00:04 A suspect was arrested thanks to a police drone that helped officers find him hiding
00:08 in a bin.
00:10 Officers received a report of a driver leaving his car and attempting to assault the occupant
00:14 of another vehicle.
00:15 The suspect attempted to run away but police deployed their drone which used a thermal
00:20 camera to find the 19-year-old.
00:22 Local officials are still waiting for the final sign-off from the government for funding
00:26 to start the Tyne Bridge restoration.
00:28 Council bosses hope the bulk of the restoration could begin in 2024 but the Department for
00:34 Transport have said that details relating to funding will be confirmed in due course.
00:39 And finally, plans to give the North East a London-style ticketing system for transport
00:43 are progressing.
00:44 The plans could see an Oyster-style smart card that could be used to tap in and out
