00:00 Our countrymen did not miss the celebration of the first day of the Christmas Eve mass in France and Qatar.
00:09 We will now watch this in the words of Dick Villanueva.
00:12 The first day of the Christmas Eve mass was held in Paris, France and Doha, Qatar.
00:20 Our countrymen did not waste any time in Paris in the beginning of their Christmas Eve mass
00:26 to fulfill their wishes for the upcoming Christmas and New Year.
00:30 Early in the morning, the devotees of St. Bernard Church in the 16th district of Paris arrived.
00:34 There were 300 people who came,
00:36 some of whom were standing at the side of the church until the entrance.
00:41 The holy mass was led by Fr. Leo Balaguer of the Philippine Catholic Mission in France
00:46 and by the officials of the Philippine Embassy in Paris who were there as sponsors.
00:50 As mentioned earlier in the mass, this Christmas Eve is uniquely Filipino.
00:56 It's a preparation within the ongoing preparations that we're doing in Advent.
01:02 It's quite heartening to realize that we're celebrating it here in Paris, in France,
01:12 joining our other countrymen in other countries, in other parts of the world, and sustaining this tradition.
01:18 The Church Of Christ of Latter-day Saints was accompanied by the Church Of Christ of Latter-day Saints.
01:22 In the homily of Fr. Balaguer, it was explained that the mass of Galio
01:26 was led by farmers who were using the old word "galio" in Spanish as a way to wake up early.
01:32 They first went to a small chapel to pray before heading to their farms.
01:38 At that time, there were no cell phones, no alarm clocks yet,
01:45 so how could they wake up early?
01:48 What the farmers did was to get a stick,
01:54 the chicken, which in Spanish is called "galio,"
01:59 and they would place it on the corner of the house and it would be covered.
02:04 Once the stick was covered, the farmers would wake up and go to the farm.
02:12 But before they could go to the farm, they would first go to a chapel.
02:20 And in that chapel, they would pray.
02:25 Before the mass ended, Ambassador John E. Verma Hillum West gave a short message to the OFWs
02:31 and he ordered the tourist attractions in the Philippines.
02:35 He also urged the Filipinos to register for overseas absentee voting for the 2025 midterm elections.
02:42 After the mass, the OFWs congratulated their families and friends in the Philippines.
02:48 I just wish good health to all my family in the Philippines.
02:54 Merry Christmas to all. I love you all.
02:57 I wish peace and happiness for all the world.
03:00 Merry Christmas.
03:02 Merry Christmas.
03:05 Merry Christmas. Esguerra family, I love you all.
03:08 The OFWs in Doha, Qatar did not miss the first day of the church service
03:13 held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish Church.
03:17 There were 2,000 devotees inside the church and 4,000 outside.
03:22 Before the mass began, the Lord's Choir sang the Christmas Carol.
03:27 The Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir sang the Mass.
03:31 The Philippine Embassy in Qatar also had a few devotees at the beginning of the Mass.
03:38 Wherever the world goes, the OFWs still carry the Filipino tradition
03:44 of celebrating the longest Christmas celebration, Simbang Gabi and Bagsalubong in the New Year.
03:49 From Paris, France, Dick Villanueva wishes a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for the country.
03:57 Bayern.
