00:06 Hello and welcome to our latest guide to 5 Things to Do, and this one covers the last week of the year,
00:11 that dead one where we don't know what to do with ourselves, but it does end in New Year's celebration,
00:15 so I'm sure we'll find something to talk about.
00:17 So, for those of you who haven't had enough of Christmas just yet,
00:20 a reminder that Christmas Carol is still on at the Tubes Theatre in Lancaster.
00:24 Unwrap the magic this season with a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic tale,
00:29 featuring toad-tapping music, festive fun and a touch of Christmas magic.
00:34 This heartwarming and uplifting tale of redemption is the perfect festive treat for the whole family.
00:39 There's evening and matinee shows all week, every day, except Christmas Day,
00:42 and you can get tickets for that from £16.
00:46 Now we turn our attention to Sunday 31st, and how about a New Year's Eve family party on Blackpool Promenade.
00:52 It's at the Christmas by the Sea Village on the Tower Festival headland, between 3pm and 6pm on New Year's Eve.
00:58 The outdoor party will include music and entertainment for children and parents,
01:02 finishing with a synchronised fireworks display and tower projection show set to music.
01:07 There's a range of ticket prices, but for a guide, a family of four is £20.75.
01:13 Later on, at the Town's Winter Gardens, you can enjoy a Northern Sol and Motown party,
01:18 billed as one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Northern Sol calendar, with full houses every year,
01:24 in addition to the best of classic Northern Sol and Motown in the newly refurbished Spanish Hall.
01:29 They've now taken over the Pavilion as their home for disco and modern Sol classics,
01:33 as well as the old Vic Bar to provide extra seating and increased bar service.
01:37 Tickets for that one are priced at £23.50.
01:41 The Lawrence Hotel in Paddyham are putting on the ultimate 80s and 90s night.
01:45 Enjoy a five-course dinner, and then a night of dancing, hosted by 80s heartthrob Nathan Moore from Brother Beyond.
01:52 That little lot will cost you £74.50 a ticket.
01:56 Lastly, we're back to Blackpool for a golden ticket to the most dazzling New Year's party in town,
02:01 because as the clock strikes midnight on its dazzling 29th year, Funny Girls is back to usher in 2024
02:08 with an all-new spectacular show.
02:10 A nostalgic trip back to the golden era of Hollywood, a high-kicking salute to the Rockettes,
02:15 and a dash of laughter with a unique twist on classic farce, the show has something to tickle everyone's fancy.
02:21 And as the clock inches closer to midnight, get ready for a grand finale that's as thrilling and magical as the start of a brand new year.
02:28 Tickets for this unmissable-sounding show range from £15 to £34.
02:33 Or you could just stay in with Jools Holland, up to you, but join me next week, next year, for another Five Things to Do.
02:39 Until then, take care and have a happy New Year.
