and the new addition of Manila and Manila Water is very exciting.

00:07 The addition of water bill will be added on January 1.

00:14 The MWSS Regulatory Office has already approved the addition of water bill

00:19 that will be added to the projects that will ensure continuous water services.

00:24 For customers of Manila who consume 10 cubic meters of water,

00:30 the addition of water bill will be 4 pesos and 74 centavos per month.

00:33 The consumption can reach more than 200 pesos per month if the consumption is 30 cubic meters or more.

00:40 The addition of Manila Water's water bill also depends on the consumption,

00:43 almost 3 pesos if 10 cubic meters or more.

00:46 Or more than 155 pesos for 30 cubic meters or more.

00:52 Inflation is also included in the bill.

00:54 Among the projects that will be implemented by the tariff adjustment,

00:58 the new sources of water, such as deep wells and pipes,

01:02 will be used to distribute Manila Water's supply to Manila if necessary.

01:06 This year, Manila Water spent more than 11 billion pesos on this.

01:11 Manila spent almost 17 billion pesos.

01:15 I'm asking the public for their understanding.

01:17 If we don't do this tariff adjustment, we might have problems.

01:22 It is understood that this will still be added to the next expenses of consumers,

01:27 especially after Christmas.

01:29 It's also possible because if the water is also lost,

01:33 it will be difficult to use it every day.

01:37 We are just desperate because we need water.

01:40 Despite the increase in water bills,

01:42 the MWSS Regulatory Office assured that there will be no problems in the supply

01:47 even if we can already feel the effects of El Niño.

01:50 We have planned already for it.

01:53 That is why I can assure the public that there will be no water crisis in 2024.
