00:00 So Mission Christmas is all about making sure that no local child wakes up without a gift on Christmas morning.
00:06 It's been a really tough campaign, it's been the toughest campaign that I've ever known in my 10 years of being here.
00:11 I said exactly the same last year and I thought that it couldn't get any tougher, but this year has been the toughest ever.
00:18 What sort of reaction have you had from the people of Leeds?
00:23 You know what, even though it's been really tough, it was really really slow to begin with and gifts weren't coming in in the quantities that we've seen before.
00:30 We've had to buy an awful lot of gifts, so luckily we've had people donating and fundraising and going online and donating cash.
00:37 So in the end it's been absolutely fantastic. As much as it's been a struggle, literally right up until the last few days,
00:44 I'm so delighted to say that we've helped 16,002 children this year.
00:50 That must be quite an incredible feeling for you and all the team that kids will be waking up on Christmas day morning with a gift.
00:58 It is such an emotional feeling, you know, we've had many many tears, many sleepless nights, very very long hours,
01:04 but together as a community we've all pulled together to make sure that these kids are going to have something to open on Christmas day.
01:10 And it is the best feeling in the world, so I cannot thank people enough for their amazing support.
