00:00 25 people were arrested in a raid on a diesel smuggling in Mariveles, Bataan.

00:07 Together with the Bureau of Customs,

00:12 the Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division of the NBI

00:16 occupied a compound in Barangay Alasasin, Mariveles, Bataan.

00:19 Inside the compound, 16 lorries or truck oil tankers were found

00:24 and the drivers and passengers were forced to get off.

00:29 In the middle of the raid, a marine tanker was found

00:32 who was forced to leave the area with a load of oil

00:34 and was forced to walk to avoid the raid.

00:37 The NBI also entered the empty Lorna ship

00:40 which was loaded with thousands of liters of oil.

00:43 According to the NBI,

00:44 some ships and personalities were found in the oil smuggling in Bataan

00:48 based on their investigation and surveillance.

00:51 They were there in the harbor first,

00:53 maybe five of them were there,

00:55 then by twos, they were moving around the area.

01:00 Then we could see the trucks coming in one after another.

01:04 This was really suspicious

01:06 because the area was very dark.

01:08 We also identified the people who were being carried

01:11 because the drivers and passengers were taken by sworn statements.

01:22 to Maitarlac and other places that we haven't disclosed yet.

01:28 The BOC and their investigators obtained oil samples

01:32 and confirmed that there were no markers on the oil smuggled.

01:38 25 people were arrested in the compound

01:41 while 136,000 liters of diesel worth more than P7 million

01:45 was the market value.

01:47 If the 16 oil tanker trucks were filled,

01:52 the smuggled diesel worth P90 million could be obtained.

01:57 We are still trying to get the money of the arrested.

02:01 According to the NBI AOTCD,

02:03 the government's loss in the long and large operation of oil smuggling of the alleged group

02:07 is already P1 billion.

02:11 This is a big problem for our government.

02:14 First of all, they are not paying their duties.

02:17 The businessmen who are following the law are also pitiful.

02:22 They are the enemies of those who are not paying.

02:25 They are facing the cases of fuel smuggling under the CMTA and other related laws.
