Retired AFLW coach Bec Goddard was back in her hometown of Canberra this week to receive an award earned from her other career, as a police officer.
She shared some of the wisdom she has gained over almost two decades coaching footy.

00:12 The second thing I think is when you are uncomfortable, try and find...
00:20 It's not going to get any better. You're never going to be comfortable being uncomfortable,
00:24 but try and find a creative way to get to the next place, to get you to where you want to be.
00:33 And the third thing I'd say is bring another woman with you,
00:39 whether that's alongside you at a training session, at a meeting,
00:43 whatever it is that you can do, bring another woman with you.
00:48 Or if you don't feel like you're ready to bring someone with you,
00:51 go and find a mentor up the other way and help yourself on your journey.
