00:00 Both these guys are great guys. I'm some guy, I want them both to win. Don't worry about that.
00:04 I mean, Umar Chambekov, the reason he doesn't have a team is because he's at the wild cards training every day.
00:10 You know?
00:10 Alright, here we go.
00:13 We are scheduled eight rounds of boxing in the light heavyweight division.
00:17 The French Revolution, Frederic Joulon, taking on the nine-time Austrian national champion, Umar Chambekov.
00:26 TJ DeSantis, the gentleman Jerry Cooney, the great Peter Welch inside the theater at Madison Square Garden.
00:33 Yahoo!
00:34 Yahoo indeed. We are underway.
00:38 Chambekov comes out, standing southpaw.
00:41 Chambekov entering his sixth fight of 2023, which says something. He's 7-0.
00:55 Good box of punch, huh?
00:57 Lefty in and out, nice. Using the face.
01:00 The one fight he went the distance in was against a gentleman named Kwame Ritter, who was previously undefeated.
01:06 And it was a fight that Chambekov really had to be smart about.
01:09 His fight IQ, he said, is what got him through that.
01:12 Kwame Ritter posed a lot of difficult challenges for him, but Chambekov proved to be able to adjust.
01:19 And that's something that he prides himself on, is having that fight IQ.
01:22 If that initial strategy doesn't work or your opponent makes some adjustment, he is able to adjust in kind.
01:28 And he's been better than everyone standing in his way thus far throughout his career.
01:32 And there's another guy that Julian-- uh, uh, Frederick Julian fought was Joan Ward,
01:36 who's an esteemed amateur turn and pro, who's undefeated, lost a very close decision to him.
01:42 It was a good fight.
01:43 Nice jab by Frederick.
01:51 Look for Uma to land that overhand left, and then close and work on the inside like that.
01:56 You know, if he could get his shoulder into that right-- to that, uh, left arm, straight left hand, he'd do a lot of damage.
02:04 So he'll typically work on the inside here.
02:08 I mean, if he's looking to just stay on the outside for now.
02:12 But Freddie's gonna see that in the gym. He's gonna clean that up pretty quick.
02:16 For the Frenchman, Julian suffered two losses in his career. Neither were by stoppage. Never been stopped.
02:24 So he is durable.
02:27 What do you think about that activity, Jerry? I mean, six fights in one year. That's a lot for a boxer.
02:35 You know, that's what you should be doing early on.
02:38 A lot of fights, a lot of experience, a lot of different towns, a lot of state.
02:42 You know, you move around and get that experience. You can fight anywhere, against anybody.
02:47 It is interesting when you think about how much you compete as an amateur, and then things, you know, slow down considerably, and justifiably so, as a pro.
02:55 But a lot of-- a lot of athletes don't like that inactivity that comes with, you know, becoming a pro compared to their, you know, schedule as an amateur.
03:03 You know, we talked earlier about it, TJ, that, you know, the pandemic hurt people.
03:06 But years ago, in my time, we fought more. We fought three or four times a year.
03:11 You kept yourself busy. Now it's a lot different.
03:14 And it's part of the pandemic and, you know, other sports.
03:17 And that's what you need now, Hollywood fight nights, keeping these kids busy, keeping them active.
03:24 And that's-- you're gonna help them step up in their career.
03:28 And that's another thing. It always comes down to dollars and cents, how we do.
03:33 Right.
03:33 How do you sell yourself? I get this all the time.
03:36 First round in the books here.
03:38 Gonna stay in the corner here of Umar Chanpekov.
03:44 Good job.
03:44 What do you think thus far, Peter, on how the wild card fighters look?
03:52 Yeah, I think they all look great. I mean, they're well-seasoned.
03:56 They have great fundamentals. They're pressing the action. They're coming forward.
03:59 Umar, you know, coming forward, feints, setting up, taking some chances, coming inside.
04:04 So, yeah, I'd like to give that first round to Umar.
04:07 Do you concur?
04:09 I'm with you, yeah. I think it's safe to go a little more, a little busier.
04:13 And, you know, a friend from--
04:15 --Julan was trying to find the range.
04:21 He's staying safe, but he's gotta get off next round and start punching.
04:24 We'll see what the Frenchman can do here to adjust as we enter round number two.
04:30 TJ DeSantis, Peter Welch, the gentleman, Jerry Cooney.
04:34 Live tonight inside the theater at Madison Square Garden.
04:37 Appreciate you joining us for Hollywood Fight Nights on UFC Fight Pass.
04:41 You know, as a fighter, you gotta think of what the judges are looking at, what they're looking for, right?
04:46 They're looking for you to come forward and be effectively aggressive coming forward.
04:50 You have to do that. You can't be walking around and staying away if you want to make an impression.
04:54 And that's right. And Julian is not getting hit, but he's not doing anything.
04:58 He's staying outside the range. He's not finding his way in, whereas Umar is doing that.
05:04 And anytime he moves, Julian, Umar is cutting the ring off and not letting him go anywhere.
05:11 There he goes. Nice combination.
05:14 Action right in front of us here against the ropes.
05:18 Yeah, and he goes to that body now.
05:22 Nice right hook.
05:28 Be careful jumping him with that hook.
05:31 That's one of those punches, Jerry, that you have to time it.
05:38 That right hook, that left hook. Umar, if he's leaping in like that with the hook.
05:43 He's going to get a nice counterpunch. A kid like this has some experience, too.
05:47 Chumbekov has a three-inch reach advantage.
05:52 And you can tell he utilizes that reach really well against all of his opponents in the past.
05:58 He's a very long fighter.
05:59 He's trying to get him out of there. He's trying to work him. He's pushing him.
06:02 He's pushing him back.
06:05 He wants to be on this card, too. He wants to play on this card in the future.
06:09 A little switch there.
06:16 Just a little slow, Julian. Just a little bit slow getting off like that.
06:19 Make a bigger plan.
06:23 Take an extra step or something. Get closer and then for the shots.
06:32 Two minutes down here in round number two.
06:35 I like how Umar keeps his body moving, keeps the defense intact, keeps the motor running so he's ready to punch.
06:41 And he's a good-looking kid. He's got a good story.
06:45 I love that story.
06:47 One videotape, Ali Frazier, and he watched all the time.
06:51 That's all he had when he was in the UK?
06:53 Yeah.
06:54 I mean, if you're going to have one, that's a good one to have.
07:00 He's got a good story.
07:02 Cutting the ring off nice.
07:09 See, now that, you've got to aim for the chest. Stop aiming for the head.
07:14 Make those adjustments in between rounds.
07:20 Nice body shot there.
07:24 Final ten seconds here in round number two.
07:27 [crowd cheering]
07:30 [bell rings]
07:36 You've got to wonder how much lefty on lefty affects the fight is too.
07:40 Right.
07:41 How many lefties they've faced.
07:43 Look inside the corner here of Frédéric Jullain.
07:47 The French Revolution.
07:49 Got a tough Austrian in front of him.
07:52 See what adjustments he can make as we head towards round number three.
07:56 You know, we tell a guy like him, forget the plan.
07:59 Just take, put your face in his chest and keep punching.
08:02 You're not going to win.
08:04 No plan. You can't be trying to be cutie or something like that with this kid.
08:08 He still punches too fast.
08:10 Tomorrow, heading to Dave & Buster's in Times Square for a live filming of UFC Fight Pass' extra rounds.
08:16 It goes down from 6 to 8 p.m.
08:18 There will be a meet and greet with special guest Bilal Muhammad, Gordon Ryan, Callum Walsh, and UFC Hall of Famer Don Frye.
08:25 I'll be there too, Jerry, if you want to come hang out.
08:27 I want to hang out.
08:28 Really?
08:29 I'm a fan. I'm a big fan.
08:32 Peter, I think Jerry likes me.
08:34 I think we're friends. We're friends.
08:36 Alright, round three underway.
08:38 Umar Chambekov taking on the French Revolution.
08:42 Frédéric Jullain.
08:43 Yes, he took a page from your book, Jerry. He's going to the body. Jullain going to Umar's body.
08:49 He's got to put more pressure on him to stay on. I don't know if he has the endurance to do that.
08:52 And the other kid looks like he could dance all night.
08:55 Umar is just a fine-tuned guy.
09:02 I want to tell you something. Frédéric's going to make Umar a better puncher because he's going to make him settle down more and punch with the body and hurt the guy's muscles.
09:14 You think about wild card, as you mentioned, there are so many great fighters coming in and out of there on a regular basis.
09:21 Even guys from out of town, when they come to LA, the wild card is a must-hit spot for them.
09:27 You always know you're going to get good looks there.
09:29 I really like Umar's set-up. He's up and down with the feints. He's changing. He's fainting.
09:34 See, he's putting some pressure on him now.
09:37 Julio is...
10:02 And also, with the other team in the fight, you can pick up the pace a little bit. You can move a little harder.
10:08 See that? That right hand is so slow. The left hand is so slow there.
10:20 Quite a... Julio.
10:22 Trying to counter-punch.
10:25 Come up short there.
10:31 Nice combination.
10:33 Inside the final minute of this third round.
10:40 Attacked the body there.
10:50 He's chomped back off.
10:53 Back him off the jab!
10:55 Let's look at it. Frederick Jr. has 10 knockouts in his 13 victories.
11:06 Seems to be pumped up.
11:09 Fighting on the inside here, up against the ropes.
11:17 Watch your head, Sully. Watch your head.
11:19 Final 10 seconds of the third round.
11:27 We talk about the tactics and the turning of tides.
11:37 We saw a little bit of a change in the output here of Frederick Jullan.
11:41 A little more aggressive, a little more offensive.
11:43 Jerry, your thoughts. Was it enough to win the round for the Frenchman?
11:47 I don't think so. I think that he's got the right idea, but I don't know if he can put his pedal down
11:53 and kick in there and stay there for three-minute rounds with Junitsu.
11:56 Some stuff coming right here.
11:58 Peter Walkenster in this action.
12:05 He had a body shot, man. Jullan's a little bit coming up short with the left hand.
12:09 And Umar's taking advantage of that.
12:13 Coming up short.
12:15 He finished with the hook there. That was the one combo that he did land cleanly in that round.
12:23 I thought he looked a little better in this round early on.
12:26 Seconds out as we are headed to the fourth round.
12:38 Again, TJ DeSantis along with Jerry Cooney, Peter Welch inside the theater at Madison Square Garden.
12:43 It is a site of Tom Loeffler's Hollywood fight nights.
12:47 Appreciate you joining us live on UFC Fight Pass.
12:50 Umar's starting to put the pressure on him. He's backing him up.
12:58 He's not letting him, you know, Julian was really kind of putting pressure on him.
13:03 He's taking that real estate back from him and letting him know he's going to have to fight.
13:08 Two of the most respected men in combat sports looking.
13:23 Dana White sitting next to Tom Loeffler.
13:26 What a great combo, foot boxing.
13:30 Bring a sport back some love. Bring it together.
13:34 A sport from the longest time that was unnecessarily rivals with one another.
13:39 I think now we're beyond that.
13:41 If you're a fight fan, I don't care if you're a mixed martial arts fan predominantly,
13:45 you're watching this fight card and this fight, you're having a good time.
13:48 Take a look at the matches in UFC and how evenly matched those fights are.
13:53 You do that to boxing, recipe for success.
13:57 Sign me up. Actually sign me up for UFC Fight Pass.
14:01 So it looked like Umar was coming with the high guard, just walking Julian down.
14:08 It was effective for him, but he stopped doing it.
14:11 And it's going back and forth. It's a little more aggressive on both sides.
14:14 So maybe they're picking up their speed a little bit here.
14:17 You see that high guard, Jerry? He's just walking him down.
14:20 A little elbow went in.
14:24 It's probably from the UFC. He's watching the UFC.
14:27 He's just going to elbow him a little bit.
14:29 And that control. The guys want to frame him up.
14:31 Control the head.
14:33 Like they say, you can't hold and hit, but you can hit and hold with the hand.
14:40 Attacking the body with that left hand. He's jumped back off.
14:45 He's got to shorten that distance down to really have an effect on it.
14:49 Those body shots are nice, but you've got to get your body in on it.
14:53 That's when you hurt the guy.
14:55 Keep that elbow in, right Jerry?
14:58 Maybe he's got to settle down a little bit.
15:08 Well, let's just say that Umar is really in control of the whole fight.
15:17 Let's face that. He's doing all the work.
15:21 Maybe a little anxious, a little excited.
15:23 You could say, "Yeah, how many times you heard that in the gym, Jerry?"
15:27 Settle down and relax a little bit.
15:29 Hey, look at this.
15:35 Yahoo!
15:39 We're not even on camera yet. Now we are.
15:41 Jerry Cooney, Peter Welch. I'm TJ DeSantis.
15:44 We are Ringmaster Wrestling.
15:46 I'm TJ DeSantis. We are ringside tonight for Tom Wofford's 360 Promotions Hollywood Fight Nights.
15:51 Jerry, you just want to punch somebody, don't you?
15:53 The bells keep ringing. You've got to watch out for these old-time fighters.
15:57 That's why I'm sitting on this side.
15:58 Thanks a lot, Peter. Appreciate it.
16:00 I'm your defense, apparently.
16:02 You've got a better left hand than I do.
16:04 I possess no hands when it comes to punches, but Frederick Jullan does.
16:09 He's going to have to call upon them to get back in this fight.
16:12 He's going to have to, from pillar to post, keep the pressure on that to win.
16:16 He's way behind.
16:17 And the other kid's looking good. It's a great style.
16:20 And he's got to spend more time with Fred, whoever he's working with in the gym there.
16:25 You know, again, I look at Umar Chambekov, who's fighting tonight.
16:30 He's so young in his career. His sixth fight in 2023.
16:35 This is his eighth fight overall, and already at the Mecca here in New York City.
16:41 Pretty cool to watch these guys grow.
16:43 And that's the thing I love about Fight Pass so much,
16:45 is you can literally watch fighters go from prospects to pros to world champions.
16:50 And the boxing space, Umar Chambekov has done pretty well for himself
16:54 in utilizing this platform to showcase his skills.
16:56 What great potential.
16:58 I look forward to seeing more of Umar in the future.
17:01 I'm not putting aside what he's doing tonight. He's got to win tonight.
17:06 But I really look forward to seeing how he develops over the years.
17:09 It's kind of difficult to judge that now, because this kid's kind of defensive.
17:14 He doesn't commit himself. He plays safe.
17:17 You know, when you've got a guy that's going to fight back at you,
17:19 he leaves himself open, and you land those shots.
17:22 And when the guy's playing safe, it's harder to look so spectacular.
17:25 And even that being said, he's looking good.
17:28 What I like about Umar's schedule is all of his fights have been on the Hollywood Fight Night's platform.
17:35 So if you've been tuning in, you've been able to watch almost his entire career in development.
17:40 As you mentioned, Jerry, this year.
17:42 That's what I love. We love when we see athletes get to the highest heights of combat sports.
17:47 But it's the journey there that is most fun to watch.
17:50 Getting to know these kids was huge yesterday.
17:56 Really understanding what they come from.
18:00 I mean, we all love watching a fight.
18:02 But I love it more when I know why they're fighting.
18:05 Listen, you guys remember seeing that kid that was 16 years old, Cooney?
18:09 He got a lot better after that fight, bro.
18:11 Oh, that kid from the Highway Packs?
18:13 Yes, yes, yes. Cooney. 16 years old. He got a lot better.
18:16 And Julian's fine, cutting the reins down.
18:31 And Umar says, "Oh, yeah? No way."
18:34 Clinch up against the ropes here with one minute remaining in round number five.
18:38 Working that body.
18:40 We're getting that sweat down here, guys.
18:48 That's a job hazard here.
18:50 Showcasing his skills in front of all the guys behind us.
18:55 Oh, yeah.
18:59 Back in space here. Julian attacking the body of Chon Bekha.
19:03 30 seconds left.
19:05 Like I was saying before, you know, the better the fighter, he's going to commit himself more.
19:14 He's going to leave himself open and get caught by good fighters.
19:17 Final 10 seconds of this fifth round.
19:27 [crowd shouting]
19:29 [bell rings]
19:35 Nice bit of volume there by Umar Chon Bekha.
19:38 The Frenchman just smiles at him as the round ends.
19:43 Inside the corner here of Umar Chon Bekha.
19:49 Jerry, it's a little bit similar to the last fight with Gore Yuritsy.
19:53 We're seeing a fighter out of the wild card, Jim, firmly in control,
19:58 but not necessarily able to put his opponent away.
20:00 Well, because they put you in with the style of a guy who's tough, durable,
20:05 and you can't land that shot.
20:07 Right.
20:08 Or you can't--
20:09 Sometimes I say when you catch a guy, you open up, you take 30 seconds,
20:13 you give everything you've got to get him out of there.
20:15 It's not. You've got to protect yourself to go the distance.
20:18 And listen, right now, these guys are not fighting for the title.
20:22 These guys are not fighting the level of guys they can fight.
20:25 They're learning their skill.
20:27 And so you put them in these kind of fights that make them work,
20:30 make them look awkward, make them learn more.
20:32 Right.
20:33 And then you take that with you into the next higher quality fighter
20:36 and perform at a better level.
20:38 There's that old saying, "You either win or you learn,"
20:40 but you learn a lot winning as well.
20:42 And Umar Chon Bekha is going to be better for this experience,
20:45 but again, a very talented Frenchman.
20:47 The French Revolution still standing in his way in Fred Mouchlon.
20:51 I think at times in the fight, the pace that Umar's putting on Julan,
20:56 Julan can't keep up with it.
20:58 So he's on his heels. He can't fire back.
21:01 So I think the pace has given him a hard time.
21:03 Well, plus you want to also add this in, he's lost twice.
21:06 So you learn how to lose too.
21:08 You just don't have that get up and go that you had earlier on.
21:18 How hard is that when you're in a tough fight, Jerry,
21:21 to not sort of succumb to the pressure of a pattern?
21:25 This fight does have a bit of a pattern,
21:27 and that pattern is it's not really going Julan's way.
21:29 Right.
21:30 Well, you have to turn that around by taking his distance away,
21:34 landing a good solid shot to the body,
21:36 make him watch his eyes and see when you can start opening up and going to work.
21:40 But this guy's not going to be denied tonight.
21:42 Freddie Roach is with him.
21:43 He's new up and coming.
21:45 This other kid has lost before.
21:47 It's going to be difficult.
21:48 You know, tactically, Julan, like he's walking forward now,
21:52 he'll land a shot and then he'll step back.
21:54 You land a shot, you're coming forward, keep pressing forward.
21:57 You don't step away.
21:58 You could step over to the side and come in at a different angle.
22:01 But now he just allowed Uno to put him on the rope.
22:05 And that's the whole thing.
22:06 You've got to get to the side.
22:07 You've got to weave underneath.
22:08 You've got to try different stuff.
22:10 They're doing the same thing all day.
22:12 [indiscernible]
22:20 I don't really see any Hail Mary shots from these guys.
22:23 I used to love those Hail Mary shots, bro.
22:25 You've got to go to sleep, bro.
22:30 I mean, when is it time to start trying those sort of Hail Mary shots?
22:35 I mean, is the fifth round of an eight-round fight?
22:37 How about the first round?
22:38 You want to catch him in the ribs.
22:39 I love your style.
22:40 You want to feel it.
22:41 You want to let them know who the boss is right there, bro.
22:46 What's that saying?
22:47 Go big or go home, right?
22:48 Go.
22:54 Sorry to say, one guy's got to be the stepping stone, you know what I mean?
22:58 Nice left hand finds a home by Umar Chombekov.
23:02 Another one.
23:07 Jawan content to sit here on the ropes.
23:12 Referee separates him.
23:20 Chombekov starting to turn up the volume here as we head down the stretch in his fifth round.
23:24 He's in great shape.
23:26 No problem with his wings.
23:30 I remember Floyd Mayweather, he boxed the guy six, seven rounds, six, seven minutes a round.
23:36 You don't ever get tired of that.
23:40 Five down, three to go.
23:42 Wow.
23:43 Between these light heavyweights inside the ring.
23:48 Look at that.
23:49 Hollywood Fight Night's kicking off 2024 in a big way.
23:52 Umar Trinidad going to be vying for the WBC Continental Americas Featherweight Championship.
23:59 Again, January 27th, it goes down at the Commerce Casino in Southern California.
24:04 Of course, you can watch it exclusively right here on UFC Fight Pass.
24:10 Got to get Jerry Cooney out to the West Coast for Hollywood Fight Night.
24:13 I like that.
24:15 Especially in January.
24:17 Come out, it's warm, nice break from the weather out here.
24:20 You got that right.
24:21 Sign me up.
24:23 You can come too, Peter.
24:26 All right, fighters about to come out for this sixth round.
24:32 Again, TJ DeSantis along with the gentleman Jerry Cooney.
24:35 The great Peter Welch, live tonight inside the theater at Madison Square Garden.
24:40 It is the site of Tom Lafleur's Hollywood Fight Night.
24:58 You can see Chumbek off still with some urgencies, trying to make something happen, getting a good look.
25:05 Against a very tough and durable Frenchman.
25:08 His right hand.
25:10 Jullan showing some potential that he's going to do something.
25:13 No, he's way behind.
25:16 His right hand in the body by Chumbek off.
25:18 Now Jullan coming forward with that right jab.
25:21 Jullan is playing his role.
25:24 He's assigned himself to it.
25:27 Mentally himself, TJ.
25:29 Yep.
25:31 Nice right hand, left hand.
25:54 Attacking the body, goes hot with the left hand as Chumbek off.
25:57 It's a funny thing when they're both south, where there's no headbutts.
26:05 Trying to go to the body as Jullan.
26:14 You know, I think about this week with the UFC on Saturday.
26:20 Tonight it's boxing inside the theater.
26:22 Dana White, a huge reason that this promotion is here in New York.
26:26 And Peter, you go way back with Dana.
26:29 A lot of people look at Dana as the mixed martial arts guy, the UFC president.
26:32 But he's been a fan and a supporter of boxing for many years.
26:36 He just has an eye for fights and making good matchups.
26:39 I mean, it's no surprise to me that him and Tom hit it off.
26:43 And they're putting together great boxing matches for the sport of boxing.
26:48 And it was the perfect storm.
26:50 The pandemic, boxing was down, UFC got together and started to rebuild.
26:57 Talk about the pandemic, he kept it alive, he kept it going.
27:00 He kept America running, to be honest with you.
27:02 We had nothing else to do.
27:04 But I want to know, Peter, you ever put on the gloves with Dana?
27:07 Who got the better sparring between you and Dana White?
27:09 In the early days, he came to the gym and I started sparring with him.
27:13 He was able to stick around, so he showed you some--
27:16 He was tough enough to stick around and learn.
27:19 [crowd cheering]
27:24 Final 10 seconds of this sixth round.
27:26 Now Julian's starting to pick it up there.
27:28 He might have come alive.
27:30 A little too late.
27:32 [bell ringing]
27:36 And don't ever say never, you always have a puncher's chance
27:39 and still more time to work.
27:41 But as you mentioned, Jerry, it might be a little too late
27:44 with Kumar Chandrakar firmly up on the scorecards.
27:47 What do you mean, Mike?
27:49 You scare me, Jerry. I don't know.
27:53 Peter, help me out here.
27:54 Let me tell you something, you guys, it's great being with you guys.
27:56 I'm having a great time and hanging out, learning this world you guys are in.
28:01 It's a lot of fun.
28:02 Peter, walk us through some of this action.
28:04 Oh, they got caught coming in, jumping in.
28:06 He caught that left hand on the way in.
28:08 But he fired right back.
28:09 The thing with Umar, when you said "Hi, God," he gave it for clothes better.
28:14 But if he's leaping in like that, of course he's going to eat it eventually.
28:18 So Julan kind of turned it around in that round.
28:23 A little bit early on.
28:25 But you know, he's going to learn over this.
28:27 As the quality of opponents get better, which is bound to happen.
28:31 It's a fucking battle of the mind.
28:35 A little early, right?
28:36 [bell ringing]
28:37 All right, eighth and final round underway.
28:41 Umar Chumbekov taking on the French Revolution in Frederic Julan.
28:46 Frederic's fighting back now.
28:49 This combination of punches by Chumbekov going to the body and the head.
29:07 [punching sounds]
29:08 Julan coming forward with some offensive zone.
29:12 I wish we could have seen it earlier.
29:18 We could have seen it earlier.
29:20 Why do you think it's so delayed, Peter?
29:27 Is it just him trying to get his timing right?
29:29 Is it a mental block? What is it?
29:31 Just the mentality.
29:32 I think you're looking to go the distance.
29:34 If it's me, I want to get out there.
29:36 I want to jump on him early.
29:37 If I'm going to rest, I want to rest in the middle of the round.
29:40 Put something on him. Put the power on him.
29:42 But you know, also, this kid, maybe make a living as a sparring partner.
29:46 And as a sparring partner, you learn three and out, three and out.
29:49 You don't really learn.
29:50 You lose sight of your purpose, your focus, and you become a sparring partner.
29:55 I don't know if that's the case, but I've seen it enough in my life.
29:58 Guys are tough as hell for three rounds.
30:02 That's it.
30:04 The offensive julan finding the gloves.
30:15 Chumbek off, Chumbek up, trying to put him in the corner.
30:18 Separation back at space.
30:24 It's some great advertising on Omar's pants.
30:28 Wild card boxing. I wonder what he gets for that.
30:31 Inside the final minute.
30:37 Great timing.
30:44 Inside the final minute.
30:46 Great throws.
30:52 I just want to know where that Jerry Cooney jersey is from that fight we saw earlier.
31:01 Who's that? The boxing hall of fame?
31:03 Yeah.
31:05 Actually, I do have a robe in the home for you in the shorts.
31:09 Thanks.
31:11 I've got a robe in the bathroom.
31:13 Final ten seconds.
31:25 And that's a wrap.
31:35 We go the distance.
31:36 Omar Chumbek off in the French Revolution.
31:39 Frederic Joulon.
31:41 Couldn't get him two rounds out of that fight.
31:44 You know?
31:46 It was one of those things that you mentioned.
31:48 Joulon had offense, Peter, but it just came a little too late.
31:51 It's really hard to steal the momentum when, you know,
31:55 theoretically you're already out of the fight on the scorecard.
31:57 He has the potential, but he's just not bringing it together and not putting it out there.
32:02 Biggest takeaway, Jerry, from this fight?
32:06 It's a growing experience.
32:08 You know, this kid has been around for a while.
32:10 He's not really making it to the top.
32:12 He's got a lot of heart.
32:14 This kid is going places.
32:16 He's with a great camp.
32:18 He's learning from Freddy.
32:20 And he's going to go back and learn his mistakes and what you need to do.
32:23 Stepping off to the side.
32:25 Staying in front of him way too much.
32:27 Yeah.
32:29 Here's some of the action here.
32:32 Peter, you want to walk us through?
32:34 Yeah, I mean, he's establishing that jab always.
32:37 He's got the high guard.
32:39 He's trying to put the pressure on, trying to finish strong.
32:42 When you say the high guard, you mean defense.
32:44 He's tight.
32:46 He's protecting himself, which is so important.
32:48 Well, we've got a king in our main event in Callum Walsh and a king in the crowd.
32:53 Gordon Ryan, the best submission in the world.
32:57 Ryan, the best submission grappler in the world today.
33:01 Taking in Hollywood Fight Nights here in New York City.
33:06 [Indiscernible]
33:08 The way to turn the volume down, it's like blowing my ear.
33:11 [Indiscernible]
33:15 Is that better?
33:17 All right, the judges have tallied their 10s and 9s.
33:22 And we will make this one official.
33:23 We go to Joe Martinez.
33:26 Joe Martinez just getting in the ring.
33:28 All right, now I think we've got it all ironed out.
33:33 All right, Joe Martinez.
33:35 [Bell rings]
33:36 Ladies and gentlemen, after eight rounds, we go to the judges' scorecards,
33:39 and here are the totals.
33:41 Well, let's go roll down scores at 79-73.
33:44 Mark Constantino and Tom Shrek both have the score 78-74.
33:49 All for your winner by unanimous decision,
33:52 the still undefeated Umar Chombekov.
33:59 [Bell rings]
34:00 Umar Chombekov getting his hand raised, and the look on--
34:04 Julie, his face was--
34:06 Frederick Jullan's face, he seemed to be very surprised by the judges' decision.
34:12 I don't know what fight he was watching, but it wasn't the same I was.
34:16 I think he's going to have a look at that one.
