00:00 >> Great team win, great team win.
00:03 >> Coach, big day by Baker,
00:05 many field four touchdown passes, season high in yards.
00:07 You've been struggling from a percentage standpoint the last few weeks.
00:11 What was the difference today?
00:13 >> I was just playing together, we established the run.
00:16 They didn't play us for too high last week, so we kinda got both things going a
00:19 little bit, kept them off balance, and Baker made some plays.
00:22 >> The fact that Baker was able to throw touchdown passes to four different
00:25 receiving targets, that wasn't something we may have seen earlier in the season.
00:29 Can you just talk about how big that was for him?
00:32 >> It's huge for us, not putting all the pressure on two guys and
00:35 that's opening up things for other guys when they're starting to come through.
00:38 And we're playing great team football in December.
00:40 >> What can you say about Chris Godwin really coming through,
00:43 having ten catches for 155 yards and a lot of big plays near the air?
00:47 >> Big game for him.
00:48 I told you when Chris and Mike get off at the same time, we're a very dangerous team.
00:52 >> What has Baker just meant to you this season,
00:54 the way that he's been able to kind of come through for you in this first year at Tampa?
00:59 >> He's meant everything, from a mental standpoint to a quarterback standpoint,
01:04 making plays from a toughness standpoint, from a leadership standpoint.
01:08 He's done everything, he's checked all the boxes,
01:10 he's doing all the right things now, and I can't say enough about him.
01:14 >> Coach Devin White didn't play, he was determined to help these scratch.
01:18 When is that determination of him not playing today?
01:21 >> Well, I made him inactive based off him saying that he couldn't go today.
01:25 So if he couldn't go today, I made him inactive.
01:27 >> Was that in fact due to health, that he couldn't go?
01:30 >> Probably a question for him, but I'm sure he's full of the sword.
01:33 But he told me he couldn't go, so we played the guy we had to play.
01:36 >> And what allowed this to be such a complete game for your team?
01:40 >> Got off the field and finished some two minute plays at defense.
01:43 Scored before the half on offense, special team,
01:46 they really didn't hurt us that much, we were good in field goal.
01:48 Got the running game going enough to finish the game off at the end,
01:52 got a great stop on defense, and we had the passing game going.
01:55 So December football is kind of building for us, we're gaining confidence.
01:59 The young guys are getting better, we just gotta keep pushing.
02:02 >> Speaking of the young guys,
02:03 let's talk about the job Kavon Merriweather did filling in for Ryan Neal this week.
02:07 >> Did a great job, you forget we're playing with a lot of guys over there,
02:09 that's a year or less, or two years or less.
02:12 And a lot of rookies are playing right now.
02:14 He plays and practices like he's been there, the game's not too big for him.
02:19 And you trust him to the point to where you don't worry about him when he's out
02:22 there.
02:23 >> How does it feel like this offense has turned the corner after it can be a battle
02:27 that you can run it when you have to run it and you can throw it, and
02:29 that's getting some of these teams out of that two by at times.
02:32 >> No, that's a good thing for us, us being able to operate normally in
02:36 an offensive line, having confidence in the receivers, receivers having confidence
02:40 in the running backs and tight ends and everything going full circle and
02:44 we all playing together.
02:45 >> You talk about the play of KJ Britton,
02:47 do you think that he's almost played himself into a starting role?
02:50 You hate to see guys lose their spot to injury, but
02:54 he stepped in and his play really lights out the last two weeks.
02:56 >> It is three for three plan right now, he's playing very good football.
03:00 I don't know whether he lost his spot to a starting role,
03:02 where work went to a starting role.
03:04 We'll go week by week and play from there, but
03:06 he definitely earned a lot of playing time.
03:08 >> There were some instances where Jordan Love was able to escape some sacks and
03:11 was able to still get the ball off and
03:13 have some big completions like the 17 year touchdown.
03:16 Just what was happening with the pass rush where they weren't
03:20 able to necessarily get those takedowns.
03:22 >> He's a good athlete, he's a very good athlete.
03:24 We missed him a couple times, he got out of the pocket.
03:26 We knew we couldn't let him out of the pocket, he's dangerous.
03:28 We were there, we just gotta make him play.
03:30 >> To be clear, when Devin said he couldn't go,
03:32 he was talking about his health, he was talking about his foot.
03:35 >> I'm sure he was.
03:37 >> Coach, how would you assess the play of the secondary today?
03:41 Mentioned a lot of big plays, Dontavian Wicks, Jaden Reed,
03:44 guys like that were getting open.
03:45 How would you say that the team secondary did?
03:48 >> I thought they held up an initial coverage.
03:50 Once the plays broke down and the quarterbacks started scrambling and
03:53 making some plays and we got a plaster, I think we got to do a better job there.
03:56 But overall, between Dean and Zion, the ball wasn't going over their head.
04:01 Dobbs didn't hurt us, he's their best guy.
04:02 We understand Jones came back and he can make some plays underneath, but
04:07 overall I thought they did a good job.
