00:00 Israel`s government under pressure to resume negotiations with Hamas after its soldiers
00:05 mistakenly shoot three hostages dead in Gaza.
00:10 The Russian defense ministry has reported it shot down at least 32 Ukrainian drones
00:16 over occupied Crimea.
00:19 Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloney hosts an anti-migration festival attended by Elon
00:26 Musk and British leader Rishi Sunak.
00:31 In Tel Aviv, people rallied to mourn the three Israeli hostages mistakenly shot dead by Israeli
00:36 soldiers in Gaza and a fourth hostage who was confirmed to have died there.
00:41 The rally then heard from Raz Ben-Ami, an Israeli who`d been held hostage by Hamas and
00:47 whose husband, Ohad Ben-Ami, still is.
00:50 "Military action on its own won`t save the hostages` lives," she told the rally.
00:56 "Swapping hostages for prisoners is urgent and it`s critical."
01:04 Many Israelis are wondering how the three hostages, all young men in their 20s, could
01:09 be killed by soldiers when they were waving white flags.
01:12 All the military can say is that the soldiers were under pressure.
01:16 "You can`t shoot at someone waving a white flag and asking for permission.
01:21 This is a war and a state of pressure."
01:27 And now, Benjamin Netanyahu`s government is also under pressure to resume negotiations
01:32 with Hamas over swapping more Palestinian prisoners, the remaining 129 hostages still
01:38 being held in Gaza.
01:46 The Russian defense ministry has reported that at least 32 Ukrainian drones were shot
01:52 down over the occupied Crimea in the late hours of Friday night and early Saturday morning.
01:59 Social media users tell about explosions as well as in Genishchensk, a town just north
02:05 of Crimea, also occupied by Russian forces.
02:08 No casualties or damages have been reported so far.
02:12 Meanwhile, Ukraine reported fresh Russian attacks on Kurson, Mykolaiv and Kiev.
02:26 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier visited Lviv in Western Ukraine to pay tribute
02:32 to fallen soldiers.
02:33 He also took the time to meet friends and families of fallen Ukrainians.
02:43 A Vatican tribunal has convicted a cardinal of embezzling millions of euros and sentenced
02:48 him to five and a half years in prison.
02:51 Seventy-five-year-old Cardinal Angelo Becciu was once a close advisor to Pope Francis.
02:56 He then became the first cardinal to ever be prosecuted by the Vatican`s criminal court
03:00 in a trial that lasted two and a half years.
03:03 Becciu was just one of ten officials that were prosecuted, lifting the lid on some of
03:07 the city state`s murky financial dealings.
03:10 It's also raised questions about the rule of law in the Vatican and Francis` power as
03:15 absolute monarch.
03:20 The EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ilva Johansson, has visited the Canary Islands
03:26 to reassure them they are not alone in tackling the migration crisis.
03:30 The number of migrants arriving on the shores of the islands this year has broken records.
03:36 Most of the arrivals hail from Senegal, Mauritania and Morocco.
03:40 The route from the African continent to the islands is believed to be more dangerous than
03:45 crossing the Mediterranean Sea, where the vast majority of migrant deaths are recorded.
03:54 Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloney is hosting a right-wing festival in Rome with
03:58 immigration high on her agenda.
04:01 Italy is trying to get Albania to take in most of its migrants and have any asylum applications
04:06 they make processed there.
04:09 Albanian President Eddie Rama has cautioned that it won`t stop migration from Africa to
04:13 Europe, however.
04:15 Whilst Maloney wants migrants processed in Albania, the U.K.'s Prime Minister, Rishi
04:20 Sunak, wants them processed much further away in Rwanda.
04:24 Sunak has claimed that migrants could overwhelm countries such as Italy and the U.K.
04:29 And the U.S. billionaire Elon Musk also had an anti-migration message for the festival.
04:35 He said immigration cannot solve the demographic problem that many major economic powers such
04:40 as Italy and Japan are facing.
04:43 The answer, he said, is for families to have more children.
04:46 And to drive home his point, he carried one of his sons onto the stage.
04:50 (audience laughing)
