00:00 The cast and creators of Only Murders in the Building reunited for a For You consideration
00:04 event in Los Angeles and opened up about season 3's hottest topic, Meryl Streep.
00:09 Among the cast were Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, who were joined by moderator
00:15 Judd Apatow for a screening and conversation about the latest season, as well as Meryl's
00:20 standout performance as newcomer character Loretta, who begins a romantic relationship
00:24 with Short's Oliver Putnam.
00:26 Apatow joked that it was the sexiest performance of Short's career.
00:29 But what really blew them away was her singing.
00:32 The season revolves around a musical being directed by Oliver, with Streep having several
00:36 performances.
00:37 Gomez remembered, "I literally cried at Meryl just rehearsing.
00:40 I thought it was so beautiful."
00:42 And Short added that everyone was sobbing off camera as she sang.
00:45 Deadpanned, he noted, "I remember sitting there thinking, 'It is true.
00:48 I guess Meryl Streep can really be effective.'"
00:51 As Martin added, "Given the chance."
00:53 Apatow also asked Gomez during the conversation if she ever gets as annoyed with the comedy
00:57 duo as her character does.
00:59 As she teased, "I can't ever really get much out.
01:01 They're always talking and doing bits.
01:03 I don't mind it."
01:04 Then admitted, "I've checked out a few times."
01:06 And as far as how many seasons the show could go on for, Gomez pointed at her two co-stars
01:11 and joked, "I mean, as long as they're around."
